Week 16 Player Fantasy Rankings - Tight Ends

By Thomas J. Harrigan, Fantasy Sports Writer

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - For just the third time all season, someone other than Jimmy Graham or Rob Gronkowski is our No. 1 tight end.

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis gets the top spot for the first time this season in Week 16. He's pulled in a touchdown in nine of the last 11 games, including five straight, and gets an Atlanta Falcons defense that has allowed four TDs to the position in the last four games.

He's the safest choice around at tight end, even moreso than Graham, who was limited to five fantasy points in Week 10, four in Week 11 and two in Week 15.

New Orleans plays at Carolina in Week 16, giving Graham a chance to face the team he hit up for two scores just two weeks ago.

A number of tight ends will come into this week attempting to extend scoring streaks, including Atlanta's Tony Gonzalez (three games), Jacksonville's Marcedes Lewis (three), Kansas City's Anthony Fasano (three), Dallas' Jason Witten (two), Tampa Bay's Tim Wright (two) and Green Bay's Andrew Quarless (two).

Philadelphia's Zach Ertz will try to score for the fourth time in the past four games Sunday night against the Bears, but he'll also attempt to avoid being shut out for the second time in the last three games.

We're willing to give Ertz a pass for the goose egg because it came in a Week 14 blizzard that caused Chip Kelly to throw his game plan out the window.
