Description: David Ross will get another start at catcher Wednesday in Game 6 of the World Series.
Insight: It appears he's overtaken Jarrod Saltalamacchia and will start the rest of the series. Ross delivered a huge hit in Game 5 to put Boston ahead 2-1 in the seventh inning. Overall, he's hitting .286 in the postseason with a .429 slugging percentage.

Insight: Jarrod Saltalamacchia has been useless at the plate this postseason (.188 AVG in 32 at bats) and he's also made a number of critical mistakes in the field. Look for Ross to also start Game 5 when Jon Lester returns to the mound.

Insight: This was to be expected as Ross has now caught three of Jon Lester's four postseason starts. If the Red Sox find themselves in a hole and need offense later in the game, Jarrod Saltalamacchia will be available to replace Ross off the bench.

Insight: Ryan Lavarnway was sent down to Triple-A to make room for Ross on the active roster. Concussions have limited Ross to just 23 games this season. He's not in Monday's starting lineup but he should be available off the bench.

Insight: Saltalamacchia figures to get the Opening Day assignment, but if manager John Farrell does stick Ross behind the plate he offers solid fantasy value.

Description: Former Braves catcher David Ross has agreed to join the Boston Red Sox. The deal will be worth $6 million over two seasons.
Insight: Ross played well as Brian McCann's backup last season, contributing nine homers and 23 RBI in just 62 games. He is also an excellent defensive player. Ross should be a strong complement to starting catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia (career-high 25 HR for the Red Sox in 2012).

Insight: Ross got the surprise start at catcher over perennial All-Star Brian McCann and the move paid off for the Braves as Ross blew up for three hits. McCann entered the game as a pinch-hitter later on and worked a two-out walk in the bottom of the eighth.
