American League Game Summary - Toronto at Baltimore

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Jason Hammel tossed seven shutout innings,
while Chris Davis and Wilson Betemit both smacked a solo home run as the
Baltimore Orioles took down the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-0, in the second test of
a three-game set.
Hammel (3-0) fanned seven while allowing just four hits and one walk, and
Pedro Strop notched his second save of the season after Brett Lawrie grounded
into a game-ending, 6-4-3 double play.
Adam Jones added an RBI double for Baltimore, which has won three straight.
Eric Thames had two hits for the Blue Jays, who got six innings of two-run
ball from Kyle Drabek (2-1).
Betemit smacked a solo homer to dead center field, just out of the reach of
Colby Rasmus, to give Baltimore a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Toronto's best opportunity to score runs off of Hammel came in the fourth, but
Rasmus struck out swinging with the bases loaded.
In Baltimore's half of the fourth, Davis laced a solo shot to left field
to make it 2-0.
Baltimore added an insurance run in eighth. Nick Markakis worked a two-out
walk and Jones lined a double down the left-field line to bring him home.
Adam Lind and Thames began the ninth with back-to-back singles, but Edwin
Encarnacion flied out to center field and Lawrie grounded into a double play
to end the game.
Game Notes
The Blue Jays turned four double plays in the game, giving them an MLB-leading
30 for the season...Betemit committed two fielding errors...Toronto was 1-
for-5 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base...The
Orioles announced Wednesday that they placed infielder Robert Andino on the
paternity list and recalled right-handed pitcher Jason Berken from Triple-A
Norfolk.
