Henrik Lundqvist, G12/14/2014 10:27:00 AM

Insight: Lundqvist allowed just one third-period goal on 30 shots to lead the Rangers to a, 5-1, victory over the Canucks. He is 11-7-3 with a 2.63 GAA and .909 save percentage, which is very un-Lundqvist like. Perhaps Saturday will get him going.

Kevin Klein, D12/8/2014 9:57:00 PM
Description: Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Penguins on Monday as the Rangers won, 4-3.
Insight: It was a huge goal as New York blew a, 3-1, lead late in the third period. The Rangers have several blown leads like that this season, so it was important for them to get the full two points versus Pittsburgh. Klein has six goals and four assists this season.

Description: Rangers backup goaltender Cam Talbot snapped a personal two-game winning streak on Saturday night.

Henrik Lundqvist, G11/15/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist played excellent on Saturday but lost to the Penguins.
Insight: It was a tough break for Lundqvist owners as it appeared the Rangers had scored the winning goal in the final shot of the shootout, but Rangers shooter Dan Boyle had an illegal hit on the potential game-winning goal. Replay nullified the goal, and all the Rangers players had to be called back onto the ice from the locker room. Lunqvist was noticably flat on the next attempt as Brandon Sutter scored, and Rick Nash did not convert his attempt. Pittsburgh won, 3-2.
Henrik Lundqvist, G11/13/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves in Thursday's shootout loss to Colorado.

Insight: He had a goal and an assist, along with three shots on goal and a +3 rating. Kreider now has 13 points in 10 games, as well as a +5 rating and 38 penalty minutes. Owners should be pleased with these numbers.
Mats Zuccarello, LW11/8/2014 9:58:00 PM

Insight: He had a goal, assist, and seven shots on goal, to along with a +2 rating. Zuccarello now has six points on the season.

