Description: Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez has been placed on the disabled list according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Insight: Gomez has a small tear in his hamstring and will be re-evaluated in a week after receiving a sortisone injection. The injury might require more than the 15 days to heal. Gerardo Parra should get the majority of the center field work, but Jean Segura could move into the leadoff slot which may help his fantasy production.

Description: Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez is hitless in his last 16 plate appearances, going 0-for-5 on Saturday against the Pirates.
Insight: Gomez was hitting extremely well just about 10 days ago, recording four multi-hit games in a week, but he is back in a slump, perhaps the biggest this year. Overall though, he has still basically reproduced his numbers from his breakout season a year ago. Gomez is hitting .281/.352/.467 with 21 home runs, 69 RBI and 33 stolen bases.

Insight: Despite a wrist injury at the beginning of the month, Gomez is batting .375/.488/.469 in September, so it might be hard to sit the center fielder. Just be wary this is a matchup he does not have much success in.

Insight: Gomez has been battling injuries lately, but his season numbers are still very good with a .287 batting average, 21 HR, 68 RBI, 88 runs and an .839 OPS. He's on a five-game hitting streal and should be a must start on Friday.

Insight: Gomez hit batting practice on Saturday and appeared fine. Gomez said that if he feels fine again on Sunday, then he will tell manager Ron Roenicke that he can play. Roenicke indicated, however, he would like to wait until Monday to insert Gomez into the lineup.

Insight: Gomez will likely be out at least two weeks, which hurts any owner that needed him for a postseason run. Oh, the Brewers will certainly miss him too as Tuesday was the first day since April 5 that Milwaukee was not in first place of the NL Central.
