NBA Game Summary - Miami at Charlotte
(Wednesday, December 26th)
Final Score: Miami 105, Charlotte 92
Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - LeBron James filled the stat sheet with 27 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and four steals as the Miami Heat handed the Charlotte Bobcats their 16th straight loss with a 105-92 triumph.
Dwyane Wade tallied 13 of his 29 points in the fourth, while adding nine rebounds and five assists for Miami, which has won six straight.
Kemba Walker netted 27 points to lead the Bobcats, who have dropped nine consecutive contests to the Heat.
The Bobcats trailed by as many as 19 in the second quarter and never led in the contest, but a 15-6 run, capped by Gerald Henderson's three-point play pulled the hosts within 84-82 with 7:16 remaining in the game.
Miami, though, responded with a 10-3 spurt to up the margin back into double digits.
James answered right away with a left wing step-back 3-pointer -- just his second field goal of the second half -- and Mario Chalmers split a pair of foul shots on Miami's next trip down the floor. Walker then hit a trey for an 88-85 deficit, but back-to-back Wade jumpers, followed by Shane Battier's right corner three upped the Heat advantage to 95-85 with 4:01 left.
Charlotte never cut the margin below eight the rest of the way.
"We're not a team that trying to win in two quarters or three quarters. We know it takes 48 minutes to win a basketball game and we're not going to shortcut anything," said James. "We know teams are going to make runs and we have to be able to withstand their run and make enough plays offensively and defensively to come away with it."
Earlier, the Heat stormed out of the gate and opened up a quick 9-0 advantage before James' putback dunk made it 13-2 a little over three minutes in. James, who had six points during the spurt, finished the opening frame with 11 points as Miami took a 27-18 margin into the second.
The Heat led by as many as 19 in the second before taking a 55-38 lead into the break.
Charlotte began the third on a 12-3 swing to get within 58-50, and were down, 78-71, going into the fourth.
Chalmers netted 17 points to go with four assists ... Hakim Warrick had 18 points and nine boards for Charlotte ... The Heat shot 45.7 percent (37-of-81) from the floor.
