San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Tim Duncan had 27 points and seven rebounds and the San Antonio Spurs rallied for a 90-85 triumph over the Mavericks on Sunday in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series. Manu Ginobili, who went 3-of-6 from 3-point range, was the only Spur to hit a triple for San Antonio, which went just 3-of-17 (17.6 percent) as a team. It shot a blistering 43.3 percent (42-of-97) from downtown in four games against Dallas this season. The Spurs trailed 81-71 with 7:45 to play, but closed the game on a 19-4 run. Tony Parker posted 21 points, six assists and four rebounds for the top-seeded Spurs, who finished with the NBA's best record at 62-20. Dirk Nowitzki was limited to 11 points and eight rebounds on 4-of-14 shooting for Dallas, which lost to the Grizzlies in overtime Wednesday on the final day of the season to fall into the eighth seed.

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for an efficient 50 points and the Miami Heat pulled away from the pesky Charlotte Bobcats for a 99-88 victory on Sunday in the opener of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. James made four of Miami's 11 3-pointers and finished with 27 points and nine rebounds while Wade added 23 points and five assists for the two-time defending champs. The duo shot 18-of-32 (56.3 percent) from the field, and Miami received key contributions off the bench from James Jones and Chris Andersen, with Jones chipping in 12 points and Andersen adding eight points and 10 rebounds while limiting Al Jefferson on the defensive side. Jefferson, Charlotte's most consistent offensive threat in the regular season, started strong but was hobbled after suffering a strain to his left plantar fascia in the first quarter. He still logged 18 points and 10 rebounds while Kemba Walker's 20-point effort led the club.

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Nene scored 24 points and the Washington Wizards had big contributions from all five starters in their first playoff game in six years, a 102-93 win over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Marcin Gortat collected 15 points and 13 rebounds, Trevor Ariza had 18 points, John Wall scored 16 with six rebounds and six assists and Bradley Beal had 13 points and seven assists for fifth-seeded Washington. The fourth-seeded Bulls, in the playoffs for the second straight year without injured star Derrick Rose, were led by 16 points apiece from Kirk Hinrich and D.J. Augustin. Joakim Noah added 10 points and 10 rebounds and Jimmy Butler scored 15.
