Description: Mavericks center Tyson Chandler left Sunday's game with a knee injury but has since returned according to ESPN Dallas.
Insight: Chandler collided with Anthony Davis, and it initially did not look good as teammates had to help Chandler off the court. X-rays, however, were negative, and he returned to the game. Hopefully he avoids further injury.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki led the team with 25 points in the, 97-89, victory over the Nuggets Friday.
Insight: Nowitzki was 8-of-18 from the field, but an incredible 4-for-5 from the 3-point line. He also was 5-for-5 at the line and grabbed nine rebounds. Nowitzki is certainly closer to the end of his career than the beginning, but he is still putting up solid numbers this season: 18.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 46.3 shooting percentage.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki did not play on Wednesday, but is expected back in the lineup for Friday's game against Denver.
Insight: Tyson Chandler will also return from a rest day. Nowitzki's scoring is down because he is surrounded by more talent this season. That's good for the Mavericks, but not as good for Dirk's fantasy owners. He's cracked the 20-points mark just once the last seven games.
Description: Mavericks point guard Rajon Rando was very productive on Tuesday night.
Insight: He shot 10-of-16 fromt he field for 21 points, seven assists, five rebounds, one 3-pointer, four steals, and three turnovers. Rondo will continue to be slightly inconsistent on a loaded Dallas roster.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis scored a team-high 28 points during Tuesday's overtime victory against the Kings.
Insight: Ellis went 11-of-23 from the field, 4-of-5 from the line, and 2-of-3 from deep. He also had 10 dimes, four boards, four steals, one block, and two turnovers. Ellis is the main option in Dallas.
Description: Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion should be considered doubtful for Sunday versus Sacramento.
Insight: Marion said the way his hip feels now, he won't play, according to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal. Marion is only averaging 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds this season. If he's out J.R. Smith and James Jones should see more time.
Description: Mavericks point guard Rajon Rando has been an awful shooter since his explosion at the Boston Garden on Friday.
Insight: Rondo hit a career-high five 3-pointers versus the Celtics, but in the two games since then, Rondo has just three field goals. He is 3-for-19 over the last two games, including going 1-for-13 on Monday versus the Nets. Rondo scored two points, but did have 10 rebounds and 14 assists to salvage the night.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis led the team with 19 points in Monday night's victory in Brooklyn.
Insight: Ellis shot 6-of-16, hitting one 3-pointer and all six of his free-throw attempts. He also had seven rebounds, four assists and a steal. Ellis continues to be the top fantasy option on the Mavericks.
Description: Mavericks point guard Rajon Rando lit up the Boston Garden in his return on Friday, but apparently the hot streak lasted just the one game.
Insight: Rondo scored a season-high 29 points, Friday, but was just 2-of-6 for 4 points Sunday against Cleveland. He did dish out eight assists pull down four rebonds and added two steals, but we were certainly expecting more.
Description: Mavericks point guard Rajon Rando lit up the Boston Garden in his return on Friday.
Insight: Rondo scored a season-high 29 points as he took a season-high 19 shots, making 12 of them. He also shot 5-for-7 from the 3-point line, which is a season-high. Rondo added six rebounds, five assists and a steal to cap off the great night.
Description: Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion should return to the lineup Friday against the Hornets.
Insight: Marion is near the end of his career, but with LeBron James out of the lineup could see enough time to be low-end fantasy worthy. Marion is only averaging 5.6 points and 3.5 rebounds this season, but could grab some of James' 18 shots per game.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis led the team with 20 points on Tuesday.
Insight: Ellis didn't wow in any other statistical category, going 8-for-15 from the field and 1-of-2 from 3-point. He also had four steals and two assists. That's pretty much what Ellias has done all season: average 20.6 ppg while shooting 46 percent with 4.5 apg and 2.2 rpg.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis was unconscious during Saturday's victory against the Spurs.
Insight: He went 15-of-23 from the field, 3-of-6 from the line, and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. Ellis also had one assist, four steals, and two turnovers. He should benefit from the addition of Rajon Rondo.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis was 11-of-20 from the floor on Wednesday.
