New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Carmelo Anthony got the New York Knicks
back on track with a 31-point effort that carried his team to a 117-90 rout of
the Denver Nuggets at Madison Square Garden.
Five other New York players scored in double figures, and the Knicks erupted
for 67 second-half points to break open a close contest and halt a three-game

the second half, with Anthony capping the sequence with a trey that put the
hosts ahead 62-48 under five minutes into the period.

eight straight points from Smith midway through the final session. His back-
to-back 3-pointers to end the run staked New York to a commanding 102-77

point mark, having recorded 98 or less all throughout their recent three-game
