Devan Dubnyk, G12/17/2014 9:38:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Devan Dubnyk allowed just one goal during Tuesday's overtime victory against the Oilers.
Insight: He made 31 saves, but continues to backup Mike Smith. Dubnyk is now 6-2-2 with a 2.55 GAA and .922 save percentage.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D12/17/2014 9:35:00 AM
Description: Arizona blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson netted the overtime winner Tuesday versus Edmonton.
Insight: It was his seventh goal of the season, and he now has 15 points through 31 games. With a minus-12 rating, there are better options out there.
Devan Dubnyk, G12/14/2014 10:10:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Devan Dubnyk posted a better save percentage than his opposing goalie but got the loss.
Insight: Dubnyk made 32 saves on 35 shots whereas Nicklas Backstrom had 27 saves on 30 shots, but Backstrom did better in the shootout. Dubnyk has decent numbers, 5-2-2, 2.74 GAA and .917 save percentage, as Mike Smith's backup, but what is frustrating fantasy owners is the fact he has yet to take over the starting role. Dubnyk is 0-2-1 in his last three starts which will not win him the job.
Devan Dubnyk, G12/6/2014 10:57:00 PM
Description: Arizona goalie Devan Dubnyk was pulled during Saturday's loss to the Bruins.
Insight: He allowed four goals on 20 shots before getting the hook. Mike Smith took over and stopped 8-of-9 shots on goal. Smith remains the lead dog.
Mikkel Boedker, LW12/6/2014 10:52:00 PM
Description: Coyotes left winger Mikkel Boedker scored during Saturday's loss to the Bruins.
Insight: He now has nine goals and 17 points overall. After not being a relevant player heading into the season, Boedker needs to be on everybody's radar.
Mike Smith, G12/3/2014 9:58:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Mike Smith allowed four goals in Tuesday's loss to Calgary.
Insight: He made 19 saves, and dropped his record to a brutal 5-12-2, with a 3.23 GAA and .891 save percentage.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D12/3/2014 9:55:00 AM
Description: Arizona blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored his fifth goal of the season during Tuesday's loss to the Flames.
Insight: He now has 12 points on the season, but is a dreadful minus-13 as well. Ekman-Larsson has scored a goal in each of the past two games.
Devan Dubnyk, G11/30/2014 10:28:00 AM
Description: Arizona goalie Devan Dubnyk had his first bad game of the season on Saturday.
Insight: Dubnyk went 5-0-1 to start this season, but on Saturday versus the Flames, he allowed three goals on 29 shots. That's not much better than the Coyotes regular starter Mike Smith, so if Dubnyk really wants to take over the goaltending job in Arizona, he will have to be better.
Mike Smith, G11/26/2014 9:57:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Mike Smith blew a golden opportunity to capture a victory.
Insight: Arizona jumped out 3-0 in the first period, but slowly gave it away to the Avalanche. The game was tied by the 4:05 mark of the third period. Smith allowed a fourth goal in overtime. Smith made 31 saves on 35 shots. At least he helped the Coyotes to one point, but Smith is still just 4-11-2 this season.
Devan Dubnyk, G11/23/2014 10:57:00 AM
Description: Arizona goalie Devan Dubnyk suffered his first loss of the season, Saturday against San Jose.
Insight: He has yet to lose in regulation however, and stopped 40-of-43 shots on goal. Dubnyk is now 5-0-1 this season, and should continue to push Mike Smith for playing time.
Shane Doan, RW11/23/2014 10:52:00 AM
Description: Coyotes winger Shane Doan recorded two points during Saturday's shootout win against the Sharks.
Insight: He had a goal and an assist, along with two shots on goal, four penalty minutes, and a +1 rating on the night. Doan has been a solid contributor this season, and now has 14 points through 21 games.
Mike Smith, G11/19/2014 10:02:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Mike Smith's struggles continued on Tuesday night.
Insight: He did not play poorly, stopping 22-of-24 shots on goal, but took the loss in overtime. Smith is now 4-9-1 with a 3.31 GAA and .890 save percentage.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D11/19/2014 9:57:00 AM
Description: Arizona blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the team's lone goal in Tuesday's loss to Washington.
Insight: It was his third goal of the season, and he now has 10 points overall. While the point toal is nice, Ekman-Larsson is a dreadful -9 on the season.
Devan Dubnyk, G11/15/2014 9:50:00 AM
Description: Arizona goalie Devan Dubnyk pitched a shutout Friday night against Vancouver.
Insight: He stopped all 35 shots, and is now 3-0-1 on the season, but is clearly the backup to Mike Smith.
Keith Yandle, D11/15/2014 9:46:00 AM
Description: Arizona defenseman Keith Yandle had three points in Friday's victory against the Canucks.
Insight: He had a goal and two assists, along with four shots on goal and +2 ratingon the night. Yandle has been great this season, with 14 total points in 17 games.

