Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond had a massive rebounding game versus the Mavericks.
Insight: Drummond grabbed 24 rebounds, which included seven on the offensive glass. He also scored 19 points, shooting 56.3 percent from the field. Additionally, the big man had four steals, three blocks and an assist. Drummond's only blemish was his 1-for-6 at the foul line.
Description: Pistons forward Greg Monroe came off the bench Saturday and led the team in scoring.
Insight: Kyle Singler replaced Greg Monroe in the starting lineup, but Monroe still played 32 minutes versus Singler's 26. Monroe made 8-of-13 shots, scoring 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Even if he stays a bench player, Monroe should be in fantasy lineups.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith recorded a double-double on Saturday.
Insight: Smith had 21 points and 13 rebounds in the, 95-90 victory over the Kings. He made 9-of-16 shots and went 3-for-5 at the line. Smith also had five blocks, five assists and two steals although he did have seven turnovers.
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler will start on Saturday against the Kings.
Insight: This means Greg Monroe will go back to the bench. The move is likely just a strategic move for the Kings, so fantasy owners of Monroe shouldn't worry too much. Monroe is still fantasy viable coming off the bench while Singler has been very inconsistent this season.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith scored a team-high 23 points during Saturday's loss to Philadelphia.
Insight: He was 9-of-18 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line. Smith also had eight rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, one steal, one 3-pointer, and five turnovers. He continues to be inconsistent in this rotation.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond recorded a team-high 27 points and 14 rebounds against the Celtics on Wednesday.
Insight: Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as Detroit fell in overtime, 109-102. Drummond made 12-of-18 shots and grabed an equal seven defensive rebounds and seven offensive boards. He also had five blocks and four steals to complete a pretty amazing fantasy night.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith scored a team-high 18 points in Tuesday's loss to the Lakers.
Insight: Smith also chipped in 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals, one block, and five turnovers. He has been a major disappointment this season, as he is currently ranked as the 253rd overall fantasy player.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond had his first 20-20 game of the season.
Insight: In fact, it was Drummond's first 20-rebound game of the season and just his second 20-point game. Drummond was a monster Friday, scoring 26 points and hauling in 20 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive glass. Drummond made 12-of-19 shots and 2-of-4 at the line as well.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings (160 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 5.8 apg) has missed two consecutive games and has now been downgraded to out for Friday's game against Milwaukee due to a hyperextended left thumb.
Insight: D.J. Augustin will get most of the minutes and has been a viable option averaging 15.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.5 apg in his absence over the last two contests.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings (160 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 5.8 apg) has missed two consecutive games and is questionable for Friday's game against Milwaukee due to a hyperextended left thumb.
Insight: D.J. Augustin would get most of the minutes if Jennings can't play and has been a viable option averaging 15.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.5 apg in his absence over the last two contests.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond playwed very well in Tuesday's loss to the Bucks.
Insight: He was 11-of-15 from the field for 23 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks, and one trunover. This is the second straight double-double for Drummond, and owners are hoping this busts him loose.
Description: Pistons guard/forward Caron Butler scored 20 points off the bench on Monday.
Insight: After scoring four total points in his previous two games, Butler hit three 3-pointers and went 7-of-7 from the line, while also chipping in six rebounds. With all this being said, Butler needs to be left on the waiver wire.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings posted a double-double in Wednesday's loss to Washington.
Insight: He played very well, scoring 32 points, with 10 assists, three rebounds, three 3-pointers, two steals, and two turnovers. Jennings will be inconsitent throught the season, but owners will be happy with nights like this one.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond recorded a double-double on Friday.
Insight: Drummond had one of the weakess double-doubles a player can have with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Even still, it was nice to see him get to double-figures in both categories. He also had two blocks.
Description: Pistons forward Greg Monroe had a monster night against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Insight: Monroe started at power forward versus the Knicks and took advantage getting minutes at the four rather than the three. Monroe had 23 points and 18 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass. He also made 7-of-8 free throws.
Description: Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope made 4-out-of-7 3-pointers against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Insight: Behind Caldwell-Pope's outside shooting and Greg Monroe's inside game, the Pistons held a 16-point lead at the end of the third quarter. New York came storming back, but Detroit won, 98-95. Caldwell-Pope finished with 20 points.
