Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry led Toronto with 20 points in the, 105-89, victory over the Nets.
Insight: Lowry shot 7-of-13, including 2-of-3 from the 3-point line and was 4-for-4 at the line. Lowry recorded a double-double with 12 assists and contributed three rebounds and two steals too. He continues to be the No. 1 scoring option without DeMar DeRozan.
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade had a monster scoring night.
Insight: Wade accounted for nearly half the Heat's scoring with 42 points. Wade was 12-of-19 from the field, hit two 3-pointers and made an incredible 16-of-21 free throws. He didn't do much else, four rebounds and three assists, but fantasy owners will obviously take the scoring. Unfortunately for Miami, they lost 105-87, against Utah. Wade could be in for more big scoring nights as long as Chris Bosh is out.
Description: Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward had his highest scoring output of the month on Wednesday.
Insight: Hayward had 29 points in 38 minutes against the Heat. He shot 9-of-13, going 4-for-5 from the 3-point line, and a perfect 7-for-7 at the foul line. Hayward also contributed seven assists, six rebounds and a block.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis was 11-of-20 from the floor on Wednesday.
Insight: Ellis hit one 3-pointer and two foul shots along with 10 other field goals to score 25 points. Ellis also had eight assists, two rebounds and a steal. That's the first time this season Ellis had at least 25 points and seven assists in the same game.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double against the Magic.
Insight: Rondo has 13 points and 15 assists in the, 109-92, victory. Rondo shot 50 percent from the floor and perhaps owners are lucky he didn't get to the free-throw line to lower the fantasy team's free-throw percentage. He also had seven rebounds.
Description: Hawks point guard Shelvin Mack had by far his biggest game of the season Wednesday versus the Cavaliers.
Insight: Mack played 23 minutes, the most he has been on the floor this month, and scored 24 points. Mack shot an incredible 6-for-6 from downtown and 7-of-8 from the field overall. Judging by the fact Mack had just six 3-point attempts in the last four games combined, he is never going to repeat this performance.
Description: Hawks point guard Jeff Teague will not play on Wednesday against the Cavaliers due to a hamstring injury.
Insight: Teague could also miss some additional time. Dennis Schroder and Shelvin Mack are the two guards for fantasy owners to keep an eye on while Teague is out. Schroder is even a pretty good daily plug-in for Wednesday.
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade came up big during Tuesday's win over the Nets.
Insight: Wade went 12-of-24 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line for 28 points, five rebounds, four assists, one 3-pointer, one steal, and two turnovers. As long as Chris Bosh is sidelined, Wade should have the chance to put up big numbers.
Description: Warriors guard Klay Thompson shot 50 percent from the field, making 4-of-5 3-pointers on his way to 22 points on Tuesday.
Insight: That still wasn't enough as Golden State snapped their 17-game winning streak in Memphis. Thompson had great shooting numbers, but he didn't contribute much else. He had two rebounds, one steal and one block.
Description: Wizards guard John Wall had a huge fantasy night Tuesday.
Insight: Wall recorded 21 points and 17 assists, which tied a season-high. Wall shot 9-of-17 from the field and made 2-of-4 3-pointers. He also had four rebounds and a steal. Wall remains a top-20 option.
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade is questionable for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn due to flu-like symptoms and missed the morning shootaround.
Insight: That doesn't bode well for fantasy owners. Wade has solid averages this season (21.1 ppg, 5.5 apg, 3.6 rpg, 1.0 spg), and if he can get healthy with Chris Bosh out of the lineup, Wade's scoring won't be limited.
Description: Knicks guard Shane Larkin is questionable for Tuesday's game against Dallas due to illness.
Insight: Larkin could see a lot of playing time if he can get healthy with Iman Shumpert out and J.R. Smith very questionable. Larkin isn't seeing enough time normally to be fantasy worthy and is averaging 5.4 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.3 apg.
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker (strained left hamstring) is expected to miss Monday's game against Portland.
Insight: Cory Joseph should get the start. He was solid against the Lakers with 16 points, four rebounds and five assists. Given the Spurs will be without Parker, GManu Ginobili and Tim Duncan there are a lot of shots and points available.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Marcus Thornton will miss Monday's game against Philadelphia due to a strained left calf.
Insight: Since leaving Sacramento in 2012, Thornton's value had dropped significantly and right now is fantasy value is minimal. He's averaging just 8.2 ppg. Evan Turner should see plenty of work Monday against his old team.
