Buffalo Sabres Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Tyler Ennis, LW7/17/2014 3:34:00 PM
Description: The Sabres have signed Tyler Ennis to a multiyear contract extension.
Insight: The 24-year-old had a career-high 21 goals and added 22 assists and 210 SOG over 80 games in 2013-14. The talent is lacking in Buffalo so he likely won't be much better than that in 2014-15.
Matt Moulson, LW7/2/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Matt Moulson signed a five-year, $25 million contract with the Sabres Tuesday.
Insight: The Islanders trade of Moulson to the Sabres for Thomas Vanek last season promptly sunk his fantasy value. He had 11 goals and 18 assists in 44 games with Buffalo before being dealt to Minnesota, where he had six goals and seven assists in 20 games. He'll be a 50-point player at best in 2014-15 given the talent level on the Sabres.
Zenon Konopka, C5/15/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: Sabres center Zenon Konopka has been suspended 20 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: It's not a big loss for fantasy owners as Konopka contributed just three points (one goal, two assists) in 59 games last season. Being a restricted free agent, the 20-game ban could make it harder for Konopka to find work this offseason.
Christian Ehrhoff, D4/13/2014 3:18:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Christian Ehrhoff suffered a concussion Saturday and will miss the season finale Sunday against the Islanders, according to nhl.com.
Insight: Ehrhoff (6 G, 27 A) will finish with six goals, 27 assists, 38 penalty minutes, 161 SOG and a -27 rating in 79 games.
Chris Stewart, RW4/13/2014 3:15:00 PM
Description: Buffalo winger Chris Stewart (ankle) is not expected to play in the season finale Sunday against the Islanders. Neither are Brian Flynn (lower body), Matt D'Agostini (lower body) and Christian Ehrhoff (concussion). SOURCE: nhl.com
Insight: Stewart (15 G, 11 A, 116 PIM, 109 SOG) missed a month due to a high ankle sprain and played just two games before leaving 20 seconds into Saturday's contest.
Drew Stafford, RW4/10/2014 9:43:00 PM

Tyler Myers, D4/10/2014 4:57:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers (upper body) won't play Thursday against the Rangers.

Zemgus Girgensons, C4/8/2014 10:00:00 PM
Description: Zemgus Girgensons scored both Sabres goals Tuesday in a loss to Detroit.
Insight: It's his first multi-goal game of the season. Buffalo has lost 15 of its last 17 games and holds the worst record in all of hockey (21-49-9).

Description: Buffalo defenseman Christian Ehrhoff (lacerated ear) is expected to play Tuesday, according to nhl.com.

Chris Stewart, RW4/8/2014 4:40:00 PM
Description: Buffalo winger Chris Stewart (ankle) will return to the lineup Tuesday, according to nhl.com.
Insight: Stewart (15 G, 11 A, 116 PIM, 109 SOG) was given a timetable for 4-5 weeks back on March 11 due to a high ankle sprain. He's returning a little earlier than that.
Tyler Myers, D4/3/2014 2:35:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers (upper body) is expected to miss Thursday's game and there is no timetable for his return.
Insight: TheBuffalo defenseman has nine goals and is a solid scorer with 22 points, but a -26 rating puts a damper on his usefulness to fantasy owners. He's likely to sit the remainder of the regular season.

Description: Buffalo center Zenon Konopka is questionable for Thursday's game against Nashville due to back spasms. He's missed the past four games.
Insight: Konopka provides just one asset for fantasy owners - penalty minutes. He's scored just once in 58 games (three points), but has amassed 83 penalty minutes.
Tyler Ennis, LW4/1/2014 10:07:00 PM
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis had a pair of goals Tuesday against the Devils.

Tyler Myers, D3/27/2014 6:34:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers (upper body) will miss Thursday's game.

