Description: San Diego third baseman Chase Headley (biceps strain) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Giants, according to Jeff Sanders of the Union-Tribune.
Insight: Headley didn't start the last three games. He's hitting just .176 with one homer and four RBI this season after a down year in 2013. At this point, 2012 looks like a massive aberration.

Cold4/16/2014 11:15:00 AM
Description: Padres third baseman Chase Headley is 8-for-36 (.222) with zero extra-base hits and 11 strikeouts against Jorge De La Rosa of Colorado.
Insight: Another cold start (.160, 1 HR, 11 Ks) has us skeptical we'll ever see the 2012 version of Headley (.286, 31 HR, 115 RBI) again. Remove that season and Headley has just 50 career homers in 683 games.

4/15/2014 10:50:00 AM
Description: Padres third baseman Chase Headley is a career .500 hitter (6-for-12) with a pair of long balls against Colorado right-hander Juan Nicasio.
Insight: He's off to a slow start (.174, 1 HR, 4 RBI). We're still not sure which Headley we're going to see in 2014 after his disappointing 2013 season and MVP-worthy 2012 season.

We're not sure what to expect from Headley after his disappointing 2013 season (.250, 13 HR, 50 RBI). He shows up at No. 8 in our TSN third baseman rankings.
