Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is doubtful for Monday's game against Washington due to a stiff neck.
Insight: Morneau (.312, 13 HR, 60 RBI, .846 OPS) has missed three consecutive games to date. Charlie Culberson got another start at first base Sunday.

Hot7/3/2014 12:26:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau has batted .171 in 41 career at-bats against Dodgers starter Zack Greinke.
Insight: Morneau (.315, 13 HR, 58 RBI, .866 OPS) and Greinke were frequent opponents when both played in the AL Central. The Rockies first baseman hit .327 in June and went 3-for-7 in his first two games of July, but he's not a good option Thursday against Greinke.

Insight: Morneau (.304, 13 HR) has hit .408 with three home runs and 23 RBI in his last 13 games and is now second in the NL with 57 RBI. Colorado begins a seven-game road trip Thursday but will end the first half with a 10-game homestand.

Hot6/15/2014 1:54:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is getting the day off Sunday.
Insight: Morneau's bat is heating back up after a long slump. He's gone 10-for-20 (.500) with a homer and eight RBI in his last five games.

Cold6/1/2014 10:00:00 AM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau has hit .385 with two homers and a double in 13 at-bats against Indians starter Josh Tomlin.
Insight: Perhaps facing Tomlin Sunday will help Morneau break out of a 7-for-34 (.206) slump. If not, at least the Rockies will return to Denver Monday for a 10-game homestand. Morneau has hit .345 with a 1.005 OPS at Coors Field this season compared to .275 with an .806 OPS on the road.

5/30/2014 9:39:00 AM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is 5-for-12 with a home run against Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber.
Insight: Morneau is batting .312 with 10 homers and 33 RBI this season, though his pace has slowed over the past five games (.222).

5/28/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau has gone 10-for-33 with three home runs in his career against Phillies starter Roberto Hernandez.
Insight: Morneau has slumped with a .174 average in his last 23 at-bats, but he'll get Hernandez Wednesday.

5/18/2014 8:46:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau continued his brilliant season with a walkoff homer Sunday against the Padres.
Insight: It was one of two hits on the day for Morneau, who is now hitting .327 in 42 games this season. If this keeps up, Morneau could be MLB's Comeback Player of the Year in 2014.

Hot5/13/2014 10:51:00 AM
Description: Colorado first baseman Justin Morneau is a career .341 hitter (14-for-41) with four home runs against Royals starter James Shields.
Insight: Morneau missed some time recently with a stiff neck, but is back and should be a nice option in this favorable matchup. After a couple of lean years in Minnesota, the 2006 AL MVP appears to be regaining his stroke. He's batting .329 with eight homers and 29 RBI in 37 games this season.

Description: Colorado will be without first baseman Justin Morneau Thursday against Texas. SOURCE: Rockies PR on Twitter

5/4/2014 7:32:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau hit a solo homer in the ninth inning Sunday against the Mets.
Insight: The home run didn't mean anything to the 5-1 final score, but fantasy owners will take it. Morneau is batting .336 with seven round-trippers and 25 RBI this season.

5/1/2014 10:48:00 AM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is hitless in 11 at-bats against Mets starter Bartolo Colon.
Insight: Morneau, who struggled in Target Field the last four years and PNC Park briefly in 2013, seems to be having more fun in Colorado, batting .343 with six home runs and 22 RBI in 102 at-bats. However, this is an unfavorable matchup.

Hot4/23/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Extra innings certainly helped owners of Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau Wednesday, as he started off 0-for-4 but went 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBI in his last two at-bats.
Insight: The move to Coors Field has led to the resurrection of Morneau, who struggled in Target Field the last four years and PNC Park briefly in 2013. The 32-year-old now has a .346 average, a .984 OPS, five home runs and 17 RBI in 78 at-bats.

Hot4/20/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Justin Morneau's resurgence continued Sunday in a loss to the Phillies.
Insight: He plated five of the Rockies' nine runs. Clearly the move to hitter-friendly Coors Field has been beneficial to Morneau's fantasy value. The former Twins slugger is hitting .367 with ten RBI at home this year.

Hot4/19/2014 10:52:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau hit his third homer in the last seven games Saturday against the Phillies.
Insight: It was Morneau's first home run at home this year. The 32-year-old hasn't hit 20 home runs since 2009, but he should get there this year; Coors Field is a much better hitter's park than either Target Field or PNC Park.

4/11/2014 6:15:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is getting Friday's game off to rest with left-hander Madison Bumgarner on the mound for San Francisco, the team announced.
Insight: Morneau doesn't have a home run yet but is hitting .387 with two doubles, two RBI, three walks and just two Ks in 31 at-bats.

3/3/2014 10:47:00 PM
Description: Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau hasn't played since the spring training opener due to a stiff neck, according to Thomas Harding of mlb.com.
Insight: Morneau hit 17 homers last season, but none in 25 games after joining the Pirates in a trade from the Twins. He'll go from playing in two of the worst offensive parks in baseball (Target Field and PNC Park) to one of the best (Coors Field) this season.

12/4/2013 9:55:00 AM
Description: Justin Morneau's new deal with the Rockies will pay him $13 million over two years. SOURCE: Jon Heyman, CBS Sports
Insight: Morneau's power disappeared over the final month of the season but he should find it again in Colorado. Coors Field had the highest park factor in the majors last season. Twenty-five homers with an average in the .270 range seems like a reasonable expectation for fantasy owners.