Insight: Ellis hit one 3-pointer and two foul shots along with 10 other field goals to score 25 points. Ellis also had eight assists, two rebounds and a steal. That's the first time this season Ellis had at least 25 points and seven assists in the same game.

Insight: Parsons went 4-for-6 from the 3-point line and made 8-of-9 free throws as well. Parsons also chipped in seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. This month, Parsons is averaging 20.6 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 2.9 apg.
Description: Mavericks center Tyson Chandler had eight points and 14 rebounds against his former team on Tuesday.
Insight: Chandler had the most rebounds at Madison Square Garden, where his former team resides. Chandler didn't get many offensive opportunities but was efficient, shooting 80 percent. The Dallas center will get lots of rebounds and blocks but won't score much this season.
Description: Mavericks small forward Chandler Parsons (back) is questionable for Tuesday's game against New York.
Insight: He has been playing well of late, but missed Saturday's game and was still dealing with the stiff back Monday. Richard Jefferson played 35 minutes Saturday as his replacement and posted a surprising 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Description: Mavericks forward Richard Jefferson got a rare start and played well in Saturday's loss to Golden State.
Insight: With Chandler Parsons out, Jefferson recorded 13 points, 13 rebounds, two 3-pointers, and two turnovers. Owners should not expect numbers like that again this season. Leave Jefferson on the waiver wire.
Description: Mavericks backup point guard Raymond Felton says his ankle is 100 percent.
Insight: His ankle may be healthy, but how about his jump shot? He shot just 39 percent last season. Felton lost the starting job to Jameer Nelson and Devin Harris has played well too, so we aren't sure Felton plays enough to be fantasy worthy.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis put up another big total in scoring with 14 field goals in the loss versus the Suns Friday.
Insight: Ellis scored 33 points. Two of his 14 field goals were 3-pointers, and he shot 3-for-5 at the charity stripe. Ellis didn't do much else besides score with just two assists, two rebounds and one block.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki didl not play on Wednesday against the Bucks, but is expected back for Friday's game against Phoenix.
Insight: Nowitzki had played 42 minutes on Tuesday, so was given additional rest time. these things are needed when you are 36-years-old with a lot of mileage. He's averaging 19.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.5 apg and has 31 three-pointers in 18 games.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis scored a season-high 38 points in Tuesday's win against the Bulls.
Insight: He was 16-of-35 from the field and 5-of-5 from the line. Ellis also had two rebounds, one assist, one 3-pointer, two steals, and three turnovers. He has now scored at least 30 points in two of his past three games.
Description: Mavericks point guard Jameer Nelson has been upgraded to probable forTuesday's game against Chicago while still dealing with back spasms.
Insight: Nelson practiceed Monday and while he might not be 100 percent he's likely to try to play. Nelson has not produced as well as fantasy owners would like, averaging just 7.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.6 apg.
Description: Mavericks point guard Jameer Nelson is questionable forTuesday's game against Chicago while still dealing with back spasms.
Insight: Nelson is expected to practice Monday to see if he can go Tuesday. Nelson has not produced as well as fantasy owners would like, averaging just 7.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.6 apg. Devin Harris posted 15 points, five rebounds and four assists on Saturday.
Description: Mavericks backup point guard Raymond Felton is questionable for Tuesday's game against Chicago while still dealing with a bad right ankle.
Insight: Felton lost the starting job to Jameer Nelson and Devin Harris has played well too, so we aren't sure Felton plays enough to be fantasy worthy even when healthy. He averaged just 9.7 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 5.6 apg last season in New York.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki (rest) will miss Saturday's game against Philadelphia.
Insight: This is not what owners want to hear, as he was probably in line for a big night against the lowly 76ers. However, owners need to expect Dallas to give Nowitzki some games off throughout the season. Brandon Wright will likely draw the start.
Description: Mavericks point guard Jameer Nelson has been downgraded to out for Friday's game against Toronto while dealing with back spasms.
Insight: Nelson missed Wednesday's game, his first absence of the season. Nelson has not produced as well as fantasy owners would like, averaging just 7.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.6 apg. Devin Harris started Wednesday and should get the start again Friday with J.J. Barea also seeing additional minutes.