Tyler Myers, D3/27/2014 3:18:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers (elbow) returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing the last five games, only to injure himself crashing into the goal post.
Insight: Call him questionable for Thursday's game against Nashville. Myers leads all Buffalo defenseman in goals with nine and is a solid scorer with 22 points, but a -26 rating puts a damper on his usefulness to fantasy owners.
Zenon Konopka, C3/27/2014 3:16:00 PM
Description: Buffalo center Zenon Konopka is questionable for Thursday's game against Nashville due to back spasms.
Insight: Konopka provides just one asset for fantasy owners - penalty minutes. He's scored just once in 58 games (three points), but has amassed 83 penalty minutes.
Tyler Myers, D3/25/2014 6:06:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers (elbow) will return to the lineup Tuesday, according to Paul Hamilton of wgr550.com. He missed the last five games.

Michal Neuvirth, G3/18/2014 5:18:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth (lower body) will miss Tuesday's game against the Flames, according to Paul Hamilton of wgr550.com.
Insight: Neuvirth and Jhonas Enroth are both out, so Nathan Lieuwen (2.34 GAA, .922 SV% in AHL) will get his first NHL start.
Jhonas Enroth, G3/16/2014 10:11:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Jhonas Enroth left Sunday's game with a lower-body injury, according to John Vogl of the Buffalo News.
Insight: Michal Neuvirth is also injured, so prospect Nathan Lieuwen had to make his NHL debut in relief. The Sabres' next game is on Tuesday.
Michal Neuvirth, G3/16/2014 8:09:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth is out with a lower-body injury, according to John Vogl of the Buffalo News.
Insight: Neuvirth has faced 98 shots in his first two starts with the Sabres and made 93 saves, a .949 SV%. Buffalo acquired him from Washington for Jaroslav Halak at the trade deadline.
Mike Weber, D3/15/2014 1:53:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Mike Weber is questionable for Saturday's game against the NY Islanders with a combination foot/ankle injury.
Insight: Weber doesn't really have much fantasy value (five points) so this won't change many lineups.
Tyler Myers, D3/15/2014 1:51:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers will miss Saturday's game against the NY Islanders due to an elbow injury.
Insight: Myers leads all Buffalo defenseman in goals with nine and is a solid scorer with 22 points, but a -26 rating puts a damper on his usefulness to fantasy owners even when healthy.
Drew Stafford, RWHot3/13/2014 9:47:00 PM
Description: Buffalo right wing Drew Stafford scored a goal for the third consecutive game Thursday against the Hurricanes.
Insight: Stafford has 13 goals and 15 assists in 58 games, so he's not a very good fantasy option despite the recent hot streak.
Tyler Ennis, LWHot3/13/2014 9:46:00 PM
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis has a three-game points streak.
Insight: Ennis had collected 20 points in his last 23 games. He scored his 17th goal of the season Thursday at Carolina and now has 35 points this season.
Chris Stewart, RW3/11/2014 5:50:00 PM
Description: Buffalo winger Chris Stewart (ankle) will miss the next 4-5 weeks, according to the Buffalo News.
Insight: Stewart (15 G, 11 A, 116 PIM, 109 SOG) could be done for the season and should be dropped in all fantasy leagues.
Zemgus Girgensons, C3/10/2014 11:52:00 AM
Description: Buffalo forward Zemgus Girgensons is expected to miss at least a week, according to the Sabres Twitter account.
Insight: Girgensons has six goals and 14 assists in 61 games playing mostly alongside Marcus Foligno and Brian Flynn. Add in a minus rating and 10 PIM and he's not up to a fantasy-worthy level.
Chris Stewart, RW3/9/2014 1:49:00 PM
Description: Buffalo winger Chris Stewart (undisclosed) will miss at least another week, according to the Sabres on Twitter.
Insight: Stewart (15 G, 11 A, 116 PIM, 109 SOG) has produced just four points in his last 24 games, though he's spent 43 minutes in the penalty box during that stretch to give himself some fantasy value.
Rostislav Klesla, D3/8/2014 7:31:00 PM
Description: Defenseman Rostislav Klesla has decided to take the rest of the year off and resume his hockey career in Europe next season, according to Darren Dreger of tsn.ca.
Insight: The 31-year-old Klesla was traded twice before the deadline, first from Phoenix to Washington and then from Washington to Buffalo. He never played a game for the Capitals or Sabres. He had 48 goals and 111 assists in 659 NHL games.
Michal Neuvirth, G3/8/2014 4:57:00 PM
Description: In his first appearance with the Sabres, Michal Neuvirth made 42 saves on 44 shots in a 2-0 loss at Florida Friday night.
Insight: Neuvirth and Jhonas Enroth will probably split starts for Buffalo the rest of the season. Neither player is good enough to overcome the Sabres' pitiful defense, Friday's results aside.
Chris Stewart, RW3/7/2014 12:18:00 PM