Description: Pistons forward Greg Monroe said he is not worried about coming off the bench for Detroit according to The Oakland Press.
Insight: We believe him. Monroe scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes Saturday. As long as he remains productive, it doesn't really matter to fantasy owners whether he starts or not.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith is starting on Saturday against the Nets.
Insight: Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy will give Smith the starting nod despite his .368 shooting percentage through the first two games. Smith takes Greg Monroe's spot in the starting lineup, but Monroe is still the better fantasy option against the Nets because of Brooklyn's weak front line.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond will be a fantasy beast besides for his free throw shooting.
Insight: Drummond's Achilles heel will again be his free throw shooting. He shot just 41.8 percent from the stripe last season. And that was an improvement from 37.1 percent his rookie season. Drummond will contribute great numbers in every other stat.
Description: Pistons guard/forward Caron Butler is off to a slow start this preseason.
Insight: Butler played 28 minutes in a preseason game a few weeks ago and did not score, missing both his shots. Deeper league squads could benefit from Butler's 3-point production, but he will not have a big enough role to make a fantasy impact in standard leagues.
Description: Pistons forward Greg Monroe may be the odd man out in the Pistons front court.
Insight: Monroe is in a contract season. He was hoping to receive a big contract through restricted free agency, but that did not happen. Monroe returns to the Pistons frontcourt with Andre Drummond and Josh Smith. Both are signed long-term, and Monroe will not be back next season, so new coach Stan Van Gundy may already be planning for life after Monroe leaves.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith might play fewer minutes at small forward this season, which could help his fantasy value.
Insight: Smith had his lowest scoring average last season since 2008-2009. With new coach Stan Van Gundy, Smith might not play as often but his scoring average should still go back up. Smith's ceiling is still not very high.
Description: Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will receive additional playing time with Jodie Meeks sidelined until at least the middle of December.
Insight: Caldwell-Pope suffered a left knee strain last week, which allows other younger players to show what they can do, but Caldwell-Pope should still be the starter on opening night. He is a late round flier in standard leagues.
Description: Pistons guard Jodie Meeks is no longer a late-round fantasy flier with his back injury.
Insight: Meeks is expected to miss at least two months, which sidelines him until basically Christmas. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will reap the benefits from Meeks' injury, and fantasy owners should target Caldwell-Pope in the late rounds of standard league drafts.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings is shooting just about 25 percent from the field this preseason in new coach Stan Van Gundy's offense.
Insight: The transition to Van Gundy's system has not been a smooth one. Jennings did have a great game last Saturday with 11 assists and 16 points. Hopefully, there is more where that came from, but we aren't counting on it. Jennings is a career 39.0 percent shooter in his five seasons.
Description: Pistons guard/forward Jodie Meeks missed practice on Saturday due to back spasms.
Insight: If Meeks continues to miss time, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope looks poised to take away Meeks' starting role. Caldwell-Pope has looked great through the preseason. Both Meeks and Caldwell-Pope are worth a late round pick in fantasy drafts.
Description: Detroit PF/C Greg Monroe has been suspended for two games after pleading guilty to a DUI.
Insight: The loss of two games shouldn't change his fantasy value over an 82-game schedule. He averaged 15.2 ppg, 9.3 rpg and 2.1 apg last season. Monroe's season debut is now Nov 1 against the Brooklyn Nets.
Description: According to USA Today, Greg Monroe has accepted the Pistons' qualifying offer of $5.5 million.
Insight: Monroe was a restricted free agent this offseason, but rather than sign and offer sheet with another team or a long-term deal with Detroit he's opted to take a one-year deal. He'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Monroe, Josh Smith and Andre Drummond did not fit well together last season and the Pistons went 29-53.
Description: The Pistons have agreed to sign swingman Caron Butler to a one-year contract with a team option for a second year.
Insight: Butler averaged 10.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.8 3pg last season with the Bucks and Thunder. He'll back up Josh Smith at small forward and get some minutes at shooting guard, but isn't likely to be a fantasy option. The Pistons have a lot of players capable of playing shooting guard after signing Butler and Jodie Meeks this offseason.