Description: Coyotes center Martin Hanzal recorded a hat trick in Friday's win over Vancouver.
Insight: He now has five goals and 11 points on the season, but owners need to see a little more before he can inserted into lineups.
Thomas Greiss, G11/14/2014 3:38:00 PM
Description: Penguins backup goalie Thomas Greiss will make his third start of the season Friday night.
Insight: Marc-Andre Fleury has been the workhorse again this season. Greiss is 1-0 with a 2.42 GAA and .923 save percentage this season.
Mike Smith, G11/12/2014 10:15:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Mike Smith struggled in the second and third period in the loss to the Stars on Tuesday.
Insight: Smith did not allow a goal until late in the second period, but then allowed three straight and a fourth goal, shorthanded, late in the third period as Arizona lost, 4-3. Of course, the Coyotes defense directly led to that great first period as Smith only faced six shots. He is now 4-8-0 on the season.
Mike Smith, G11/8/2014 10:32:00 PM
Description: Coyotes goalie Mike Smith played well in a losing effort.
Insight: He stopped 31-of-32 shots, but lost a tough game to the Islanders 1-0. Smith is 4-7-0, but is owners should still consider him a decent option in net, moving forward.
Mike Smith, G11/8/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Mike Smith made 37 saves in a, 3-2, shootout victory against the Ducks.
Insight: Anaheim outshot Arizona, 25-to-39, but behind Smith's strong goaltending, the two teams were tied at the end of overtime. Smith made one stop in the shootout, and another player missed the net as Smith won fifth game of the season.
Shane Doan, RW11/8/2014 10:21:00 AM
Description: Coyotes winger Shane Doan scored his fourth goal of the season on Friday.
Insight: Doan tied the game at two in the first five minutes of the second period. There was no further scoring, and Arizona won, 3-2, in a shootout. Doan nine points in 13 games to start the season.
Mike Smith, G11/5/2014 9:32:00 AM
Description: Phoenix goalie Mike Smith made 28 saves in a 3-2 win Tuesday against the Maple Leafs.
Insight: He is now 3-6-0 with a 3.63 GAA and .880 save percentage. Owners would like to see drastic improvement soon.
Antoine Vermette, C11/5/2014 9:29:00 AM
Description: Coyotes center Antoine Vermette scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal, Tuesday against Toronto.
Insight: He made it 3-0 in the second period, and Arizona held onto a 3-2 win. Vermette now has three goals and nine points on the season. Martin Erat and Sam Gagner also scored for the Coyotes.
Mike Smith, G10/30/2014 10:10:00 PM
Description: Phoenix goalie Mike Smith suffered his fifth loss of the season, Thursday against the Panthers.
Insight: He made 24 saves on 26 shots, but it was not enough. Smith is 2-5-0 on the season, but owners should expect some wins to come soon.
Mike Smith, G10/28/2014 10:35:00 PM
Description: Phoenix goalie Mike Smith had a game to forget.
Insight: Smith allowed six goals on 33 shots. That's a .818 save percentage. That will certainly hurt the goalie categories in roto leagues.

Description: Coyotes forward Lauri Korpikoski left Tuesday's game against the Lightning after blocking a shot.
Insight: Korpikoski blocked a shot with the outside of his foot and went into the locker room.

