Insight: Royals manager Ned Yost had said that Gordon would sit in some day games after a night game and here we are again as he sat last Thursday as well. Gordon is a career .252 hitter against left-handers vs. .275 against right-handers.

Insight: Royals manager Ned Yost had said that Gordon would sit in some day games after a night game and this is proof. Replacement Paulo Orlando will add speed for the Royals lineup. He batted .301 with 34 steals at Triple-A Omaha last season.

Insight: Gordon went 1-for-4 and his one hit was a double that scored Escobar in the sixth inning. He then scored on Eric Hosmer's single, and the Royals won Game 3 of the World Series, 3-2.

Insight: Gordon's home run broke a 5-5 tie in the 10th, but the Orioles came back to score in the bottom of the inning, so it was actually Mike Moustakas' two-run blast three at-bats after Gordon's solo shot that won the game. Gordon also had a bases-clearing double in the third on a broke-bat flair down the right field line. He is batting .316 with eight RBI in five postseason games.

Insight: Gordon has been struggling a bit lately with just one hit over his last 19 at-bats, so it was nice to see him break out. Overall, Gordon has really slumped in September, hitting just .149/.278/.239 in the month.