Description: Rockets guard James Harden recorded his third triple-double of his career on Saturday.
Insight: Harden had 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He actually grabbed the last rebound with about a second left in the game and smile as he reeled it in, knowing that gave him the triple-double. Fantasy owners with Harden have a lot to smile about with his 26.4 ppg, 6.5 apg and 6.2 rpg this season.
Description: Hawks point guard Jeff Teague had a great fantasy night against the Magic.
Insight: Teague scored 24 points shooting 44 percent from the floor. That's a little below Teague's 47.9 shooting percentage, but he did make 2-of-4 from the 3-point line and 6-of-8 at the line. Teague also had eight assists, three steals, three rebounds and a block.
Description: Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard did not shoot well but managed to score 18 points on Saturday.
Insight: That's not enough for Lillard, who took 22 shots against the Pacers. Lilard missed all three of his 3-point attempts but did make all four free throws. He also had four assists, three rebounds and a steal.
Description: Pacers point guard C.J. Watson scored a season-high 23 points on Saturday.
Insight: Watson has seen a lot more opportunities to see an increase in fantasy value. He is averaging 10 ppg and 4.7 apg this month. In the last two games, Watson has played over 30 minutes in each game and is shooting 52 percent from the floor and 60 percent at the 3-point line while averaging 18 ppg.
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler will start on Saturday against the Kings.
Insight: This means Greg Monroe will go back to the bench. The move is likely just a strategic move for the Kings, so fantasy owners of Monroe shouldn't worry too much. Monroe is still fantasy viable coming off the bench while Singler has been very inconsistent this season.
Description: The Knicks announced guard Iman Shumpert has been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder and will miss at least three weeks.
Insight: With J.R. Smith already out with a foot injury, Tim Hardaway Jr. will see a lot more playing time. It will be interesting to see how Hardaway plays in the starting lineup with Carmelo Anthony since it came out this week that the two are apparently not getting along very well this season.
Description: Lakers guard Kobe Bryant scored 22 points during Friday's overtime win against the Spurs.
Insight: He played point guard down the stretch and for most of the extra session. Bryant finished with nine assists, five rebounds, four steals, one 3-pointer, and five turnovers in 40 minutes of action.
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade went 10-of-16 from the field and 8-of-12 from the line during Friday's victory against the Jazz.
Insight: He finished with a team-high 29 points and seven assists, along with chipping in three rebounds, one 3-pointer, one steal, one block, and three turnovers. Wade has solid averages this season (21.3 ppg, 5.9 apg, 3.5 rpg, 1.1 spg), and if he can stay healthy, those numbers should remain intact.
Description: Suns guard Goran Dragic was one of seven player to score in double-figures, during Friday's loss against Detroit.
Insight: Dragic finished with a team-high 18 points, along with five assists, five rebounds, one 3-pointer, two steals, and six turnovers. He has played well of late, and is now averaging 16.1 ppg, 4.0 apg, 3.4 rpg, and 1.0 spg.
Description: Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal scored a team-high 29 points during Friday's victory against the Clippers.
Insight: Beal was 9-of-17 from the floor, 7-of-8 from the line, and 4-of-7 from deep. He also chipped in four assists, three rebounds, three steals, and two turnovers. It looks like Beal is completely healthy.
Description: Heat guard Dwyane Wade missed the morning shootaround and must be considered doubtful for Thursday's game.
Insight: The shooting guard is averaging 19.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg, and 4.7 apg. Mario Chalmers gets the bulk of the minutes if Wade can't go. Chalmers averages 17.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 6.5 apg in eight starts this season making him a viable option with Wade out fo the lineup.
Description: Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams had a somewhat odd stat line during Wednesday's loss against the Hawks.
Insight: He was 4-of-7 from the field for eight points. Carter-Williams also had 10 rebounds, nine assists, two blocks, and a dreadful nine turnovers. He will continue to have great chances to produce.
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker is uncertain whether he will play on Wednesday, and coach Gregg Popovich said it will depend on how he feels in warmups according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: Judging just based on the history of the Spurs resting star players, Parker will likely not play on Wednesday. Fantasy owners should have a backup plan.
Description: 76ers guard Tony Wroten is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
Insight: Philadelphia originally called Wroten likely to return on Wednesday, but now it seems unlikely. Check back for confirmation, and if he can't go, Robert Covington will take most of Wroten's minutes.
Description: Lakers guard Jeremy Lin is continuing to struggle coming off the bench.