Description: The Pistons have signed veteran point guard D.J. Augustin.
Insight: He signed for two years and $6 million, according to NBA reporter David Aldridge. Augustin averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 assists, and 2.2 threes over 61 games with the Bulls last season after the Raptors got rid of him, but he won't see 30.4 minutes per game as Brandon Jennings' backup. There's going to be a battle for minutes in the Pistons backcourt, as the team added Augustin and Caron Butler to Jennings, Will Bynum, Peyton Siva, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Singler and Jodie Meeks on Sunday.
Description: The Pistons have signed swingman Jodie Meeks to a three-year, $19 million contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Insight: Meeks' fantasy value isn't going to be any higher than it was last season, when he averaged 33.2 minutes per game for a depleted Lakers club and recorded 15.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.1 3pg and 1.4 spg. Rodney Stuckey isn't expected to re-sign with Detroit, but the Pistons still have second-year guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Singler as well as several high-usage offensive players in Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith and Greg Monroe.
Description: With Stan Van Gundy as the new team president and head coach, the Pistons aren't likely to re-sign restricted free agent Greg Monroe this offseason. SOURCE: Sean Deveney, Sporting News
Insight: The team would prefer to build around second-year center Andre Drummond. Detroit would be able to match any contract offer Monroe gets on the open market this summer though it doesn't look like they will. The Pistons could also work out a sign and trade deal like the one they pulled off last season to acquire Brandon Jennings from Milwaukee.
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey's 26 points Saturday against the Celtics were his most since Jan. 20.
Insight: Stuckey didn't shoot very well in February and March but he has hit 19-of-42 (.452) from the field and averaged 18.3 ppg the last three games. His minutes will be more consistent if Will Bynum (foot, missed last two games) remains out of the lineup.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond racked up 23 points and 18 rebounds Friday in a loss to Brooklyn.
Insight: Drummond has produced 14 or more rebounds in each of his last three games. He's one of three players in the NBA averaging at least 13 ppg and 12 rpg this season (Dwight Howard and Kevin Love).
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith has scored 50 points on 20-of-39 shooting the last two games.
Insight: Smith has actually attempted more shots per game this season than last (16.2 to 15.6) but he has averaged fewer points per game (17.5 to 16.5) because he has hit a career-low .418 from the field.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings did all that he could Wednesday in a loss to Cleveland.
Insight: He finished with 17 points, 13 assists, five boards and two steals. Five of the six field goals he made were from three-point range. Jennings now has 17 double-doubles this season. That's a career-high.
Description: Detroit big man Andre Drummond (neck) appeared healthy at Thursday's practice, according to an nba.com report.
Insight: Drummond missed his first game of the season Wednesday against Denver. He'll get a full medical report after the Friday morning shootaround and then we will know more. Greg Monroe would play center if Drummond can't go.
Description: The plan is for Andre Drummond to have his neck re-evaluated Friday after shootaround. If everything checks out, he could play later that night against the Suns. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: Drummond missed his first game of the season Wednesday against Denver. Greg Monroe (22 points, four steals on Wednesday) will lose some of his effectiveness when Drummond (13.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) resurfaces.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond (neck) will not play on Wednesday and he's questionable to play Friday, according to beat writer Dave Pemberton.
Insight: Tests showed no structural damage in Drummond's neck. Drummond (13.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) took a spill after bumping into Roy Hibbert Saturday against Indiana. Jonas Jerebko and Charlie Villanueva each will see increased minutes, though neither is fantasy worthy. Greg Monroe will shift over to center and should be guaranteed double-digit rebounds.
Description: All of Andre Drummond's tests on his head and neck came back negative. SOURCE: Detroit Free Press
Insight: Drummond (13.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) took a spill after bumping into Roy Hibbert Saturday against Indiana. The injury isn't considered serious though it's uncertain whether or not Drummond will play Wednesday against the Nuggets.
Description: Filling in for Andre Drummond (head/neck injury) at center, Greg Monroe posted 17 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and three steals Saturday in a loss to Indiana.
