Insight: Dunn has contemplated retirement in the past but insists it's not on his mind right now. The 34-year-old is 39th on MLB's all-time home run list with 440 jacks in 6,454 career at bats. Dunn made headlines earlier this week with the news that he might be present at the Oscars after playing a small role in the Academy Award-nominated Dallas Buyers Club.

Cold9/26/2013 9:34:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn is 4-for-26 (.154) with 12 strikeouts against Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie.
Insight: Dunn hit .286 with 22 homers, 61 RBI and a .945 OPS from May 14 to Aug. 17, but he bookended that with a .133 average, six homers, 12 RBI and a .535 OPS from April 1 to May 13 and a .115 average, four homers, 10 RBI and a .431 OPS from Aug. 18 to Sept. 24. It's safe to drop him.

Cold9/24/2013 12:01:00 PM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn has struck out 16 times in 29 official at bats versus Cleveland starter Ubaldo Jimenez.
Insight: Since June, Dunns OPS has dropped in each month to a low of .457 in September with just two homers. If he's not hitting the long ball, he's of no value to fantasy owners.

Cold9/22/2013 10:13:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn shouldn't be started with Anibal Sanchez on the mound Sunday.
Insight: In fact, you might want to drop Dunn altogether. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since August 17 and is hitting .120 (12-for-100) over his last 29 games. He's 7-for-30 (.233) with zero homers and 14 K against Sanchez.

9/14/2013 10:30:00 AM
Description: Keep away from Chicago first baseman/DH Adam Dunn on Saturday.
Insight: Dunn is a career .172 hitter with 16 strikeouts in 29 at-bats against Saturday starter Ubaldo Jimenez.

9/7/2013 10:40:00 AM
Description: Chicago first baseman/DH Adam Dunn is not in Saturday's starting lineup.
Insight: Dunn's batting average has been much better in the second half (.247), but at the expense of home runs. He hit 24 in 87 first-half games and just six in 45 games after the break.

Cold9/4/2013 12:17:00 PM
Description: Chicago first baseman/DH Adam Dunn has been ice cold at the plate (two for his last 21) and Wednesday's meeting with CC Sabathia probably won't help matters.
Insight: Dunn's career average versus Sabathia is a pathetic .156 in 32 at bats. The free swinger has whiffed 16 times in his last ten appearances.

9/4/2013 10:18:00 AM
Description: Ken Rosenthal from Fox Sports is hearing that White Sox DH/1B Adam Dunn may retire after the season.
Insight: He still has a year left on his contract and with 30 HR in 130 games this season, he's having a typical Adam Dunn year. So why would he quit? Well, perhaps it's because the game just isn't fun for him anymore. "I'm not coming back to chase home run numbers or whatever," Dunn told Rosenthal. "If I end up with 499 and I'm not having fun, see ya - 499 it is." As it stands now, the power-hitting Dunn is 41st on the all-time home run list with 436 blasts in 1,851 big league appearances.

8/25/2013 10:28:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Adam Dunn hit his 29th home run of the season Saturday against Texas.
Insight: Dunn has been a .301 hitter since early June, but as his average has increased his power has dropped off just a bit. He only has five home runs over his last 40 games.

8/21/2013 11:30:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Adam Dunn is 3-for-23 (.130) with 11 strikeouts against Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie.
Insight: Dunn's batting average is up (.237) and his strikeouts are down (139 in 418 at-bats), but he's still not producing at his 2002-2010 level.

8/15/2013 10:36:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Adam Dunn has taken Twins starter Mike Pelfrey deep twice in their previous meetings and is 8-for-33 with five extra-base hits and eight walks against him.
Insight: After receiving horrific luck on balls in play over his first 55 games -- he had a .162 BABIP and a .156 average in that span -- Dunn has hit .366 on balls and play and .310 overall over his last 58 games. However, he only has three home runs over his last 31 games.

8/14/2013 9:32:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Adam Dunn is a career .353 hitter with a pair of home runs versus Detroit right-hander Rick Porcello.
Insight: The big man is actually hitting .294 since the All-Star break although he has just three homers in 25 games versus the first half when he blasted 24 home runs in 87 games, but batted .213. Which Dunn would you prefer? Wednesday you might get both the power and the average.

8/7/2013 10:06:00 AM
Description: Don't expect much from White Sox DH/1B Adam Dunn, who has never hit a home run against Yankees left-hander C.C. Sabathia, in 33 plate appearances.
Insight: He's struck out 12 of the 33 times and owns an ugly .419 OPS. Sit him on Wednesday.

8/6/2013 10:54:00 AM
Description: White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn has a .588 OBP in 17 plate appearances against Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda.
Insight: Most of the time (7) he's taking a walk, but he's also knocked out three hits and a home run against Kuroda.

8/4/2013 6:22:00 PM
Description: White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn slammed four hits Sunday in a loss to Detroit.
Insight: Sunday was Dunn's second four-hit game of the season. Dunn's batting average has actually increased since the start of Chicago's 10-game losing streak (.212 to .226).

7/29/2013 11:16:00 AM
Description: White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn has a home run in 11 at-bats versus Cleveland starter Zach McAllister, but has also struck out eight times and walked three times.
Insight: In typical fashion, Dunn hasn't actually put the ball in play much in this matchup. Dunn had gone 13 straight games without hitting a homer until he hit one on Sunday afternoon, but you should still avoid this matchup.