Insight: Lin scored just three points and added four assists, one rebound and one steal in 22 minutes on Tuesday. That's not good enough for a player called a fantasy sleeper in the preseason. Lin said on Sunday he felt a "sharp pain" in his leg, so perhaps that is affecting his play.
Description: Kings guard Darren Collison led his team with 26 points and six assists in Tuesday's loss to the Lakers.
Insight: Collison made 11-of-18 shots, including 2-of-3 from the 3-point line. Unfortunately, he curiously made just 25 percent from the free-throw line. Collison is not a great free-throw shooter, but he still shoots 76.5 percent from the line, over 50 percent higher than he shot Tuesday.
Description: Lakers guard Kobe Bryant shot a percentage higher than his season average on Tuesday.
Insight: That's not saying much because Bryant is shooting 39 percent from the floor this season, and on Tuesday he shot 40.7 percent. Still, owners will take the 32 points. Bryant is leading the league with 25.5 ppg.
Description: Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward scored 20 points in 36 minutes Tuesday.
Insight: Hayward was just behind teammate Derrick Favors for the team-lead in scoring against the Spurs Tuesday. Hayward shot 7-for-13 from the field and 6-of-9 from the line. He also had seven rebounds, four assists and a steal. Although those are great numbers, Hayward also had five turnovers.
Description: Pelicans small forward Tyreke Evans scored a team-high 27 points in the victory over the Knicks on Tuesday.
Insight: Evans shot 11-of-15, sinking one 3-pointer and all four free throws. He also had six assists and four rebounds. Evans is averaging 15.2 ppg, 5.8 apg and 5.7 rpg this season as he continues to be a solid fantasy play.
Description: Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe's monster game might have been missed by some fantasy owners who saw Blake Griffin throw up 45 points in the same game, but Bledsoe posted a big triple-double with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 16 assists.
Insight: Bledsoe is once again a box score filler averaging 16.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 6.2 apg and 1.4 spg. He's stepped in up in December averaging 24 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 8.3 apg.
Description: Raptors guard Kyle Lowry shot just 3-for-13 but did dish 13 assists against the Nuggets on Monday as Toronto won in overtime.
Insight: Lowry had a double-double with 13 points and 13 assists. He shot 7-of-8 from the free-throw line to help his numbers. It was nice to see someone else score for Toronto without DeMar DeRozan in the lineup.
Description: Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson started a new double-double streak on Monday.
Insight: Lawson had a seven-game double-double streak snapped on Sunday when he only scored four points. On Monday, Lawson had 22 points and 12 assists to start a new one. In his last nine games, Lawson is averaging 16.1 ppg and 11.9 apg.
Description: Timberwolves guard Andrew Wiggins led the team with 21 points on Tuesday.
Insight: That is the most points Wiggins has scored since Nov. 22 when he had 29. Wiggins shot 8-of-19 from the field and added six rebounds and four assists. All of those numbers are well above his season averages.
Description: Cavaliers shooting guard Dion Waiters came off the bench and scored a team-high 26 points on Monday versus the Nets.
Insight: Waiters led the team with 21 shot attempts and made 11 of them. He only shot 1-for-6 from the 3-point line, but still led the team in scoring. Waiters also had four assists, two steals, one block and one rebound.
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker will not play on Tuesday because of his hamstring injury.
Insight: It is never good to be ruled out 24 hours in advance. That could mean Parker will miss more games than just Tuesday's. Cory Joseph has been good in his two starts and is worth a look in fantasy.
Description: Nets guard Joe Johnson has been downgraded to out for Monday's game against Cleveland due to flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Johnson (15.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.8 apg) missed Sunday's practice session. Bojan Bogdanovic and Alan Anderson will get more floor time if Johnson sits this one out, but have limited upside. Bogdanovic isn't a great scorer, but can rebound. Anderson can get hot an put up points, but isn't much help elsewhere in the box score.
Description: 76ers guard Tony Wroten is expected to return to action Wednesday.
Insight: Wroten (17.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 6.3 apg) will likely come off the bench at both PG and SG and should still see his full compliment of minutes, but may not score as much with Michael Carter-Williams and Robert Covington scoring at a high level.
Description: Jazz guard Alec Burks (shoulder) took part in the Monday morning shootaround and might play tonight.
Insight: More likely he sits another game and comes back later in the week. Burks has averaged 13.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.0 apg over the first 18 contests. Rodney Hood will again shift from small forward to get the start at shooting guard, if Burks sits again.