Insight: Drummond went down in the first quarter at which point Monroe shifted to center with Josh Smith sliding over to the four. Monroe's three rejections tied a season-high. He'll have a few days off before Wednesday night's game in Denver.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond suffered a head injury Saturday against Indiana. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: Drummond got tangled up with Paul George and Roy Hibbert while going for a loose ball and appeared to take a shot from Hibbert. He was on the ground for several minutes before being helped off the court. Though the Pistons haven't made an official announcement yet, it looks like Drummond will be out for the rest of tonight's game. For now, Detroit will go with Greg Monroe at center, Josh Smith at power forward and Kyle Singler at the three.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond suffered a right finger injury in Tuesday's win over Sacramento. SOURCE: Vincent Goodwill, Detroit News
Insight: He played through it so we don't think fantasy owners have much to be concerned about. Even with the bad finger, Drummond still produced 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. The win snapped Detroit's three-game losing streak.
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler had 11 points, seven rebounds, five steals, three assists, two threes and a block in 40 minutes Tuesday against Sacramento.
Insight: Singler has averaged 35.5 minutes, 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 threes, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks in 17 games since he inherited the starting shooting guard job from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings hit just one of his 10 field-goal attempts Tuesday and had five points.
Insight: One thing we've seen with Jennings is that when things go bad with his shot, they go REALLY bad. For example he shot just 26.7 percent in 10 games from Dec. 28 to Jan. 20 and has hit only 49-of-150 (.327) in his last 13. In between those two frigid streaks, however, he put up 24.7 ppg on .426 shooting in 10 games. You just have to ride out the slumps when it comes to owning the Pistons point guard.
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith threw up a second straight 20-point game Tuesday against Sacramento, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two threes.
Insight: Smith has hit five threes on eight shots his last two games, which is scary because it may encourage him to take more of them. He's shooting just 24.5 percent from 3-point range on 3.3 attempts per game this season.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond (18 points, 22 rebounds) recorded his 45th double-double of the season Sunday against the Celtics.
Insight: All three of Detroit's starting front court players had double-doubles on Sunday. Drummond has collected 16 rpg over his last six contests. His 13.1 rpg average this season is third in the league behind DeAndre Jordan (13.9 rpg) and Kevin Love (13.2 rpg).
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe meant business Sunday against Boston.
Insight: Monroe chipped in with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting. He was active on the boards as well, corralling 15 rebounds in 39 minutes of action. The 23-year-old out of Georgetown has delivered 23 ppg and 12 rpg over his last three appearances.
Description: Josh Smith jump-started the Pistons' offense with 28 points Sunday against Boston.
Insight: Smith has always been in love with three-pointers for no apparent reason but tonight, he actually made a few of them (3-of-6). The Pistons have been awful lately, losing seven of their last eight contests. Fortunately for fantasy owners, Smith has averaged 20.8 ppg during that span.
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey didn't play in the second half Friday night because interim coach John Loyer "just decided to" go with rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Insight: The Pistons continue to jerk Stuckey's minutes around, making him a frustrating player to own in fantasy. After averaging 28 minutes, 16.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists from Jan. 17 to Feb. 10, Stuckey has put up just 10.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.6 apg in 24.6 mpg his last 11 games.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond made his presence felt Saturday in a loss at Houston.
Insight: Drummond (13.2 ppg, 12.9 rpg) has finished with exactly 16 points and 17 rebounds in each of his last two games. He also blocked two shots Saturday, the same number he had Wednesday versus San Antonio. Now how's that for consistency?
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings exited Wednesday's game with a sprained toe and is questionable for Saturday's game against Houston.
Insight: Jennings has put up excellent fantasy numbers this season (16.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.5 spg, two threes per contest), in addition to a career-high 7.9 apg and the Pistons will be hard-pressed to fill the void if he can't run. Will Bynum is the most likely candidate to try.
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum took over at point guard after Brandon Jennings left with a toe injury Wednesday against the Spurs and finished with 18 points and nine assists in 31 minutes.
Insight: Jennings only played 13 minutes and didn't score. His absence also allowed Rodney Stuckey to get 31 minutes, and Stuckey put up 17 points and four assists. The Pistons don't play again until Saturday so Jennings might not have to miss a game.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings exited Wednesday's game with a sore toe and is questionable to return, according to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News.