Insight: He made 23 saves in a 2-1 victory, and is now 2-3-0 with a supbar 3.80 GAA and .867 save percentage. However, owners should expect his numbers to improve over the next few weeks.
Keith Yandle, D10/26/2014 10:04:00 AM
Description: Arizona defenseman Keith Yandle continued his solid early-season play.
Insight: He had two assists and seven shots on goal, and now has eight points on the season. Yandle will continue to give solid production, from a fantasy standpoint.
Thomas Greiss, G10/23/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: Penguins backup goalie Thomas Greiss looked poised to pickup his first victory of the season until the Red Wings scored two goals in the final three minutes of the third period.
Insight: Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall scored the late third-period goals to tie the game at 3-3. Pittsburgh had a chance to put the game "on ice" with an empty net goal, but they were unable to convert. Justin Abdelkader scored the game-winner with 46 seconds left in overtime. Greiss stopped 31-of-35 shots.
Martin Hanzal, C10/23/2014 12:39:00 PM
Description: Coyotes center Martin Hanzal didn't travel with the team to Minnesota due to a lower body injury.
Insight: Hanzal (15 G, 25 A last season) hasn't played more than 65 games in any of the past four season, so an injury this early in the season is disappointing, but not unexpected. He has a goal and two assists in four games this season.
Keith Yandle, D10/21/2014 10:53:00 PM
Description: Arizona defenseman Keith Yandle had a big game on Tuesday night.
Insight: He had a goal and an assist, along with a +1 rating and nine shots on goal. It was Yandle's first goal of the season, and he now has six points overall. He will continue to be a solid fantasy option.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D10/12/2014 10:09:00 AM
Description: Arizona blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored his first goal of the season on Saturday night.
Insight: He also had an impressive eight shots on goal. After producing 44 points a season ago, we expect a similar line for this season.
Shane Doan, RW10/3/2014 10:52:00 AM
Description: Coyotes winger Shane Doan enters his 19th season and at 37-years-old isn't the 60-70 point guy he once was.
Insight: Doan can still generate 40-50 points and help his younger linemates to new heights, but you shouldn't expect too much in the way of fantasy value unless he finds the Fountain of Youth. Still, he might have value on your bench as an occasional fill-in.
Mikkel Boedker, LW10/3/2014 10:49:00 AM
Description: Coyotes left winger Mikkel Boedker begins his seventh NHL season, though he's still only 24-years-old and coming off a career-high 51 points (19 G, 32 A).
Insight: Boedker's projections are for him to plateau at this level with a 52-point season (20 G, 32). He might have a chance to go higher if Hanzal can stay healthy for a full season and Shane Doan can find some of the old magic.
Martin Hanzal, C10/3/2014 10:44:00 AM
Description: Coyotes center Martin Hanzal's fantasy value is limited by his inability to stay healthy.
Insight: Hanzal (15 G, 25 A) han't played more than 65 games in any of the past four season. he'll play on Arizona's top line with Mikkel Boedker and veteran Shane Doan. fantasy owners hope he stays on the ice and scores 60 points, but we're only projecting 42 this season.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D10/3/2014 10:38:00 AM
Description: Arizona's other fantasy-worthy blueliner Oliver Ekman-Larsson posted 44 points last season and we're expecting a similar season in 2014-15.
Insight: Ekman-Larsson 44 point season came with a -4 rating, which while not great, was much better than fellow Coyote defensemen Keith Yandle's -23 mark with similar point production.
Keith Yandle, D10/3/2014 10:34:00 AM
Description: Fifty-point scoring defenseman like Arizona's Keith Yandle are hard to find, but fantasy owners have seen consistent production from him for the past five seasons.
Insight: Yandle posted 53 points last season (8 G, 45 A) and we like him to reach the 50-point mark for the third time in the last four full NHL seasons, but an out-of-character -23 rating last season hurt fantasy owners after being on the plus side the previous four campaigns.
Mike Ribeiro, C6/27/2014 9:15:00 PM
Description: The Coyotes have decided to buy out the rest of Mike Ribeiro's contract. SOURCE: Coyotes.nhl.com
Insight: The move has more to do with Ribeiro's increasingly erratic behavior than the Coyotes' salary cap number. He posted 47 points (16 goals, 31 assists) in his only year in Arizona.
Mike Smith, G4/12/2014 2:25:00 PM

Description: Coyotes center Martin Hanzal (lower body) is doubtful for Saturday's game against San Jose.

Whether it’s a bite I didn't really feel, whether I killed one that was somewhere without really thinking about it, I'm not totally sure. But they never found a tick bite but at the same time, we found four of them on our dog." Before the illness, the 37-year-old had 12 goals, 23 points and 80 SOG in his first 27 games.