Description: Sabres winger Chris Stewart is doubtful for Friday's game against Florida due to a knee injury.
Insight: Stewart (15 G, 11 A, 112 PIM, 107 SOG) did most of his damage with St. Louis this season and has yet to score with Buffalo.
Zemgus Girgensons, C3/7/2014 12:15:00 PM
Description: Buffalo forward Zemgus Girgensons is doubtful for Friday's game against Florida due to a lower body injury he suffered on Thursday night.
Insight: Girgensons has six goals and 14 assists in 61 games playing mostly alongside Marcus Foligno and Brian Flynn. Add in a minus rating and 10 PIM and he's not up to a fantasy-worthy level.
Tyler Myers, D3/6/2014 10:31:00 PM
Description: Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers will miss Saturday's game against the NY Islanders due to an elbow injury.
Insight: Myers leads all Buffalo defenseman in goals with nine and is a solid scorer with 22 points, but a -26 rating puts a damper on his usefulness to fantasy owners even when healthy.
Cody Hodgson, C3/6/2014 10:28:00 PM
Description: Sabres center Cody Hodgson turned in a nice effort Thursday against the Lightning.
Insight: Hodgson (16 goals, 18 assists this season) was responsible for two of Buffalo's three goals, scoring on one and assisting on another. He's put up four points in his last four outings.
Marcus Foligno, LW3/6/2014 10:24:00 PM
Description: Sabres left wing Marcus Foligno generated two points (one goal, one assist) in Thursday's win over Tampa Bay.
Insight: Foligno's goal in the second period was his first since January 25th at Columbus. With just 16 points in his 56 games this season, Foligno doesn't belong on any fantasy squads.
Rostislav Klesla, D3/5/2014 4:41:00 PM
Description: The Capitals included D Rostislav Klesla in their trade with the Sabres for Jaroslav Halak, according to the Sabres on Twitter.
Insight: Klesla was acquired from Phoenix for Martin Erat Tuesday and never played for Washington. He has just one goal and four points in 25 games this season. There's nothing to get excited about here.
Cory Conacher, LW3/5/2014 12:32:00 PM
Description: The Sabres have claimed Cory Conacher off waivers from the Senators.
Insight: The Senators swapped goaltender Ben Bishop for Conacher (4 G, 16 A) at last season's trade deadline, and it's safe to say it didn't work out. Fantasy owners can avoid him for now.
Tyler Ennis, LW3/3/2014 2:04:00 PM
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis (soreness) is probable for Monday's game against Dallas.
Insight: Ennis had picked up 14 points in his last 15 games but missed the last two due to "general body soreness." He has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season and is a solid offensive weapon, but his -12 rating does hurts his fantasy value.
Cody Hodgson, C2/28/2014 9:39:00 PM
Description: Buffalo center Cody Hodgson scored a goal Friday against San Jose.
Insight: Hodgson has had a point in each of the last two games after posting just one in his previous six. He has 15 goals, 17 assists and 117 SOG in 50 games, almost identical to the pace he set last season.
Matt Moulson, LW2/28/2014 9:38:00 PM
Description: Buffalo winger Matt Moulson scored a goal Friday against the Sharks.
Insight: Moulson has picked up six points in his last five games. There's a strong possibility he'll be traded into a better fantasy situation before the trade deadline on March 5.
Tyler Myers, D2/28/2014 9:36:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers has collected four points in his last two games.
Insight: He had a goal and two assists Friday against the Sharks after scoring a goal Wednesday against Boston. Even with a +3 Friday, the defenseman still has a -23 rating this season to go with eight goals and 20 points in 55 games.
Jhonas Enroth, G2/28/2014 9:34:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Jhonas Enroth stopped 36 of 38 shots against the Sharks Friday night in a 4-2 win.
Insight: Enroth was inserted into the starting lineup at the last minute after Ryan Miller was traded to the Blues and put together an impressive performance against a team that scored seven goals one night ago. Buffalo got back Jaroslav Halak in the deal, preventing Enroth from taking over as the full-time starter.
Chris Stewart, RW2/28/2014 8:58:00 PM
Description: Winger Chris Stewart was included in the trade that sent Ryan Miller to the Blues and Jaroslav Halak to the Sabres.
Insight: Stewart (15 G, 11 A, 112 PIM, 107 SOG) is now a member of the Sabres, but he might not be there for long. A three-way deal between St. Louis, Buffalo and Ottawa was discussed earlier this week, according to Bob McKenzie of tsn.ca, and the Senators covet Stewart. He'll get more playing time on both Buffalo and Ottawa than the 13:42 per game he played with the Blues, so his fantasy value is on the rise.
Tyler Ennis, LW2/28/2014 8:12:00 PM
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis (soreness) did not play Friday, as expected.
Insight: Ennis has picked up 14 points in his last 15 games but missed the last two due to "general body soreness." He has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season and is a solid offensive weapon, but his -12 rating hurts his fantasy value.
