2008: Selected by Chicago in 1st round (1st overall) of the NBA Draft...2009: NBA Rookie of the Year; NBA All-Rookie First Team...2010: NBA All-Star...2011: NBA All-Star; All-NBA First Team; NBA MVP; Re-signed with Chicago to a five-year deal worth $94.8 million, Dec. 21st...2012: NBA All-Star.

With the Chicago Bulls holding the top pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Rose appears to be the favorite for that choice, since he is a Chicago native...Helped lead the Memphis Tigers to the championship game of the 2008 NCAA Tournament, losing to Kansas in overtime, yet was still named to the All-Final Four Team...Conference USA Freshman of the Year, All-Conference USA First Team member, a finalist for both the Cousy and Wooden Awards and an AP All-America Third Team choice in his first and only year of college basketball...Rose led Memphis with his 189 assists and was second on the squad with 14.9 ppg...A threat to take over a game from every conceivable angle, Rose also placed third on the Tigers with four and a half rebounds per contest and was third with 48 steals...Logged a career-best 12 assists versus Austin Peay, the most for a Memphis player since Anfernee Hardaway in 1993...Despite being just a freshman, Rose was considered one of the most well-rounded point guards in the college game last season, able to hit shots from the perimeter as well as break down defenders and streak to the rim with virtual ease...Plays the game smoothly and rarely is out of control as he directs the floor and sets the offense in motion...A starter in all but one of 40 games in 2007-08, perhaps the one knock on Rose is that he needs to improve his shooting from behind the three-point line.
