New York Knicks (28-40) at Philadelphia 76ers (15-53), 7 p.m.
(SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Knicks impressed new team president Phil
Jackson last time out and they will take a seven-game win streak into
Philadelphia Friday night to face the 76ers, a team which has lost 22
The Knicks haven't lost since March 3 at Detroit and have won three in a row
on the road.
In his first appearance as president on Wednesday night, the Knicks knocked
off the Eastern Conference's best team, the Indiana Pacers, 92-86, at Madison
After receiving a standing ovation during pregame introductions, Jackson
witnessed Carmelo Anthony put up 34 points and Amar'e Stoudemire add 21 in
just 29 minutes to help continue the Knicks' late push for a postseason berth.
Tyson Chandler pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds for New York, now just four
games back of Atlanta for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot with 14
to play. Raymond Felton scored 11 points in the victory.
"With a guy like that around it creates a winning mentality, it creates an
atmosphere that's pretty golden and we've got to capitalize on that,"
Stoudemire said of Jackson.
The Knicks host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night, then head west to
face the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Golden State
Warriors and Utah Jazz.
At the other end of the spectrum, is the 76ers.
How long has it been since the Sixers last won? Their victory over the Celtics
came after Even Turner, who now plays for Indiana, hit an off-balance jumper
at the buzzer. It was four days before the Super Bowl and nine days before the
opening ceremony of the Sochi Olympics.
They've dropped a franchise-worst 22 consecutive games, including 17 straight
at Wells Fargo Center. The NBA record for longest losing streak is 26 games by
the Cavaliers in the 2010-11 season.
The Sixers were game last time out, losing to the Chicago Bulls at home
Wednesday night, 102-94.
They cut the deficit to four late in the fourth quarter, but Tony Wroten
missed a layup and Jimmy Butler made some free throws to ice the victory for

against their Atlantic Division rivals.
