Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Scoring a team-high 15 points, Greg Smith was
one of six Rockets in double-figures, as Houston torched the Orlando Magic,
108-92, in the preseason finale for both teams.
Jeremy Lin finished with 13 points and five assists, Chandler Parsons and
Donatas Motiejunas each contributed 12 points, while Kevin Martin and Carlos
Delfino poured in 11 points apiece for Houston, which won its fifth and final
preseason contest. The Rockets will open their season in Detroit on Oct. 31
against the Pistons.
E'Twaun Moore scored a game-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting and DeQuan
Jones added 16 in the setback for the Magic, who won just two games in
preseason play. Orlando will host the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 2 to kick off
their regular season.
The Rockets finished the first half on an 11-1 run to take a 55-41 lead at
halftime and blew the game open early in the third quarter. They began the
second half on 12-0 run, eventually building their advantage to as much as 30
points.
