NOTES:The European Tour returns to South Africa for the third time in the
last four weeks for the inaugural Tshwane Open in Centurion. The event is co- sanctioned by the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. Richard Sterne won three weeks ago at the Joburg Open in Johannesburg, while Darren Fichardt captured the Africa Open two weeks ago in East London. Simon Dyson is the highest- ranked player in the field at No. 83 in the world.

Jose Maria Olazabal is also in the field this week. Olazabal captained the European Ryder Cup team to victory last year. He has 23 victories on the European Tour and won the 1994 and 1999 Masters.

The tournament is being held at Copperleaf Golf & Country Estate, which was designed by South African legend Ernie Els and opened for play in 2006. The course was built on land once lived on by Els' grandfather. The par-5, 685-yard fourth hole will be the longest hole played in European Tour history.

This is the second of four new events on the European Tour International schedule for 2013. Scott Jamieson won the Nelson Mandela Championship in December in South Africa. The Russian Masters will be staged in July, while the Turkish Open will be played in November.

The European Tour travels back to the United States next week, as the best players in the world compete at the WGC-Cadillac Championship in Florida, where Justin Rose will defend his title.