Description: Mavericks point guard Jameer Nelson is questionable for Friday's game against Toronto while dealing with back spasms.
Insight: Nelson missed Wednesday's game, his first absence of the season. Nelson has not produced as well as fantasy owners would like, averaging just 7.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.6 apg. Devin Harris started Wednesday.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis scored a season-high 34 points to help Dallas defeat Washington, 105-102, on Wednesday.
Insight: Ellis tied his season-high in shots taken as well with 21, hitting 10 of them. He made 2-for-4 from the 3-point line too. In the last three games, Ellis is averaging 27.3 points while shooting 47 percent from the field.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki took only nine shots on Saturday and scored 15 points.
Insight: That is extremely surprising considering Dallas scored 131 points, but the Mavericks did play in their second straight blowout. Nowitzki had played just 43 minutes the last two games and taken 17 shots. At least he is making the most of his opportunities as he has made 13 of those shots.
Description: Knicks center Samuel Dalembert has fantasy value in deep two-center leagues.
Insight: Dalembert is a double-double threat even at age 33. He hasn't averaged double-double numbers in each category for an entire season since 2007-2008, but he has the potential for big numbers any night.
Description: Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion will only be relevant in very, very deep fantasy leagues this season.
Insight: Marion is at the end of his career. He played enough minutes and posted sufficient stats with Dallas to be a viable bench player in deep leagues last season, but that seems unlikely this season with Cleveland.
Description: Mavericks point guard Jameer Nelson appears to have the starting job over Raymond Felton and Devin Harris, but they will both cut into Nelson's playing time.
Insight: Nelson has always been a solid assist guy and can hit the three when needed. We're projecting 10.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 7.0 apg, but fantasy owners must be aware of the injury risk. Nelson hasn't played more than 68 games in any of the last three seasons and has never played more than 79 games in 10 NBA seasons.
Description: The Mavericks' three-year, $46 million offer to Chandler Parsons got them a top quality, underrated fantasy small forward for 2014-15
Insight: Parsons should be the No. 3 option behind Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis and after a bit of slow start while trying to fit in on a new team will produce solid numbers - 15.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.3 spg.
Description: Mavericks guard Monta Ellis has always been a solid fantasy option because of his quickness and his never having met a shot he didn't like.
Insight: He curbed his shot selection a bit in 2013-14 and saw his shooting percentage rise in both two pointer and from beyond the arc. We think that trend continues so are projecting 19.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 6.0 apg and 2.1 spg.
Description: The Mavericks have re-signed Dirk Nowitzki to a three-year deal for $30 million.
Insight: It was a foregone conclusion that Nowitzki would re-sign with the only team he's ever played with. The 36-year-old averaged 21.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.6 threes while shooting .497 from the field over 80 games last season. His terrific mid-range game has allowed him to age gracefully.
Description: Raymond Felton has been traded to Dallas. SOURCE: Marc Spears, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Chandler is also headed to the Mavs in exchange for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Wayne Ellington, Shane Larkin and a pair of second-round picks. All in all, it's a pretty good haul for the Knicks, who were looking to deal Felton anyway. This will be the fifth team Felton (9.7 ppg, 5.6 apg in 2013-14) has played for since 2010.
Description: Dirk Nowitzki will become a free agent on July 1st but he's confident he'll remain a Maverick. SOURCE: Dallas Morning News
Insight: Nowitzki has no interest in playing anywhere other than Dallas. It's worth noting that the Mavericks, led by Nowitzki and Monta Ellis, were the closest team to beating the Spurs in this year's playoffs. San Antonio needed seven games to close out its cross-state rival.
Description: The Raptors are planning to pursue G/F Vince Carter in free agency. SOURCE: ESPN
Insight: Despite his age (37), Carter should draw plenty of interest on the open market. Carter (11.9 ppg in 2013-14) had some of his best seasons in Toronto, making the All-Star team four times during his tenure there.
Description: Dallas center DeJuan Blair (ten points, 14 rebounds) had his second double-double of the series Friday in a victory over San Antonio.
Insight: Blair, who was suspended for Wednesday night's Game 5, picked up right where he left off in Game 4 (12 points, 11 assists). At 6-foot-7, Blair isn't a traditional center but he's better than anyone else the Mavs have to fill that role right now. Look for coach Rick Carlisle to ride the hot hand again in Game 7.