Description: Timberwolves guard Mo Williams will miss Monday's game against Golden State with a sore back.
Insight: Zach LaVine will start again at point guard. He posted a 22-point, 10-rebound game Saturday after a 17-point, six-rebound, four-assist Friday. He's playing much better of late and has fantasy value as a starter.
Description: Lakers guard Jeremy Lin is questionable for Tuesday's game against Sacramento due to a sore leg.
Insight: Ronnie Lin got his first start of the season at point guard Sunday. Lin is averaging 11.5 ppg, 4.9 apg, and 1.0 spg, and his poor play got him demoted. It's likely just temporary, but this injury won't help.
Description: Cavaliers wingman Mike Miller is expected to miss Monday's game against Brooklyn due to a concussion.
Insight: Miller doesn't see enough game action to be relevant in fantasy realms and his absence won't add many minutes to change the value of anyone else. Shawn Marion and Dion Waiters will eat up the few minutes Miller plays.
Description: Nets guard Joe Johnson is questionable for Monday's game against Cleveland due to flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Johnson (15.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.8 apg) missed Sunday's practice session. Bojan Bogdanovic and Alan Anderson would get more floor time if Johnson sits this one out, but have limited upside. Bogdanovic isn't a great scorer, but can rebound. Anderson can get hot an put up points, but isn't much help elsewhere in the box score.
Description: Mavericks backup point guard Raymond Felton says his ankle is 100 percent.
Insight: His ankle may be healthy, but how about his jump shot? He shot just 39 percent last season. Felton lost the starting job to Jameer Nelson and Devin Harris has played well too, so we aren't sure Felton plays enough to be fantasy worthy.
Description: Denver guard Nate Robinson (back) took a blow to the back in Friday's game and is questionable for Sunday's game against Atlanta
Insight: Robinson didn't return after the hit from Rasual Butler Friday and said it was the hardest hit I ever took in my life. He still isn't getting enough minutes to be fantasy worthy even when healthy.
Description: Los Angeles guard Jamal Crawford scored 20 points off the bench during Saturday's win over the Pelicans.
Insight: He went 6-of-11 from the field, 6-of-6 from the line, and 2-of-4 from deep. Crawford also chipped in four assists and two steals. He is averaging 17.1 ppg, 3.2 apg, 1.2 spg, and is currently a top-35 fantasy option.
Description: Kings guard Darren Collison scored a team-high 22 points during Saturday's loss to the Magic.
Insight: He was 6-of-14 from the field, 7-of-9 from the line, and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Collison also had four assists, three rebounds, and two turnovers. He has played well during his first season in Sacramento, and is currently a borderline top-50 player.
Description: Spurs G/F Marco Belinelli scored a team-high 20 points during Saturday's win versus Minnesota.
Insight: He did so off the bench, going 7-of-12 from the floor, 2-of-2 from the line, and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Belinelli also had six assists, two rebounds, and one turnover. With the Spurs' rotation as unpredictable as it gets, Belinelli should remain on the waiver wire.
Description: Spurs guard Corey Joseph played well in a spot start on Saturday night.
Insight: With Tony Parker sidelined, Joseph went 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line for 18 points, five assists, four rebounds, one steal, and zero turnovers. Whenever Parker sits, Joseph should be in all lineups, and will continue to make for solid daily plays during those times.
Description: Timberwolves rookie Shabazz Muhammad scored 20 points off the bench during Saturday's loss against San Antonio.
Insight: He did so on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, along with going 5-of-9 from the line. Muhammad also chipped in three rebounds and one 3-pointer. He is averaging 10.8 ppg and 3.4 rpg, making him a poor option.
Description: Timberwolves rookie point guard Zach LaVine recorded his first career double-double during Saturday's loss to the Spurs.
Insight: He had 22 points and 10 assists, along with three rebounds, two 3-pointers, two steals, and two turnovers. LaVine has started the past two games with Mo Williams sidelined, so it will be interesting to see if Minnesota rides the hot hand.
Description: Rockets shooting guard James Harden shot terribly from the field, but still managed a solid stat line in Saturday's win against the Suns.
Insight: He was 5-of-21 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line for 15 points. He also had 12 rebounds, seven assists, one 3-pointer, two steals, three blocks, and six turnovers. Harden is a top-five option.
Description: Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler scored a team-high 24 points during Saturday's loss to the Warriors.
