Description: Cubs starter Jon Lester is still looking for his first win as a member of his new team.

4/19/2015 6:28:00 PM
Description: Cubs starter Jon Lester continues to struggle in his Chicago uniform as he allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings and took the lost on Sunday to the Padres.
Insight: Lester allowed six hits, two walks and struck out four. He tossed up a home run to Will Middlebrooks in the second that tied the game at two. Lester is 0-2 this season with a 6.89 ERA. Still, there's no need to panic yet.

4/5/2015 11:30:00 PM
Description: Cubs starter Jon Lester did not look sharp in his Chicago debut at Wrigley Field on Sunday.
Insight: Lester allowed two runs in the first two innings and just looked a little anxious. The ESPN broadcasters talked about how he warmed up a lot before the game, so perhaps he was a little too amped up for this one. He allowed three runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. Lester also struck out six and walked two. Fantasy owners have no need to worry, though, Lester will be fine.

4/5/2015 10:08:00 AM
Description: Cubs starter Jon Lester will make his National League debut on Sunday night.
Insight: Lester has just one start at Wrigley field over the past three seasons (1-0), so it is tough to gauge how effective he will be. Nevertheless, we expect big things from Lester in his first season in the NL.

3/2/2015 4:32:00 PM
Description: Cubs starter Jon Lester will start on Opening Day.
Insight: Technically it is Opening Night, as Chicago and St. Louis will kick off the season on Sunday, April 5. Lester was brought in to be the Cubs' ace, and will have a steep opening test against a tough offense, along with likely being opposed by Adam Wainwright.

12/10/2014 9:00:00 AM
Description: The Chicago Cubs made perhaps the biggest free-agent signing of the offseason agreeing to a six-year, $155 million deal with Jon Lester according to FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal.
Insight: According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Red Sox offered six-years, $135 million, so Lester went with the bigger contract. Perhaps Boston was hoping for a hometown discount because its unlikely the organization couldn't have offered him $155 million. Lester will be at the top of the Cubs rotation that includes Jake Arrieta and Jason Hammel.

Description: Athletics starter Jon Lester allowed six runs over seven 1/3 innings, struck out five and walked two in the loss to the Royals in the American League Wild Card game on Tuesday.
Insight: Lester settled in after a rocky start that led to three Kansas City runs in the first three innings. Manager Bob Melvin likely stuck with Lester for too long as the Royals rallied in the eigth inning. Easy to second guess now. Lester was charged with three runs in the eighth, two of which scored after he exited. This was likely his last game for Oakland as Lester is a free agent this winter.

Hot7/31/2014 12:17:00 PM
Description: In a blockbuster move, the Red Sox have traded left-hander Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes to the Oakland Athletics for Yoenis Cespedes.
Insight: Lester (10-7, 2.52 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 149 Ks) has picked a great time to have his best season, as the 30-year-old will be a free agent at season's end. He'll join one of the top teams in baseball and get to pitch in one of the best pitcher's parks. He's made it known he's willing to rejoin the Red Sox, but they'll have to offer more than the $70 million over four years they proposed during spring training. Either Jason Hammel or Jesse Chavez will lose their spot in Oakland's rotation as a result of the trade.

Hot7/29/2014 11:06:00 PM
Description: Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester has officially been scratched from Wednesday's start due to ongoing trade discussions, according to Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com. Brandon Workman will start in his place.
Insight: Rob Bradford of WEEI reports that Lester could be traded as soon as Tuesday night. Lester (10-7, 2.52 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 149 Ks) has picked a great time to have his best season, as the 30-year-old will be a free agent at season's end. Even if he's traded before the deadline he's made it known he's willing to rejoin the Red Sox.

Description: Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester dominated the Royals Sunday for his 10th win of the year.
Insight: Lester struck out eight and gave up four hits over eight scoreless frames. The left-hander has a career-low 2.50 ERA and his 9.33 K/9 is his best since 2010. He's allowed one earned run on 21 hits while recording a 33/4 K/BB in his last 31 innings.

Hot7/10/2014 10:14:00 AM
Description: Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester pitched like an ace again Thursday, but didn't get the win because his bullpen let him down.
Insight: Lester went seven innings and gave up one run on seven hits while striking out 12. His ERA as down to 2.65 which should normally amount to a better record than 9-7. I blame the offense more than the bullpen as three of his losses have come when he's yielded two runs or less.

Insight: Over his previous five starts, Lester has a 0.95 ERA and 0.849 WHIP. He didn't get the win today, but he's helped your ERA, WHIP and strikeout totals.

Description: Red Sox lefty Jon Lester outdueled Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka Saturday night.
Insight: Lester allowed one run (zero earned) on five hits and struck out six in eight innings to improve to 9-7. He threw his last pitch with the score tied at one, but Mike Napoli went yard in the top of the ninth to make a winner out of the left-hander.
