Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs in the, 8-5, victory over the Indians on Sunday.
Insight: Cabrera was a Cleveland killer, going 11-for-14 in the weekend series. He hit the first two home runs of the season on Sunday with four RBI and three runs. In his last at-bat, Cleveland intentionally walked him. It's safe to say Cabrera is over the sugery he had in the offseason. Detroit and Cleveland combined to score 13 runs in the sixth inning and later. There was also two lead changes and a tie after the fifth. Cabrera's RBI-single in the seventh game the Tigers a, 4-3, lead. He then scored as a part of the four-run ninth.

Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera had two hits and two RBI in the, 11-0, victory over the Twins on Wednesday.
Insight: Despite the sub-40 degree temperature in Detroit, the Tigers bats were hot. Cabrera had an RBI-double in the third and then an RBI-single in the fifth. He is an elite fantasy option even at 31 years old.

4/6/2015 10:05:00 AM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera "owns" Minnesota starter Phil Hughes, the Twins opening day starter.
Insight: OK, Miggy "owns" a lot of pitchers, but he's a stunning .516 hitter (16-of-31) with five homers, 12 RBI and a 1.674 OPS versus the right-hander.

3/21/2015 3:52:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (foot) said he feels great.
Insight: This was after hitting and running on Saturday, and as a result, Cabrera hopes to make his Grapefruit League debut on Sunday. The signs continue to trend in the right direction for him to be ready for Opening Day.

3/14/2015 6:54:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera, along with first baseman/designated hitter Victor Martinez, ran the bases for the first time this spring.
Insight: Cabrera is recovering from foot surgery from October while Martinez had surgery to repair his medial meniscus about a month ago. It is a great sign to see both running the bases. Both players have a good chance to play Opening Day and should be taken as they normally would in fantasy drafts.

3/8/2015 10:44:00 AM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (foot) started taking grounders on Saturday.
Insight: This is another step in the right direction. Cabrera is looking more and more likely for Opening Day.

3/2/2015 4:04:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (foot) took live batting practice for the first time this spring according to beat writer Anthony Fenech.
Insight: He isn't running yet, but owners should be cautiously optimistic about Cabrera being ready for Opening Day. He batted .313 with 25 HR, 109 RBI and an .895 OPS in what fantasy owners would call a "down" year after two MVP seasons in 2012-13.

2/18/2015 3:40:00 PM

1/12/2015 4:04:00 PM
Description: According to Anthony Fenech of the free press, Miguel Cabrera isn't likely to be ready for the start of spring training.
Insight: We don't care as long as he's ready to go on Opening Day. Cabera had surgery to remove bone spurs in his right ankle in October. This note speaks more to the fact that even though he's only 31, he's played 1,819 games in his career and in the last 10 seasons he's played 157 or more games eight times. That wear and tear could take its toll.

10/3/2014 4:48:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has three-hit afternoon.
Insight: Cabrera is now 4-for-7 in the series with a homer and two runs scored. The reigning two-time MVP may need to think about pitching out of the bullpen for Detroit, as the team's relievers are the biggest reason why the Tigers are on the brink of elimination.

10/2/2014 9:38:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera hits first homer of ALDS.
Insight: It was a big homerun at the time, as he cut Baltimore's lead to 4-3 during the top of the eighth inning. However, the Tigers imploded in the bottom half of the inning, making the homer moot. Cabrera is still one of the most feared hitters in baseball.

10/2/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is a career 5-for-13 (.385) with a home run and four RBI against Baltimore right-hander Chris Tillman.
Insight: So what else is new? Isn't Cabrera a .300 hitter against most everyone? His 2014 numbers were "just" .313 with 25 HR, 109 RBI and an .895 OPS. He's been just a .273 career hitter in the postseason with an .870 OPS and 26 walks as he gets pitched around more frequently.

9/26/2014 10:54:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera tried to single-handedly win the American League Central for Detriot on Friday.
Insight: Cabrera was animated on Friday as a victory and a Royals loss would have given the Tigers the division title. Cabrera went 3-for-4 with two RBI, which both came in the fifth inning as the Tigers cut into the Twins lead, 6-3. Just when it looked like the Tigers could come back, Minnesota scored four runs in the sixth and won, 11-4. If the Royals hold on to win on Friday, the Tigers will have just a game lead in the central with two to go.

9/25/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera clubs 24th homer of 2014.
Insight: It was a solo shot off Twins' starter Trevor May. Miggy now has 107 RBI on the year, in a somewhat "down" season.

9/23/2014 10:30:00 PM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera hit a walkoff single to score Ian Kinsler as Detroit defeated the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, on Tuesday.
Insight: The two-time AL MVP was 2-for-5 with one RBI, the game-winner. He was not able to repeat his 2012 and 2013 season this year, but he still has monster numbers, .314/.375/.520 with 23 home runs and 105 RBI.

Hot9/21/2014 9:51:00 AM
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has a juicy matchup Sunday afternoon against Kansas City.
Insight: He will be swinging against Jeremy Guthrie, whom he is 16-for-46 against (.340), with three homeruns and 12 RBI. Miggy has been on fire of late, and could be carrying you to a fantasy title.