Jaroslav Halak, G2/28/2014 7:40:00 PM
Description: Goaltender Jaroslav Halak was traded from the St. Louis Blues to the Buffalo Sabres Friday night along with Chris Stewart, William Carrier, a 2015 first-round pick and a 2016 third-rounder for Ryan Miller and Steve Ott.
Insight: Halak goes from one of the best defensive teams in the NHL to one of the worst, and he also may have to split playing time with 25-year-old Jhonas Enroth as the Sabres play for the future.
Ryan Miller, G2/28/2014 6:52:00 PM
Description: The Sabres made goalie Ryan Miller a late scratch Friday night as they discuss potential trades, according to Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Steve Ott was also held out Friday.
Insight: Rutherford reports that a deal is imminent and it is believed that the Blues are the likely destination for Miller. St. Louis is one of the top defensive teams in the NHL and would be a great place for Miller to land.
Tyler Ennis, LW2/28/2014 1:54:00 PM
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis missed Wednesday's game with general body soreness and didn't practice Thursday, so it's not looking very likely he'll play on Friday.
Insight: Ennis has picked up 14 points in his last 15 games. He has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season and is a solid offensive weapon, but his -12 rating hurts his fantasy value.
Matt Moulson, LW2/26/2014 10:52:00 PM
Description: Buffalo winger Matt Moulson extended his points streak to four games with a goal Wednesday against Boston.
Insight: The first two of those games came back at the end of January, as Moulson missed Buffalo's last four games before the Olympic break with an upper-body injury. There's a strong possibility he'll be traded into a better fantasy situation.
Tyler Ennis, LW2/26/2014 4:52:00 PM
Description: Buffalo left wing Tyler Ennis will miss Wednesday's game with general body soreness, according to nhl.com.
Insight: Ennis scored a goal Tuesday against the Hurricanes and has picked up 14 points in his last 15 games. He has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season.
Ryan Miller, G2/26/2014 10:22:00 AM
Description: It doesn't sound like Ryan Miller is going to be a Buffalo Sabre for much longer. SOURCE: Buffalo News
Insight: The team is actively shopping its star netminder. Buffalo GM Tim Murray has acknowledged that he'd like to trade Miller to a place where he can win a championship. Miller picked up two assists in Tuesday's win over Carolina while also providing 36 saves.
Christian Ehrhoff, DHot2/25/2014 9:54:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Christian Ehrhoff scored two goals Tuesday against the Hurricanes, including the game-winner.
Insight: Ehrhoff only had seven points in 27 games the first two months, but he has come up with 20 points in 29 games since the beginning of December.
Matt Moulson, LW2/25/2014 10:46:00 AM
Description: Buffalo winger Matt Moulson (upper body) should be ready to return to the ice for Tuesday's game with Carolina.
Insight: Moulson's value took a big hit by the move from Long Island to Buffalo, as he has produced just nine goals and 24 points in 40 games with the Sabres, but most experts think he'll be playing elsewhere by the trade deadline (March 5).
Tyler Myers, D2/25/2014 10:37:00 AM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers (leg) has been practicing since Friday and should be ready to return to the ice for Tuesday's game with Carolina, according to a Buffalo News report.
Insight: The 24-year-old has six goals and 10 assists in 52 contests this season. However, an ugly -26 rating should be enough to keep fantasy owners far away.
Tyler Myers, D2/6/2014 3:24:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) did not play Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday's game against Ottawa.
Insight: The 24-year-old has six goals and 10 assists in 52 contests this season. However, an ugly -26 rating should be enough to keep fantasy owners far away.
Matt Moulson, LW2/5/2014 1:17:00 PM
Description: Chris Botta of the New York Times and SNY considers Buffalo winger Matt Moulson a "lock" to be traded before the deadline.
Insight: Botta reports that more than a dozen teams have contacted the Sabres about Moulson, whom they acquired along with a first- and second-round pick from the Islanders for Thomas Vanek. As we predicted when the trade went down, Moulson's value has been crushed by the move from Long Island to Buffalo, as he has produced just nine goals and 24 points in 40 games with the Sabres. Moulson is out until after the Olympic break due to an arm injury, so any trade will likely come after it.
Tyler Myers, D2/5/2014 12:12:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) will not play Wednesday, according to the Sabres' Twitter account.
Insight: The 24-year-old has six goals and 10 assists in 52 contests this season. However, an ugly -26 rating should be enough to keep fantasy owners far away.