Description: Rangers backup goaltender Cam Talbot will start on Saturday.
Insight: Talbot has a 2.84 GAA and .899 save percentage in three prior starts this season. He should have better numbers than that, but he is not contending for Henrik Lundqvist's job. Lundqvist has the day off.
Rick Nash, LWHot11/5/2014 11:00:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Rick Nash scored his 10th goal of the season on the power play in the first period against the Red Wings.
Insight: Nash had six shots on goal and now has 13 points on the season. Nash was also involved on the game-winning goal in overtime. He screened Jonas Gustavsson on the power play, which allowed Derick Brassard to finish a rebound.
Derick Brassard, C11/5/2014 10:56:00 PM
Description: Rangers center Derick Brassard scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift New York over Detroit, 4-3.
Insight: Brassard's score came on the power play at the 1:50 mark of overtime. It is his fifth goal of the season. Brassard had five shots on goal.
Cam Talbot, G11/3/2014 10:08:00 PM
Description: Rangers backup goaltender Cam Talbot made 31 saves in a loss to the Blues on Monday.
Insight: Talbot did allow three goals but made enough stops to help the Rangers earn a point. New York lost in a shootout. Talbot is 0-1-1 backing up starter Henrik Lunqvist this season.
Martin St. Louis, RW11/3/2014 10:05:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Martin St. Louis scored twice in Monday's shootout loss to the Blues.
Insight: St. Louis scored his second and third goal of the season. He had four shots on goal and a plus-two rating. St. Louis did not score in the shooutout, however, and the Blues won, scoring twice in the shootout.
Derek Stepan, C11/3/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Rangers center Derek Stepan is not likely to return Monday night against the Blues.
Insight: Stepan fractured his fibula in late September and the 4-6 week timetable is close to up. He's been skating, but is not expected to return Monday, though he is likely to return by the weekend.
Ryan McDonagh, D11/3/2014 10:32:00 AM
Description: Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonaugh (separated shoulder) hopes to return in 3-4 weeks.
Insight: It's a tough blow for the Rangers as he's their best offensive threat from the blue line. He totaled 43 points last season.
Henrik Lundqvist, G11/1/2014 10:32:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist got the rare shutout loss on Saturday against the Jets.
Insight: There probably isn't any other way for someone to get a shutout and lose in sports. Lundqvist stopped all 25 shots he faced in regulation and the first three he saw in the shootout, but allowed a goal on the fourth shootout shot and that was the difference. The Jets won, 1-0.
Ryan McDonagh, D11/1/2014 9:04:00 PM
Description: Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonaugh suffered a separated shoulder on Saturday against the Jets.
Insight: He left the game in the first period after a hard hit along the boards. McDonagh missed five games last spring due to a shoulder injury to the same shoulder. He has three assists in nine games. A timetable for his return will likely come on Sunday when the defenseman is reevaluated.
Brian Boyle, C10/28/2014 10:37:00 PM
Description: Lightning center Brian Boyle scored twice on Tuesday.
Insight: Boyle scored an unassisted goal in the second period and a goal from J.T. Brown and Anton Stralman in the third. Boyle has three goals this season.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/27/2014 9:39:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist allowed four goals on 30 shots on Monday against the Wild.
Insight: Lundqvist struggled again versus Minnesota on Monday, but his team bailed him out with five third-period goals. Lundqvist finished with 26 saves and the victory to improve to 5-3.
Mats Zuccarello, LW10/27/2014 9:38:00 PM
Description: Rangers left wing Mats Zuccarello scored a goal and two assists with a plus-three rating on Monday night against the Wild.
Insight: It was Zuccarello's first score of the season. The great plus/minus rating also helps Zuccarello's season numbers. He was minus-five coming into the game. Zuccarello was instrumental in the New York comeback against Minnesota. The Rangers scored all five goals in the third period.
Derick Brassard, C10/27/2014 9:35:00 PM
Description: Rangers center Derick Brassard scored and had two assists in Monday's game against the Wild.
Insight: Brassard also had a plus-three rating. The Rangers erased a 3-0 and 4-2 leads to win, 5-4. Brassard has four goals and three assists this season.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/25/2014 10:03:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist took his third loss of the season, Saturday against the Canadiens.
Insight: He made 27 saves in New Yorks 3-1 loss, and is now 4-3-0 on the season. Lundqvist still has not hit his stride, but it is only a matter of time for owners.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/21/2014 9:54:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 28-of-31 shots in Tuesday's overtime victory over New Jersey.
Insight: It was his fourth win of the season, and it looks like Lundqvist is starting to show why he is an elite goaltender in the NHL.
Chris Kreider, LW10/21/2014 9:51:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Chris Kreider played a strong game against the Devils on Tuesday.
Insight: He had a goal and an assist, along with a +2 rating and four shots on goal. Kreider continues to be a solid fantasy player, and it should stay that way, as he plays on the Rangers' top line.
Rick Nash, LWHot10/21/2014 9:49:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Rick Nash has scored another goal in Tuesday's overtime win against New Jersey.
Insight: It is already his eighth goal of the season. Nash seems unstoppable right now, which is music to owners ears. Kevin Klein notched the OT winner for the Rangers, to take down their division rival.
Henrik Lundqvist, GHot10/20/2014 12:30:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist made in two wins in a row with a 4-0 shutout win against San Jose.
Insight: He stopped all 33 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season. The Sharks are second in scoring this season, so it was a well-earned blanking.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/16/2014 10:00:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist shinedin Thursday's shootout win over Carolina.
Insight: He stopped 29-of-30 shots and did not let up a goal in the shootout either. It was Lundqvist's second win on the season, and this has a chance to really get him and the Rangers rolling.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/14/2014 9:58:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist allowed six goals for a second straight start on Tuesday.
Insight: Lundqvist stopped just 18-of-24 shots against the Maple Leafs on Sunday. He did slightly better on Tuesday, turning aside 21 out of 27 shots from the Islanders, but his save percentage was still well below .800. Lundqvist is in some obvious funk, but fantasy owners should by no means panic.
Rick Nash, LW10/14/2014 9:49:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Rick Nash has scored in each of the first four games of this season.
Insight: Nash leads the NHL with six goals after just four games. He scored two more times on Tuesday against the Islanders for the only goals the Rangers had on the night. Nash will obviously not be able to maintain this production, but the Rangers and fantasy owners alike love the fast start.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/13/2014 9:36:00 AM
