Insight: Washington's strategy of loading up on starting pitching isn't exactly working as the bullpen and defense has caused the team to start 1-4. Fister allowed no runs on six hits, struck out one and walked one versus the Phillies. It's still very early, though, the Nationals will be fine.

Insight: Fister spent the first five weeks of the season on the disabled list with a strained lat and allowed nine hits and seven runs (five earned) over 4 1/3 innings in his 2014 debut on May 9. He's posted an ERA in the range of 3.33-3.67 in each of the last three seasons and should improve now that he's in the NL East.