Description: Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers is questionable for Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh due to a lower-body injury.
Insight: The 24-year-old has six goals and 10 assists in 52 contests this season. However, an ugly -26 rating should be enough to keep fantasy owners far away.
Drew Stafford, RW2/3/2014 9:55:00 AM
Description: Buffalo right wing Drew Stafford is expected to return to the lineup on Monday night after missing games due to an upper body injury.
Insight: Stafford was once a 50-point a season guy, but has fallen off the fantasy radar screen with 18 points in 2012 and 18 points with a -10 rating in 46 games this season.
Christian Ehrhoff, D2/1/2014 10:16:00 AM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Christian Ehrhoff is still questionable for Saturday's game due to an illness.
Insight: Ehrhoff will be a game-time decision. The 31-year-old has 23 points (four goals), 20 PIM and 111 SOG in 51 games which isn't horrible considering the Sabres are the lowest scoring team in the league.
Matt Moulson, LW1/31/2014 3:08:00 PM
Description: Buffalo beat writer John Vogl is reporting Buffalo winger Matt Moulson has an injury to his arm and isn't expect to play until after the Olympic break - four games.
Insight: Moulson has 15 goals and 18 assists, with 24 points coming in 40 games with the Sabres. With the Sabres out of any playoff contention, there is no reason to rush him back.
Christian Ehrhoff, D1/30/2014 7:00:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Christian Ehrhoff is questionable for Thursday's game due to an illness, according to the Buffalo News.
Insight: Ehrhoff will be a game-time decision after missing the morning skate. The 31-year-old has 23 points (four goals), 20 PIM and 111 SOG in 51 games.