Description: It was a night to forget for Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist as he gave up six goals on 24 shots.
Insight: Lundqvist was pulled in the second period. We have no doubts he'll be a top goaltender again this season, this was just one of those days. He's won 53.8 percent of his games over his career and has won at least 30 games every season except the 2012-13 48-game campaign.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/12/2014 11:26:00 AM
Description: Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist will be in goal Sunday, after getting the night off against Columbus.
Insight: Cam Talbot starting in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets, but will give way to New York's star goalie against Toronto.. Lundqvist earned the victory in his first start of the season, turning away 25-of-27 shots on goal.
Rick Nash, LW10/12/2014 11:21:00 AM
Description: Rangers winger Rick Nash has four points through two games, this season.
Insight: Nash is off to a hot start, with three goals and an assist, along with eight shots on goal and a +2 rating. It is a welcomed sight for owners and Rangers' fans.
Martin St. Louis, RW10/11/2014 11:19:00 AM
Description: Rangers coach Alain Vigneault told the New York Post that Martin St. Louis or Derick Brassard will play the point on the power play while Dan Boyle is out with his injury.
Insight: Boyle will be out for four-to-six weeks, so either St. Louis, Brassard or possibly both, will receive a fantasy boost playing the point on the man advantage.
Cam Talbot, G10/10/2014 4:45:00 PM
Description: Rangers backup goaltender Cam Talbot will start in Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets according to The Bergen Record.
Insight: This will be a rare start for Talbot because the Rangers still have that Henrik Lundqvist guy who is pretty good.
Henrik Lundqvist, G10/9/2014 10:49:00 PM
Description: Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist picked up his first victory of the season.
Insight: He had 23 saves on 25 shots, and looked good in the season-opener. Lundqvist will remain an elite option at goalie, for the 2014-15 season.
Rick Nash, LW10/9/2014 10:48:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Rick Nash had a big game in the opener.
Insight: He had the game-winning goal in New York's 3-2 victory over the Blues. Nash had three total points (2 goals, 1 assist), four shots on goal, and a +2 rating on Thursday. Solid start to the 2014-15 season.
Chris Kreider, LW10/9/2014 10:46:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Chris Kreider had two points in the season opener against St. Louis.
Insight: This is a strong start for Kreider, who registered a goal and an assist, along with two shots and a +1 rating. With Kreider on New York's top line, he could be in line for a breakout season.
Carl Hagelin, LW9/30/2014 8:15:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Carl Hagelin will top last year's 15 goals and 16 assists numbers.
Insight: We expect a lot from Hagelin, who is one of the fastest players in the NHL. There is a chance that he will play with Mats Zuccarello and Derick Brassard this year. If that happens, we like the combination of Haelin's speed and Zuccarello's grittiness to score a bunch of goals.
Mats Zuccarello, LW9/30/2014 8:11:00 PM
Description: Rangers left wing Mats Zuccarello had a breakout season last year, so now fans are wondering if he can repeat that success.
Insight: Zuccarello scored 19 goals and had 40 assists playing with Benoit Pouliot and Derick Brassard last season. He will again play with Brassard, but Pouliot left via free agency. The pair will likely be a part of the Rangers second line, but stay tuned because they could also end up in a checking-line role. Either way, Zuccarello is worth stashing on your team.
Ryan McDonagh, D9/30/2014 7:56:00 PM
Description: Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonaugh really surprised fans with the amount of offensive production last season.
Insight: McDonaugh scored 14 goals and 43 points while adding another four goals and 17 points in the playoffs a year ago. He had the opportunity to play more offense and he took advantage. Veteran free agent signee Dan Boyle will likely take a part of that role away from McDonaugh this season, but McDonaugh is still expected to about 13 goals and 30 assists.
Martin St. Louis, RW9/30/2014 7:52:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Martin St. Louis' fantasy value will greatly depend on linemate Rick Nash.
Insight: St. Louis disappointed Rangers fans with just eight points in 19 games after the trade deadline move last year. He then scored 15 points in 25 playoffs games. Not bad, but considering St. Louis has averaged a point per game over the course of seven seasons, it's not particularly good. St. Louis misses playing with Steven Stamkos and will need Nash to reemerge as a great scorer to make St. Louis a top fantasy forward.
Rick Nash, LW9/30/2014 7:48:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Rick Nash should be a player owners can pick late on draft day.
Insight: Nash had a below average regular season which turned into a horrible playoffs last year. He had 39 points in 65 games and then just three goals in 25 playoffs games. We believe Nash can bounce back, but owners should not be picking him early. Take the upside he offers late in the draft.
Chris Kreider, LW9/30/2014 7:43:00 PM
Description: Rangers winger Chris Kreider is poised for a breakout fantasy season in 2014-2015.
Insight: Kreider has had problems staying on the ice, but when playing, he might be the best offensive force the Rangers have. He scored 13 points in 15 playoffs games despite missing time with injuries. Kreider will miss Stepan the first part of the season, but he is still a guy owners want in their lineup.
Derek Stepan, C9/30/2014 7:40:00 PM
Description: Rangers center Derek Stepan played three fewer minutes per game under first-year head coach Alain Vigneault last season.
Insight: Stephan fractured his fibula last week, so his fantasy value has already taken a huge hit, but even before the injury, his value was slightly dipping. Stepan really struggled last season, and there were questions about the Rangers depth chart coming into training camp. The injury certainly does not help Stepan's cause.
Derek Stepan, C9/25/2014 11:08:00 AM
Description: Rangers center Derek Stepan fractured his fibula and will be out four-to-six weeks according to the Bergen Record.
Insight: Stepan will likely miss the first seven games of the regular season, but it should take much longer for him to get back into the swing of things. Missing training camp is never a good thing. Even if he returns in four weeks, his fantasy value has taken a hit.
Brad Richards, C6/21/2014 4:20:00 PM
Description: Brad Richards has been bought out by the Rangers. SOURCE: Nick Kypreos, Sportsnet
Insight: It's not unexpected and the move frees up nearly $7 million in cap room for New York. Richards was productive during his three-year stay in Manhattan, generating 56 goals and 95 assists in 210 games for the Blue Shirts. This season marked Richards' second trip to the Stanley Cup after winning it with the Lightning in 2004.
Daniel Carcillo, LW6/10/2014 3:20:00 PM
Description: New York Rangers left wing Daniel Carcillo is eligible to play in Game 4 after serving his suspension.
Insight: Whether he does, is another story. Carcillo only contributed in one fantasy category this season. He had 100 penalty minutes in 57 games.
Daniel Carcillo, LW6/3/2014 7:47:00 PM
Description: On appeal, New York left wing Daniel Carcillo had his suspension reduced from ten games to six. SOURCE: NHL.com