Description: Monta Ellis kept the Mavericks alive Friday by providing 29 points in a win over San Antonio.
Insight: That ties his highest point total of the series. Sunday's Game 7 in San Antonio will determine who gets to face Portland in the next round. Ellis has averaged 21.8 ppg on 42.2 percent shooting for the series.
Description: Mavericks F/C DeJuan Blair is probable for Game 6 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals Friday against San Antonio.
Insight: Blair served his one-game suspension for kicking Tiago Splitter and should be back in the lineup. He's only averaging about nine minutes a night in the playoffs, but putting up 5.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in that short span of time.
Description: The NBA has suspended Mavericks F/C DeJuan Blair one game without pay for kicking Spurs center Tiago Splitter in the head during Monday's game, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
Insight: Blair and Splitter collided while going for a loose ball and Blair kicked him in the head while both players were on the floor. He was ejected from the game and will miss Game 5 of the series.
Description: Dallas shooting guard Monta Ellis blew up for 29 points Saturday in a last-second win over San Antonio.
Insight: Ellis was awful in Game 1 (4-for-14, 11 points) but he's looked much better in his last two outings, averaging 25 ppg on 47.6 percent shooting. The Mavs can extend their series lead to 3-1 with a win Monday in Game 4.
Description: Mavericks sixth man Vince Carter sunk the game-winning three-pointer as time expired Saturday against San Antonio.
Insight: Carter faked out Manu Ginobili in the corner and got the shot off just before the buzzer. Vinsanity only shot 3-of-8 from the field but nobody is going to remember the other seven shots he took. Dallas leads the best of seven series two games to one heading into Monday's Game 4.
Description: Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki had an awful game Sunday versus San Antonio.
Insight: Dirk (11 points, eight rebounds) made just four of his 14 field goal attempts and was invisible when the Mavs needed him most in the fourth quarter (0-for-4, two fouls, one turnover in the final six minutes of regulation). The Spurs have given him trouble all season as the seven-footer is averaging just 17 ppg in five games against them in 2013-14 (season average is 21.7 ppg).
Description: Monta Ellis tied a season-high with 37 points Saturday in the Mavs' playoff-clinching win over the Suns.
Insight: Ellis (19.0 ppg, 5.8 apg) gave his team a monumental effort when it needed him most and now Dallas is back in the playoffs for the 13th time in the last 14 seasons. The Mavericks can lock up the No. 7 seed in the West with a win Wednesday in their regular season finale against Memphis.
Description: Mavs small forward Shawn Marion hurt his right foot Tuesday against Utah but expects to be back in action Thursday versus San Antonio. SOURCE: Dallas Morning News
Insight: With Dallas fighting to save its season, Marion is determined to play through the pain. The Matrix has struggled against the Spurs this season, averaging 4.5 ppg on 18.8 percent shooting in two previous matchups.
Description: Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert (back) will be a game-time decision Thursday against the Clippers.
Insight: Dalembert has averaged 23.4 minutes, 8.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks over his last four games but is dealing with a stiff back. If he can't play Thursday, Brandan Wright and Vince Carter will see more playing time.
Description: Mavericks guard Jose Calderon had 22 points, eight assists, four rebounds and six triples in 37 minutes Tuesday against the Thunder.
Insight: Calderon (11.5 ppg, 4.8 apg, 2.4 rpg) took an elbow to the face early in Sunday's game against the Nets and didn't return, but he's fine. The 32-year-old's assists are down as he's had to share the backcourt with Monta Ellis while also playing with Dirk Nowitzki, who doesn't put up shots after getting the ball as quickly as some of the other top-scoring power forwards in the NBA. However, Calderon has made a career-high 2.4 threes per game.
Description: Mavericks guard Jose Calderon took an elbow to the face Sunday against Brooklyn and is questionable for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City.
Insight: Devin Harris would handle most of the point guard duties for Dallas if Calderon can't return though the offense would likely run through hot Monta Ellis (24 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 5.5 apg over the past two contests).