Insight: He was 8-of-17 from the field and 5-of-7 from the line. Butler also had four rebounds, three assists, three 3-pointers, two steals, and three turnovers. Owners should be very happy with his output.
Description: Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams continued to fill the stat sheet in Saturday's win against Detroit.
Insight: No that is not a mistake. The 76ers have now won two of the past three games, and MCW has been a major reason why. He had 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 shooting from the line, along with 15 assists, eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks, but also seven turnovers. Owners would like to see his turnovers go down, but after a line like that, nobody can complain.
Description: Kings guard Darren Collison scored 20 points in the one-point victory over the Pacers on Friday.
Insight: Collison had a great game, eclipsing his season totals in every category. He had six rebounds, six assists, four steals to go with his 42 percent shooting. Collison should continue to be a star in his first season in Sacramento.
Description: Bucks point guard Kendall Marshall came off the bench and led Milwaukee with 20 points in the, 109-85, victory over the Heat on Friday.
Insight: Marshall was on fire, hitting on 7-of-8 shots, including going 4-for-5 behind the arc. It is always worth keeping an eye on players like this to add but considering Marshall is averaging 4.6 ppg and shooting 48.6 percent on the season as opposed to the 87.5 percent he shot Friday, a repeat performance is unlikely.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis put up another big total in scoring with 14 field goals in the loss versus the Suns Friday.
Insight: Ellis scored 33 points. Two of his 14 field goals were 3-pointers, and he shot 3-for-5 at the charity stripe. Ellis didn't do much else besides score with just two assists, two rebounds and one block.
Description: Suns guard Goran Dragic shot 10-for-15 on his way to a double-double on Friday against the Mavericks.
Insight: Dragic scored 28 points and had 13 assists in the, 118-106, victory over the Mavericks. Dragic also shot 3-for-6 from the 3-point line and 5-for-6 at the free-throw line. The point guard is averaging 16.1 ppg and 3.7 apg this season.
Description: Without Dwight Howard and James Harden on the floor, backup shooting guard Nick Johnson hit the game-winning layup on Friday as Houston won, 114-112, in overtime against the Timberwolves.
Insight: Howard is obviously out with injury and Harden fouled out on Friday, so Johnson took the winning shot with the game tied as time expired. Johnson finished with six points with four of them coming from the line.
Description: Rockets shooting guard James Harden made 11-of-17 shots, scoring 38 points in the, 114-112, victory over the Timberwolves on Friday.
Insight: Harden made 3-of-5 3-pointers and also hit on 13-of-14 free throws. All those numbers will excite fantasy owners. Harden did turn the ball over eight times and foul out of the game for those leagues who count those statistics. The shooting guard also had six assists and four rebounds.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double on Friday in the, 113-96, victory over the Lakers.
Insight: Rondo did not shoot particularly well but was still two rebounds away from a triple-double. He had 12 points and 16 assists with eight rebounds. Don't expect good shooting numbers, but Rondo will provide lots of dimes and boards.
Description: Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams continues to rack up statistics while shooting bad percentages.
Insight: Carter-Williams shot 6-of-19 and went 3-for-5 from the free-throw line on Friday against the Thunder. He did, however, nearly record another triple-double with 16 points, 14 assists and seven rebounds. Carter-Williams also had three steals.
Description: Thunder guard Russell Westbrook led the team with 27 points, hitting eight field goals and 10 free throws on Friday.
Insight: Westbrook also had seven assists and five rebounds. Westbrook is averaging 26.7 ppg, 7.3 apg, and 6.0 rpg in his last three games since returning from his injury. He has also played more than 30 minutes the last two games.
Description: Wizards guard John Wall did not score much Friday but did pickup 12 assists.
Insight: Wall shot 3-of-7, including 1-for-3 from the 3-point line on his way to scoring nine points. The 12 assists and eight rebounds keeps fantasy owners pleased. Wall also had two blocks and a steal.
Description: Hornets guard Gary Neal (injured his left shoulder) has missed four straight games and is questionable for Friday's game against New York, UPDATE: He will play on Friday versus the Knicks.
Insight: Neal hasn't played since Nov. 23. He is scoring 12.3 ppg with 2.8 rpg and 1.5 apg this season playing behind Lance Stephenson.
Description: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan will not need surgery to repair his torn thigh muscle according to the Toronto Sun.
Insight: This is fantasy news for fantasy owners as DeRozan is week-to-week. Despite the week-to-week status, he probably won't return until January. Greivis Vasquez, James Johnson, Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson will all see their values rise, but ultimately Kyle Lowry will be the guy until DeRozan return.