Henrik Lundqvist, G5/29/2014 10:56:00 PM
Description: Henrik Lundqvist shook off a brutal outing in Game 5 to shut out Montreal in the Rangers' series-clinching win Thursday at Madison Square Garden.
Insight: New York is headed to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994. Lundqvist has saved a remarkable 92.2 percent of the shots he's faced this postseason. The Rangers will face the winner of the Blackhawks/Kings series that resumes tomorrow night in Los Angeles.
J.T. Miller, C5/29/2014 11:23:00 AM
Description: Rangers rookie center J.T. Miller is doubtful for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final Tuesday against Montreal due to an upper body injury (shoulder).
Insight: He didn't travel with the team to Montreal for Game 5 and its unclear whether he'll be ready for this game. Miller has posted six points in 30 regular season games and two points in four playoff games.
John Moore, D5/28/2014 8:21:00 PM
Description: New York defenseman John Moore has been suspended for the last two games of the Eastern Conference Finals. Moore received a game misconduct for a high hit on Montreal right wing Dale Weise Tuesday in Game 5. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: If the Rangers clinch in Game 6, Moore will be suspended for the opening game of the Stanley Cup Finals. Moore has averaged 14 minutes of ice time per game in the postseason.
Chris Kreider, LWHot5/28/2014 11:06:00 AM
Description: Rangers winger Chris Kreider had a goal and three assists in New York's loss to Montreal in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals Tuesday night.
Insight: Kreider has eight points in the series and 10 points in nine postseason games.
Derek Stepan, C5/28/2014 11:04:00 AM
Description: Rangers center Derek Stepan (jaw) had two goals in his return to the lineup for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Insight: Stepan broke his jaw in Game 3 when he took a high hit from Brandon Prust. He's produced nine points in his last six playoff games.
Derek Stepan, C5/27/2014 11:02:00 AM
Description: Rangers center Derek Stepan (jaw) did not play in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Montreal and is questionable for Game 5.
Insight: Stepan broke his jaw in Game 3 when he took a high hit from Brandon Prust. He has been a solid points producer during the playoff season with 11 points (3 G, 8 A) in 17 games.
J.T. Miller, C5/27/2014 10:59:00 AM
Description: Rangers rookie center J.T. Miller is doubtful for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final Tuesday against Montreal due to an upper body injury (shoulder).
Insight: He didn't travel with the team to Montreal, but its unclear whether he'll be there for the game. Miller posted six points in 30 regular season games and two points in four playoff games.
Henrik Lundqvist, GHot5/26/2014 9:26:00 AM
Description: Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist wasn't one of the three stars of Game 4, but he did stop 27 of 29 shots en route to the victory and a 3-1 lead in the series.
Insight: Lundqvist has stopped 109 of 117 attempts (.931 save percentage) in this series. He's 11-7 with a .931 save percentage and a 1.98 GAA in 18 playoff games this season.
