It was the seventh no-hitter in the big leagues this season and 15th in Reds history. | Insight: Of course, it came on the road. Of course, it was on the road, where Bailey is 7-2 with a 2.75 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. | Insight: Bailey stinks at home, registering a 5.58 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 14 starts at the Great American Ballpark. Description: Reds starter Homer Bailey allowed four runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings Sunday against the Pirates to drop to 9-7. | Insight: Our theory that Bailey should only be used away from Great American Ballpark continues to hold true. The Reds will begin a seven-game road trip Sunday, so Bailey is safe to use his next start, which will take place at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

Description: Reds starter Homer Bailey shut out the Astros on four hits in seven innings Wednesday despite five walks. Bailey has won four straight decisions and hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his five starts. | Insight: Bailey (9-6, 3.53 ERA) is still a better play on the road, where he is 6-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 10 starts, but the right-hander tossed eight innings and allowed one earned run in each of his last two home starts so perhaps he's figured out how to keep the ball in the Great American Ballpark.

Description: Reds starter Homer Bailey had his best home start of the season Sunday against the Cardinals, tossing eight strong innings to win his third straight start. | Insight: Bailey had his start moved up to Sunday with Johnny Cueto dealing with a blister. The right-hander came in 1-4 with a 5.86 ERA in eight home starts, and even though he handled St. Louis, he still shouldn't be trusted when starting at the Great American Ballpark.

Description: Reds starter Homer Bailey will start on the road against the Dodgers Monday, which should make him a solid streaming option. | Insight: Bailey allowed four earned runs in each of his last two starts, but both of those came at the Great American Ballpark. In seven road starts, Bailey is 4-2 with a 3.09 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. Just two of the 14 homers Bailey has allowed have come on the road.

| Hot | 6/5/2012 10:49:00 PM |
Description: One start after holding Pittsburgh to one run in a complete game win, Cincinnati starter Homer Bailey didn't last past the third inning Tuesday against the Pirates. Description: Homer Bailey tossed his third straight quality start on Thursday, giving up two runs on four hits in six innings against the Braves to improve to 3-3. | Insight: Bailey has posted an ERA in the mid-4s in the past three seasons. He currently has a 4.19 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP, but seven of his nine starts were quality starts of six innings or more and three earned runs or less. His one blemish is the start on May 8 against Milwaukee in which he gave up six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. If you remove that start, Bailey's numbers look a lot better -- 3-2 with a 3.48 ERA. Take a shot with Bailey, you can always cut him loose if more starts like May 8 start popping up.