Description: Timberwolves guard Mo Williams has a sore back and will not play Friday night,
Insight: Williams had 14 points in a loss to the Sixers (that's the first time I've written that statement this season) and leaves Zach LeVone as the only point guard on the roster. Corey brewer is likely to spend time handling the ball.
Description: Jazz guard Alec Burks (shoulder) will sit out another game Friday.
Insight: Burks has averaged 13.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.0 apg over the first 18 contests. Rodney Hood will again shift from small forward to get the start at shooting guard, but he will draw only low-end interest.
Description: Denver guard Randy Foye (right quad tear) underwent an undisclosed medical procedure and is not going out with the team on their three-game road trip, according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post.
Insight: Foye has lost more than 10 minutes per night in playing time and is averaging only 8.4 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 2.0 apg, so fantasy owners should ignore him for now.
Description: Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard had x-rays done on his sore right hand, but they came back negative and he should be out there as always, according to Blazers beat reporter Erik Gundersen.
Insight: He is averaging 19.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 6.5 apg, and 1.5 spg. Lillard is easily a top-10 option who has not missed a game in three seasons, so no reason to leave him off your lineup card.
Description: Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving scored a career-high 37 points against the Knicks on Thursday.
Insight: It took the point guard into the fourth quarter to finally get an assist, but fantasy owners will take the scoring. He shot 12-of-18, including 3-of-6 from the 3-point line, and 10-for-11 at the free-throw line. He chipped in three rebounds, two assists and two steals as well.
Description: Timberwolves coach Flip Sainders confirmed to ESPN point guard Ricky Rubio will not return until January.
Insight: Rubio was hoping to play the day after Christmas, but that won't happen according to this latest report. Mo Williams and Zach LaVine will continue to be the point guards for Minnesota until at least January.
Description: According to Nakia Hogan of NOLA.com, a decision on whether Pelicans guard Eric Gordon (torn labrum) needs surgery is expected in the next few days.
Insight: Surgery would likely end his season. Austin Rivers was starting, but did little with the playing time, so the team went to Tyreke Evans on Tuesday who racked uo 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Description: Rockets shooting guard James Harden had a mundane fantasy night by his standards.
Insight: Harden did a little of everything but didn't stand out in any category. He scored 21 points, shooting 6-of-11 and making 2-of-5 3-pointers. He also hit 7-of-8 free throws. Harden chipped in four rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block. Stating this as just another night for Harden speaks volumes to how well the shooting guard is doing at the start of this season.
Description: Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams led the team with 20 points as Philadelphia finally won a game this season.
Insight: Carter-Williams scored 20 points and nearly finished with a triple-double once again with nine rebounds and nine assists. His shooting numbers, however, continue to be subpar. Carter-Williams shot 9-of-20, missed all three of his 3-point attempts and just 2-of-7 at the line. Meanwhile, the 76ers are 1-17.
Description: Wizards guard John Wall recorded a double-double on Wednesday.
Insight: Wall had 17 points and 15 assists, which is a season-high. Fellow starting guard Bradley Beal led the team with 27 points and added seven assists. Wall came into the game averaging 18.2 ppg and 9.3 apg.
Description: Lakers guard Kobe Bryant continued to score a lot and take a lot of shots on Wednesday.
Insight: Bryant finished with 29 points, but he shot just 36 percent from the field and 33 percent from the 3-point line. Bryant is not providing much else, and on Wednesday he had four rebounds, three assists and a steal. If owners need lots of points, Bryant is the man, but he won't provide much else.
Description: Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson had perhaps his best game of the season on Wednesday.
Insight: Stephenson scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Coach Steve Clifford may be gaining more confidence in Stephenson as he played 40 minutes on Wednesday, the most he had played in a game in nearly a month.
Description: Magic guard Victor Oladipo scored a season-high 27 points during Tuesday's loss to Golden State.
Insight: He went 10-of-14 from the field, 4-of-4 from the line, and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. The former Indiana University star also had four rebounds, and four assists. He is now averaging 14.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 1.5 spg.

Description: Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson double-doubled for the sixth consecutive game, during Tuesday's loss to Portland.
Insight: Lawson has been very impressive, and has also recorded a double-double in 10 of the past 12 games. He had 24 points, 13 assists, four rebounds, three 3-pointers, two steals, and four turnovers on tuesday. Lawson continues to improve as the season progresses.
