Description: Magic F/C Channing Frye (knee) is unlikely to be ready for opening day.
Insight: He will come off the bench for Orlando once he is healthy, and while he averaged 11.1 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game last season with the Suns, Frye really makes his mark shooting three-pointers (2.0 three-points made per game last season). He will still provide long-distance shooting for fantasy owners, but it needs to be known that he will be competeing with players like Aaron Gordon, Tobias Harris, and Nikola Vucevic for playing time this season.
Description: Orlando point guard Elfrid Payton could be a sleeper for the upcoming fantasy season.

He averaged 13.8 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game as a rookie, which should all trend up for this season. However, his .419 field goal percentage may take a few seasons, for owners to see a drastic improvement in. Oladipo will continue to get better and better, and at only 22-years-old, he should be a solid fantasy player for years to come.
Description: Magic starting point guard Victor Oladipo is expected to miss one month due to his facial fracture according to Yahoo Sports.

Description: Mavericks guard Jameer Nelson looks like he has a slight edge over Raymond Felton and Devin Harris for the starting point guard role according to ESPN Dallas.
Insight: Felton is suspended for the first four games of the season and Harris is likely better as a player coming off the bench, so Nelson sort of wins the job by default. Either way, he is worth a look for fantasy owners in the late rounds.
Description: Former Magic point guard Jameer Nelson has signed a two-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
Insight: Nelson will join a crowded backcourt with point guards Raymond Felton and Devin Harris. Considering all three have had their share of injuries it might be wise for the Mavericks to keep them all. Nelson averaged 12.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 7.0 apg last season in Orlando but lost his job to a youth movement.
Description: Channing Frye has agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract with the Orlando Magic.
Insight: For some reason, the rebuilding Magic have given Frye and Ben Gordon a combined $41 million this offseason. Frye missed all of 2012-13 due to a heart condition before starting all 82 games for the Suns in 2013-14. He averaged 28.2 minutes, 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 threes per game, but he's actually entering a more crowded frontcourt in Orlando. The Magic will have to find a way to get minutes to Tobias Harris, Maurice Harkless, Kyle O'Quinn, Nikola Vucevic, rookie Aaron Gordon and Frye. In Phoenix, Markieff Morris will likely take over the starting power forward job after finishing fourth in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season.
Description: The Magic have waived point guard Jameer Nelson, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Insight: One rumor has Afflalo going to the Bulls while there's also word he could be part of a three-team trade involving Kevin Love. Either way, Afflalo (18.2 ppg in 2013-14) is unlikey to be back with the Magic next season.
Description: Magic guard Jameer Nelson (groin strain) will miss Sunday's game against the Nets, according to John Denton of orlandomagic.com.
Insight: Nelson has shot under 40 percent from the field for the second straight season and averaged 12.1 ppg, 7.0 apg, 3.4 rpg and 2.0 3pg. His absence will open up more playing time for Victor Oladipo and E'Twaun Moore.
Description: Magic center Nikola Vucevic is expected to miss Friday's game against Washington.
Insight: He's still bothered by a sore Achilles. At this point, it's probably safe to assume that Vucevic won't play again this season, though he is traveling with the team. That leaves Kyle O'Quinn (5.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg) is getting about 28-30 minutes per game.

Description: Magic shooting guard Victor Oladipo had one of his best games Friday against the Knicks.
Insight: Oladipo (30 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds) was within one rebound of his second career triple-double. This comes on the heels of an awful game Wednesday against Cleveland (four points on 2-of-6 shooting). Oladipo (49 minutes) obviously benefited from the two overtime periods so fantasy owners should temper their expectations.

Description: Orlando center Nikola Vucevic muscled his way to 19 points and 13 rebounds Sunday against the Pacers.
Insight: Vucevic held his own against Roy Hibbert, who was limited to just six points in 34 minutes of court time. It doesn't seem to matter who he's playing against. Description: Magic guard E'Twaun Moore played just 10 minutes Sunday even though Jameer Nelson was out with a sore left knee.
Insight: Moore has proven effective in the past when he's had to fill in for Nelson for extended stretches, but the team went with a starting backcourt of Victor Oladipo and Arron Afflalo Sunday and didn't play Moore much.
Description: Orlando guard Jameer Nelson won't be making the trip to Boston for Sunday's game against the Celtics. SOURCE: Brian Schmitz, Orlando Sentinel
