Description: Tigers starter Drew Smyly will make his first start of the season Wednesday against the Indians.
Insight: Smyly's first start was skipped due to a rainout. He has recorded a 3.18 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP and 181 Ks in 181 1/3 innings in his career, with 70 of his 88 appearances coming in relief. He's worth owning in most leagues.

Insight: Anibal Sanchez will start on Friday with Rick Porcello and Justin Verlander on the weekend. These things happen in the first couple of weeks, but it shouldn't change your opinion of Smyly.

Insight: Smyly went 4-3 with a 4.22 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 85 1/3 innings earlier this season but he's made his last four appearances out of the bullpen. He's worth a spot start in AL-only leagues against the lowly Twins.

Insight: Smyly (2-2, 3.96 ERA) seems to be cooling off. He's allowed at least three runs in each of his last six starts after going 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA to start the year. Smyly should be back pitching for Detroit before the end of the month.

Description: Detroit lefty Drew Smyly is questionable for Saturday's scheduled start against Colorado with a blister on the left middle finger.
Insight: Smyly has produced solid numbers this season with a 3.96 ERA, 1.272 WHIP and 58 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings. All three statistcs are better than the AL average for starters. With a strong Tigers offense behind him he could have fantasy value.
