James, Harden earn NBA's weekly honors

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Miami Heat forward LeBron James and Houston Rockets guard James Harden were named the NBA Players of the Week in the Eastern and Western Conference, respectively, for the games played March 18 through March 24.

James guided the Heat to a 4-0 week and helped extend their winning streak to 26 games, the second longest streak in NBA history, trailing only the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers, who won 33 games in a row. James, who has taken the weekly honor six times this season, recorded his fourth triple-double of the season with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists on March 20 as Miami overcame a 27- point deficit to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Harden helped the Rockets to a 3-0 week, posting averages of 26 points, four rebounds and 3.7 assists. He poured in 29 points and knocked down the game- winning basket to lift Houston to a win over the San Antonio Spurs on March 24. It was the third time Harden has taken the weekly honor this season.

Other nominees for weekly award were Atlanta's Al Horford, Brooklyn's Brook Lopez, New Orleans' Anthony Davis, New York's Carmelo Anthony and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge.
