Description: Yankees outfielder/DH Andruw Jones should not be in your Saturday starting lineup due to an unfavorable matchup. In 26 career at-bats versus Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero, Jones is batting .154 with 11 strikeouts.
Insight: Jones has certainly been useful when in the lineup with 14 HR and 34 RBI in just 230 at-bats, but you shouldn't expect to see him on Saturday until after Romero is out of the game.

Description: Despite a home run on Tuesday night, Yankees outfielder/DH Andruw Jones should not be in your Wednesday starting lineup due to an unfavorable matchup. In 18 career at-bats versus Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero, Jones is batting .167 with nine strikeouts.
Insight: Jones has been hot over the past four weeks, batting .324 with six homers in just 37 at-bats, but Wednesday is not the day for him to continue his power production.
7/17/2012 9:05:00 AM
Description: You might expect Yankees outfielder/DH Andruw Jones in the lineup against the Blue Jays left Brett Cecil, but the numbers don't back the play. Jones is 0-for-9 against Cecil and overall this season his OPS is 119 points lower versus lefties than right-handers.
Insight: Jones has shown off some power this season with 11 homers in limited playing time (131 at-bats), but Tuesday is not the day to have him in your lineup.
7/8/2012 9:35:00 AM
Description: Yankees outfielder/DH Andruw Jones hit three homers against the Red Sox in the Yankees' doubleheader Saturday, and he has had some success against Boston lefty Jon Lester in 26 plate appearances.
Insight: Jones is 6-for-19 (.316) with a homer and five RBIs against Lester, and he also has seven walks against seven strikeouts, so he clearly sees the ball well when facing the lefty. Seven of Jones' 10 homers have come against left-handed pitching this season.
7/7/2012 10:53:00 PM
Description: Yankees outfielder/DH Andruw Jones had quite a day Saturday in the Yankees doubleheader against Boston. Jones belted two homers in the first game and another in the nightcap.
Insight: Jones has received more playing time than expected due to the extended absence of Brett Gardner, and he's turned in 10 homers. He's worth considering in AL-only leagues for those in search of cheap pop.
6/30/2012 9:09:00 AM
Description: Do not expect Yankees outfielder/DH Andruw Jones to be in Saturday's lineup as he is a lifetime .048 batter (1-for-21) versus White Sox starter Jake Peavy with eight strikeouts.
Insight: Jones was solid in Friday's night's 4-3 loss to Chicago with two doubles and two RBI, but this is an extremely unfavorable matchup.
5/13/2012 9:33:00 AM
Description: Yankees outfielder Andruw Jones loves to hit against his former teammate in Atlanta - Kevin Millwood. In 16 at-bats, Jones is hitting .438 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI.

4/18/2012 9:49:00 AM
Description: Yankees outfielder Andruw Jones absolutely "owns" Minnesota starter Jason Marquis. Jones has faced Marquis 12 times during his career with nine hits (.750) including five home runs and 14 RBI. His OPS is a stunning 2.833.
Insight: Jones was 2-for-5 on Tuesday with his second home run of the year. Assuming Yankees manager Joe Girardi sees these same statistics we see, Jones should be in Wednesday's starting lineup. This is one of those times when you should pick up a player for one game only, play him and then release him tomorrow.
6/21/2011 9:54:00 AM
Description: Yankees OF Andruw Jones told reporters he rolled his ankle on a double-play ball over the weekend and might miss a day or two.
Insight: As soon as it happened (on the swing) he "took it easy down the line" and knew something wasn't right. If Jones is forced to miss any action, Brett Gardner (who doesn't play against lefties) will return to full-time duty.
5/25/2011 4:02:00 PM
Description: Andruw Jones hit two, two run homers in Wednesday's win over Bluejay's

Insight: He would be a bat off the bench for New York so he wouldn't have any mixed league value. But, his ability to hit a few homers could make him relevant in AL-Only leagues, especially since he wouldn't have enough at-bats to affect a team's batting average too much.
