The Red Sox optioned reliever Junichi Tazawa to Triple-A Pawtucket to make room for the shortstop. | Insight: With Kevin Youkilis still ailing from a sore back, it seems like the Red Sox are adding an infielder in case Youkilis ends up on the disabled list. The surprise here is that Iglesias was chosen over Boston's third baseman of the future, Will Middlebrooks. Iglesias has hit just .200 this season for Pawtucket while Middlebrooks has been arguably the best hitter in the minor leagues in 2012 (.348, 9 HRs, 27 RBIs in 23 games). | | |