Insight: Detroit is down double digits to the Spurs on the road late in the third quarter, so it wouldn't surprise us if the Pistons just held out Jennings for the rest of the game. Will Bynum and Rodney Stuckey will handle point guard duties in his absence.
Description: Pistons guard Chauncey Billups is out indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last week.
Insight: The 37-year-old Billups will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks and may not return this season. He wasn't helping fantasy owners at his current production level (3.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 2.2 apg) so this won't change much.
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe had another strong game Saturday with 17 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks in 40 minutes against Dallas.
Insight: Monroe has had his best month of the season in February. Over 11 games, he has recorded 16.1 points, 9.8 boards, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks. He has picked up eight rejections his last five games after failing to block a single shot in the 24 prior contests.
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe did it all Friday in a win against Atlanta.
Insight: Monroe led the team with 22 points on 10-for-17 shooting. He also collected a game-high 15 rebounds to go with two blocked shots. Monroe was one of three Pistons to score at least 20 points on Friday.
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler had 13 points, three steals and three treys Tuesday against Charlotte.
Insight: Singler has started the last six games and averaged 38.3 minutes, 12 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 threes and 1.8 steals in that span. His increased playing time has come at the expense of Rodney Stuckey and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey played just 17 minutes and had two points on 1-of-11 shooting Tuesday against Charlotte.
Insight: Stuckey played 12 minutes and scored four points in Detroit's last game before the All-Star break after averaging 28 minutes, 16.5 points and 3.2 rebounds from Jan. 17 to Feb. 10 (13 games). His playing time and game are too inconsistent to trust in fantasy leagues.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond had 16 points, 22 rebounds, two blocks and one steal Tuesday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Drummond was the Rising Stars MVP during All-Star weekend with 30 points and 25 rebounds, but grabbing 20+ boards in a real game is much more impressive. He has done that three times this season and is averaging more than 13 boards per game.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond is your 2014 NBA Rising Stars Challenge MVP.
Insight: His 30 points helped Team Hill to a 142-136 victory over Team Webber. The 25 rebounds Drummond corralled were a Rising Stars record. The 20-year-old is quickly becoming one of the most dominant big men in the NBA.
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum won't have to worry about being in coach Mo Cheeks' doghouse anymore, because Cheeks was fired on Sunday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of yahoo.com.
Insight: Bynum got into an argument with Cheeks after playing just three minutes in the first half Wednesday, was benched in the second half and did not enter either of the last two games. He has averaged just 18 minutes, 7.7 points and 2.8 assists per game this season, but his presence affects Rodney Stuckey and Kyle Singler. The Pistons have been using Singler as the starting two-guard and giving Stuckey the majority of the backup point and shooting guard minutes with rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope sprinkled in.
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey has averaged 16.2 ppg his last 12 games.
Insight: Stuckey scored 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting Saturday and added four rebounds and three assists. He's been getting most of the backup point guard and shooting guard minutes lately, especially since Will Bynum got into an argument with coach Mo Cheeks. Bynum hasn't played the last two games (DNP-CDs).
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith missed the last 10 minutes Friday night after twisting his ankle, but he sat just two minutes Saturday against Denver and had 30 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and one block in the victory.
Insight: Smith has scored 23+ points in three straight games and averaged 10 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals in that span.
Description: Pistons coach Mo Cheeks said the starting shooting guard "... could be a game-to-game situation." SOURCE: mlive.com
Insight: Kyle Singler started the last two games and averaged 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 3.0 threes. Rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has played just 12.3 minutes per game in February and Will Bynum got into an argument with Cheeks during Wednesday's loss and didn't played Friday, so it looks like Singler's job to lose at the moment.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has scored at least 20 points in six straight games.
Insight: Jennings made 7-of-15 from the field (two threes) and 10-of-12 from the foul line for 26 points Monday against the Heat. He has averaged 18.7 field-goal attempts, 9.0 free throws and 25 points per game during his last six contests.
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey played 36 minutes Monday at Miami, his most since Dec. 15.
Insight: One game after leaving with lightheadedness, Stuckey made 8-of-17 shots, scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He's averaging 25.8 minutes per game this season and has played all 39 of his games off the bench.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond only needed 23 minutes to pick apart the Sixers on Saturday night.