Cody Hodgson, CHot1/28/2014 10:20:00 PM
Description: Buffalo center Cody Hodgson had a pair of goals Tuesday against Washington.

Matt D'Agostini, RW1/16/2014 11:48:00 AM
Description: Sabres winger Matt D'Agostini is questionable for Saturday's game against Columbus due to an upper body injury.
Insight: D'Agostini has earned just six points (two goals) in 28 games and has no fantasy value.
Drew Stafford, RW1/14/2014 1:50:00 PM
Description: Buffalo right wing Drew Stafford, who has missed four games with an upper-body injury, practiced Monday with a no-contact jersey, according to a Buffalo News report.

Insight: Myers has declined since he won the Calder Trophy with 48 points in 2009-10. He had 37 points in 2010-11, 23 points in 55 gmaes in 2011-12, eight points last season and 12 points (four goals) in 42 games this season. When you factor in his -15, he's a poor fantasy option.
Ville Leino, LW1/2/2014 11:55:00 AM
Description: Buffalo left wing Ville Leino will miss Thursday's game against Minnesota due to a lower body injury.
Insight: Leino doesn't hold much fantasy value with six points in 26 games and a -6 rating.

"I'm not too sure, maybe a week or two or three. I'm not sure," he said. Hodgson has posted 19 points in 33 games, but a -10 rating and just 12 PIM hurts his fantasy value.
Ryan Miller, GHot12/23/2013 10:05:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Ryan Miller has won three straight starts and four of his last five while not allowing more than two goals in any of them.

Description: Buffalo center Cody Hodgson (lower body) didn't play Saturday despite taking part in pre-game warmups, but has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game against Winnipeg.

Cody McCormick, C12/5/2013 1:45:00 AM
Description: Buffalo forward Cody McCormick is expected to be activated from injured reserve for Thursday's game against the NY Rangers.
Insight: McCormick has little to no fantasy value though his five points in 20 games this season has already surpassed his 2011 and 2012 totals combined.
Jhonas Enroth, G11/30/2013 6:05:00 PM
Description: Sabres backup goalie Jhonas Enroth will start Saturday at New Jersey.

Insight: Moulson has just three goals and 10 points in 13 games with the Sabres, and six of his points came in his first four games with the team. His fantasy value took a huge hit when he was traded from the New York Islanders to Buffalo.
Cody McCormick, C11/24/2013 10:19:00 AM
Description: Buffalo forward Cody McCormick is questionable for Sunday's game against Detroit with an upper body injury.
Insight: McCormick has little to no fantasy value though his five points in 20 games this season has already surpassed his 2011 and 2012 totals combined.

John Scott, D11/8/2013 11:28:00 AM
Description: Sabres enforcer John Scott is probable for Friday's game against Anaheim after serving his seven-game suspension for decking Bruins left wing Loui Eriksson on a blind side hit..
Insight: He's not a player you can count on in fantasy leagues (just one goal in 187 career games) and he's never cracked to 100 penalty-minute mark. He fantasy value is zero.

Jhonas Enroth, G11/2/2013 2:50:00 PM
Description: The Sabres will go with Jhonas Enroth in net Saturday against the Ducks.
Insight: Enroth has posted a 2.24 GAA and a .932 SV% over four games this season, far better than the 3.03 GAA and .919 SV% Ryan Miller has managed. The Sabres give up a ton of SOG, making both goalies extremely prone to implosion.
Matt Moulson, LW10/28/2013 9:50:00 PM
Description: In his first game with Buffalo Monday against the Stars, left winger Matt Moulson had a pair of goals.
Insight: Way to make a first impression. The Sabres acquired Moulson from the Islanders for Thomas Vanek Sunday. Moulson will have to play with a far worse supporting cast in Buffalo after building chemistry with John Tavares for five years, so fantasy owners should sell high after a big first game with the team. Moulson has eight goals and 11 points in the first 12 games this season.
Mike Weber, D10/28/2013 1:15:00 PM
Description: Buffalo defenseman Mike Weber has a cast on his left thumb and will be out for a significant amount of time.
Insight: Weber doesn't really have much fantasy value so this won't change many lineups.
Matt Moulson, LW10/28/2013 1:03:00 PM
Description: Just acquired from the Islanders, left winger Matt Moulson should team up with Cody Hodgson and Brian Flynn to make of the Sabres top line.

John Scott, D10/24/2013 9:39:00 PM
Description: Sabres enforcer John Scott is probably looking at a lengthy suspension after decking Bruins left wing Loui Eriksson on a blind side hit Wednesday night.
Insight: Hits like these are what Scott has become known for. The hulking defenseman has already logged 319 penalty minutes in his first six seasons in the NHL. He's not a player you can count on in fantasy leagues (just one goal in 187 career games).

