Bucks sign Neal, reportedly trade Jennings to Pistons

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly agreed in principle to trade guard Brandon Jennings to the Detroit Pistons.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the Pistons will send point guard Brandon Knight, small forward Khris Middleton and forward Slava Kravtsov to the Bucks in exchange for Jennings.

It's a sign-and-trade deal. The newspaper reports the Bucks signed Jennings to a three-year, $24 million contract and then traded him to the Pistons, who now have forward Josh Smith.

In preparation for the trade, the Bucks made a key roster move Tuesday by signing free agent guard Gary Neal.

The 23-year-old Jennings, the 10th overall draft pick by the Bucks in 2009, averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds over 80 games last season. In 291 career contests, he has averages of 17 points, 5.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds.

Knight, the eighth overall selection in 2011, averaged 13.3 points in his second season with Detroit. Middleton averaged 6.1 points in 27 contests last season, his first in the league after being a second-round draft pick.

Terms weren't disclosed for Neal's contract, which the Journal Sentinel reports is a two-year contract worth $6.5 million.

Neal played for San Antonio the first three seasons of his career. The 28- year-old has averaged 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists over his career. In the 2013 playoffs, Neal and Danny Green became the first two teammates to make at least six 3-pointers in the same Finals game.
