Description: Extra innings certainly helped owners of Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau Wednesday, as he started off 0-for-4 but went 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBI in his last two at-bats.
Insight: The move to Coors Field has led to the resurrection of Morneau, who struggled in Target Field the last four years and PNC Park briefly in 2013. The 32-year-old now has a .346 average, a .984 OPS, five home runs and 17 RBI in 78 at-bats.

Description: Justin Morneau's resurgence continued Sunday in a loss to the Phillies.
Insight: He plated five of the Rockies' nine runs. Clearly the move to hitter-friendly Coors Field has been beneficial to Morneau's fantasy value. The former Twins slugger is hitting .367 with ten RBI at home this year.

Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau hit his third homer in the last seven games Saturday against the Phillies.
Insight: It was Morneau's first home run at home this year. The 32-year-old hasn't hit 20 home runs since 2009, but he should get there this year; Coors Field is a much better hitter's park than either Target Field or PNC Park.

Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is getting Friday's game off to rest with left-hander Madison Bumgarner on the mound for San Francisco, the team announced.
Insight: Morneau doesn't have a home run yet but is hitting .387 with two doubles, two RBI, three walks and just two Ks in 31 at-bats.

3/3/2014 10:47:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau hasn't played since the spring training opener due to a stiff neck, according to Thomas Harding of mlb.com.
Insight: Morneau hit 17 homers last season, but none in 25 games after joining the Pirates in a trade from the Twins. He'll go from playing in two of the worst offensive parks in baseball (Target Field and PNC Park) to one of the best (Coors Field) this season.

Insight: Morneau's power disappeared over the final month of the season but he should find it again in Colorado. Coors Field had the highest park factor in the majors last season. Twenty-five homers with an average in the .270 range seems like a reasonable expectation for fantasy owners.

Description: The Rockies are close to signing Justin Morneau to a two-year contract. SOURCE: Troy Renck, Denver Post
Insight: Morneau hasn't been an All-Star since 2010 and the .259 clip he hit for last season was well below his career average (.277). Then again, if he was ever going to have a bounceback season, hitter-friendly Coors Field is the perfect park for him to do it in.

Description: The Rockies are hoping to sign free agent first baseman Justin Morneau before the Winter Meetings begin on December 9th. SOURCE: Troy Renck, Denver Post
Insight: Morneau (.259, 17 HR, 77 RBI) was a borderline fantasy player last season and he should see a nice boost in production from the hitter-friendly conditions at Coors Field, assuming the two sides can work out a deal. Morneau would be replacing Todd Helton at first base.

Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Justin Morneau is sitting out Sunday's regular season finale against the Reds.
Insight: He's been splitting time at first base with Gaby Sanchez and Garrett Jones. At this stage of his career, Morneau (.259, 17 HR, 77 RBI) is only a borderline fantasy player.

9/11/2013 10:12:00 PM
Description: Pirates first baseman Justin Morneau was 6-for-27 in his first nine games with the team but he went 4-for-5 Wednesday against the Rangers.
Insight: Morneau snapped out of a 0-for-14 slump with the four-hit game but is still hitting just .203 over his last 59 at-bats.

8/31/2013 2:38:00 PM
Description: Twins first baseman Justin Morneau has been traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Insight: The Pirates were in need of first base help and traded for the best possible option on the market. After hitting seven homers prior to the All-Star break, Morneau has 10 in his last 41 games.

8/20/2013 10:40:00 PM
Description: Twins first baseman Justin Morneau went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBI Tuesday at Detroit.
Insight: After hitting seven homers prior to the All-Star break, Morneau now has seven in August and eight since the break. He has 15 homers, 72 RBIs and a .752 OPS in 508 plate appearances.

8/17/2013 6:32:00 PM
Description: Twins first baseman Justin Morneau is getting the night off Saturday against the White Sox.
Insight: Morneau struggles versus lefties (.217 AVG this season) so with Chris Sale pitching for Chicago, sitting him was a no-brainer. Joe Mauer will take over at first base.

8/14/2013 2:47:00 PM
Description: Minnesota first baseman Justin Morneau cleared waivers and could be traded if the right deal comes along.
Insight: Morneau remains a good run producer and has pounded out six home runs in 13 August games. If Morneau were to play every day in a better offense he could certainly have increased fantasy value.

Hot8/10/2013 8:22:00 PM
Description: Minnesota first baseman Justin Morneau is making up for lost time in August. He had just eight homers from April through the end of July, but he has blasted six longballs in 10 games this month.
Insight: Morneau remained a good run producer throughout the season despite lacking in the power department, but his fantasy value was limited. Suddenly, he's an option again for deep league owners and a must-own player in AL-only formats.

Hot 8/9/2013 8:55:00 PM
Description: Minnesota first baseman Justin Morneau cranked two homers including his seventh career grand slam Friday in the first game of a doubleheader against the White Sox.
Insight: The grand slam marked Morneau's 1300th career hit. He now has five homers in his last eight games. Before that, Morneau had just eight homers in his first 99 games of the season.

8/6/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Twins first baseman Justin Morneau is 13-for-35 (.371) with three homers against Royals right-hander James Shields.
Insight: Morneau is batting just .265 with 10 home runs and a .731 OPS in 442 plate appearances this year, but has had a solid week batting .308 with a pair of home runs and might be ready to take advantage of the favorable matchup.

8/1/2013 9:01:00 PM
Description: Twins first baseman Justin Morneau crushed a solo home run to deep center field Thursday versus the Royals.
Insight: Morneau is batting just .264 with nine home runs and a .725 OPS in 424 plate appearances this year and is only a fantasy option in AL-only formats.

7/31/2013 10:23:00 AM
Description: If the Twins don't trade Justin Morneau by Wednesday's deadline, he has a favorable matchup Wednesday night against the Royals.
Insight: Morneau is 8-for-22 (.364) with four doubles and two home runs against Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie. Morneau is no longer the hitter he once was -- he's batting .262 with eight home runs, 53 RBI and a .716 OPS in 97 games -- but he's a solid option Wednesday if he's still a member of the Minnesota organization.

Description: The Orioles have been scouting Minnesota first baseman Justin Morneau. SOURCE: Dan Connolly, Baltimore Sun
Insight: The O's could target Morneau (.267, 8 HR, 53 RBI) at the trade deadline. They've also been keeping an eye on Seattle sluggers Raul Ibanez and Kendrys Morales. Chris Davis plays first base so Morneau would be the DH if he came to Baltimore.