Description: Sabres right wing Patrick Kaleta lost his appeal and will now begin serving a ten-game suspension. SOURCE: Elliotte Friedman, Hockey Night in Canada

Description: Buffalo right wing Patrick Kaleta was handed a ten-game suspension for his hit on Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson last week. SOURCE: NHL.com
Insight: Kaleta will be out for eight more contests as he's already served two games of his suspension. The 27-year-old hasn't scored yet this season and is unlikely to crack many fantasy rosters.
Ryan Miller, G10/10/2013 4:58:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Ryan Miller (groin) will start Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
Insight: Miller missed the last two games with a groin injury. He's 0-2-0 despite posting a 1.53 GAA and a .963 SV%.
Cody Hodgson, C10/8/2013 10:24:00 PM
Description: Sabres center Cody Hodgson's lower-body injury that caused him to miss practice Monday didn't seem to bother him much Tuesday as he had two points against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Hodgson scored his first goal of the season and added his second assist but it wasn't enough to prevent Buffalo from falling in overtime to drop to 0-3-1. The 23-year-old Hodgson emerged with 15 goals and 34 points in 48 games last season, which extrapolates to 26 goals and 58 points per 82 games. He should improve upon that now that he is Buffalo's top-line center.
Ryan Miller, G10/8/2013 3:55:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Ryan Miller (groin) was on the ice at practice, but is expected to back up Jhonas Enroth on Tuesday.
Insight: Miller might be ready to play Thursday in Columbus or Saturday in Chicago. He's 0-2 despite a 1.53 GAA and .963 SV%.
Cody Hodgson, C10/8/2013 3:53:00 PM
Description: Sabres center Cody Hodgson missed Monday's practice with a lower body injury, but was back on the ice for Tuesday's skatearound and should be ready to go tonight.
Insight: Hodgson has a spot on the top line with Thomas Vanek and Steve Ott so is a valuable fantasy center and should be in all lineups.
Thomas Vanek, LW10/5/2013 10:13:00 PM
Description: Sabres winger Thomas Vanek notched his first goal of the season Saturday at Pittsburgh.
Insight: Vanek had 11 SOG over the first two games but zero points and a -3 differential. He took four shots Saturday and finished even for the night. Vanek had 41 points in 38 games last season, but 23 came over his first 11 games.
Ryan Miller, G10/5/2013 7:19:00 PM
Description: Sabres goalie Ryan Miller (lower body) did not suit up Saturday against the Penguins.
Insight: Buffalo coach Ron Rolston said he expects Miller back Tuesday against the Lightning. A source told the Buffalo News that Miller is nursing a sore groin. He's 0-2 despite making 77 saves on 80 shots over the first two games.

Ryan Miller, G10/4/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller took the tough-luck loss Friday against the Senators.
Insight: That makes two losses in two games for Miller this season even though he has given up three goals on 80 shots. He saved 45 of 46 shots Friday against the Sens but the Sabres were shut out.
Ville Leino, LW10/4/2013 10:53:00 AM
Description: Buffalo left wing Ville Leino is out indefinitely with a fractured rib.
Insight: Leino has missed much of this season due to a hip injury, but in the eight March games he played, scored six points (2 G, 4 A). Looks like he's going to be out for a while, so let him go unless you have an open spot on your roster.
Marcus Foligno, LW10/2/2013 10:16:00 AM
Description: Buffalo winger Marcus Foligno is not expected to be ready until the third or fourth game of the season while dealing with a shoulder injury suffered on Sept. 22.
Insight: Foligno scored just 18 points in 47 games last season, but did post 41 penalty minutes. His fantasy value is at the low end of the spectrum.
Corey Tropp, RW10/2/2013 10:16:00 AM
Description: Sabres winger Corey Tropp suffered a broken jaw and a mild concussion and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
Insight: With three goals and five assists in 34 games last season, Tropp has little to no fantasy value even when healthy.