Insight: Drummond nailed 10-of-11 shots for 22 points in Detroit's easy 17-point victory. The Motor City big man corralled 14 rebounds while also swatting away five blocks. Only Minnesota's Kevin Love has recorded more double-doubles than Drummond this season (40 for Love, 34 for Drummond).
Description: Pistons big man Andre Drummond went off for 13 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks Tuesday in an easy win over the Magic.
Insight: And get this: he shot 3-of-4 from the free throw line! Drummond (12.6 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 1.8 bpg) is quickly becoming the best young center in the NBA. His emergence this year might ultimately make Greg Monroe (14.2 ppg, 8.8 rpg) expendable.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond had a monster game Friday against the Pelicans.
Insight: Drummond ended up with 21 points, 20 rebounds and two blocks. He was his usual shaky self from the line (3-of-6) but aside from that, Drummond didn't give fantasy owners much to complain about on Friday. The 20-year-old was recently chosen as one of the 28 players on Team USA's preliminary roster for the World Cup of Basketball to be played later this summer.
Description: Brandon Jennings paced the Pistons with 30 points Wednesday in a loss to Milwaukee.
Insight: Jennings was held without a point in his previous outing so obviously Wednesday was a much better night for the 24-year-old. His shooting has been off all year (36.9 percent coming into Wednesday's game) but his 8.3 apg ranks fifth in the NBA.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith has scored at least 22 points in four of the last five games.
Insight: Unfortunately, he had only four points the one game he failed to score 22 in that span. He had 24 points on 12-of-22 shooting Monday against the Clippers but continues to be a miserable 3-point shooter. Smith has missed his last nine 3-point attempts and made just 4-of-31 (.129) from long distance over his last 11 games.
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has made just 35 of his 131 field-goal attempts over his last 10 games, a disgusting .267 percentage.
Insight: Jennings failed to make a shot on seven attempts in 28 minutes Monday against the Clippers. He found himself on the bench for the final six minutes of the game while Rodney Stuckey handled the point.
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey only played three minutes Friday night after displaying poor energy when he was on the court.
Insight: Stuckey has been dealing with a shoulder injury since mid-December and sat out three games before returning Wednesday, but Friday's lack of playing time had nothing to do with the injury. Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports that Will Bynum is expected to see more minutes at point guard Saturday with Brandon Jennings at the two after that combo impressed coach Mo Cheeks Friday. Bynum had 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes against Philadelphia.
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith had quite a night Friday against the Sixers.
Insight: He finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, five blocks and four steals in 43 minutes of action. Smith continues to rely too heavily on the three-pointer (he attempted eight of them on Friday) but most nights his versatility offsets his poor shot selection.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith came away with 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals, two blocks and one three Tuesday at New York.
Insight: There are few players in the league who can fill up a stat sheet like Smith when he's on. The 28-year-old has averaged 18.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks over his last 11 games.
Description: It didn't affect the outcome much but Pistons center Andre Drummond collected 15 points and 14 boards Sunday in a blowout loss to the Grizzlies.
Insight: Another day, another double-double for the 20-year-old UConn product. Drummond's offensive game is limited to mostly dunks and layups but at least he's been consistent. Detroit's next game is Tuesday night against the Knicks.
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond filled up the stat sheet with 16 points and 16 rebounds in a losing effort Monday against the Wizards.
Insight: It was Drummond's 23rd double-double of the season. That ties him with Clippers forward Blake Griffin for third in the NBA. Minnesota's Kevin Love leads the NBA with 28 double-doubles in 30 games.
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith has made just 4-of-20 from the field and scored nine total points in blowout losses the last two days.
Insight: Smith averaged 23.8 points on 49.2 percent shooting in six games prior to Friday's disaster. He'll try to right the ship Monday at home against the Wizards, the same team Detroit lost to Saturday.
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) attempted to play Saturday but he asked out of the game after just six minutes of action.
Insight: Stuckey also left Friday's game after aggravating a shoulder injury that caused him to miss two games earlier in December. He'll probably need to miss more time, opening up more minutes for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Will Bynum and Kyle Singler.