Description: Mavs center Samuel Dalembert came down with 15 rebounds Sunday in a loss to Brooklyn.
Insight: He also contributed 12 points and seven blocked shots. Dalembert has come on strong lately with averages of 13.0 rpg and 3.7 bpg over his last three contests. If you're desperate at center, you could do a lot worse than Dalembert.
Description: Mavs guard Monta Ellis will draw the start Sunday against Brooklyn. SOURCE: Dwain Price, Fort Worth Star-Telegram
Insight: Ellis (18.8 ppg, 5.8 apg, 3.6 rpg) injured his thigh Friday against Denver but was never expected to miss tonight's game. His field goal percentage this season (45.7) is his highest since 2008 (53.1).
Description: According to the Dallas Morning News, Mavericks G/F Vince Carter dislocated his pinky twice on Friday, but X-rays came back negative and he played the rest of the game with his finger taped up.
Insight: Carter had 13 points, four assists, three rebounds, three threes and two steals in 24.5 minutes Friday night and has averaged a solid 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.6 threes and 2.4 assists his last 14 games.
Description: Dallas shooting guard Monta Ellis (thigh) is expected to play Sunday against the Nets, according to Earl K. Sneed of mavs.com.
Insight: Ellis missed Saturday's practice with a tight contusion. He has been a consistent second option to Dirk Nowitzki this season, averaging 18.8 points on .457 shooting, 5.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals. He has scored double-digit points in 65 of his 70 games.
Description: Mavs swingman Vince Carter dislocated his pinkie Friday against Denver.
Insight: His X-rays came back negative and he's already returned to action. Carter is still an excellent three-point shooter but he can't get to the hoop like he used to. He's worth having on your roster but isn't a must-start.
Description: Dallas guard Devin Harris (knee/ankle) is probable for Tuesday's game against Miami.
Insight: Harris said his right knee buckled. He missed Wednesday's game against Indiana. He's only averaging 18.6 minutes per game this season so fantasy owners won't have much reason to start Harris (8.9 ppg, 3.8 apg) even when he does play.
Description: Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki (ankle) will play Wednesday against the Pacers, according to Earl K. Sneed of mavs.com.
Insight: Nowitzki suffered a sprained ankle in the first half Tuesday at Charlotte but was able to return to the game and finished with 16 points in 24 minutes. The injury snapped a string of seven consecutive games with 20+ points.
Description: Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki told reporters after last night's game that he would be available Wednesday against the Pacers. SOURCE: Chuck Cooperstein, 103.3 FM ESPN Dallas
Insight: Nowitzki suffered what is believed to be at least the 12th sprained ankle of his career on Tuesday. He played through the injury and scored 16 points in 24 minutes of action. Expect a similar output tonight in Indiana.
Description: Dallas guard Devin Harris may have tweaked his knee Tuesday when Bobcats point guard Ramon Sessions stepped on his foot. SOURCE: Earl Sneed, Mavs.com
Insight: Harris said his right knee buckled but he doesn't expect to miss Wednesday's game against Indiana. He's only averaging 18.6 minutes per game this season so fantasy owners won't have much reason to start Harris (8.9 ppg, 3.8 apg) even if he does suit up on Wednesday.
Description: Dallas shooting guard Monta Ellis is questionable for Tuesday's game against Charlotte
Insight: His right hamstring was reportedly tight at Monday's practice. It doesn't sound like Ellis will miss the game, but fantasy owners would be wise to check back before game-time. He has an off shooting night Sunday going 3-of-9 for just 11 points.
Description: It's official. Dallas shooting guard Monta Ellis will be in the lineup Sunday against Boston. SOURCE: Mavs PR on Twitter
Insight: His status had been in question after straining his right hamstring Friday against Utah. It doesn't sound like Ellis (19.5 ppg, 5.8 apg) will be on any kind of minutes restriction, so fantasy owners can feel good about starting him.
Description: Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle thinks guard Monta Ellis (hamstring) has a good chance to play Sunday against Boston. SOURCE: Earl K. Sneed, mavs.com
Insight: Ellis suffered a hamstring strain late in Friday's win over the Jazz. The guard has been very good all season, averaging 19.5 ppg on 46.2 percent shooting, 5.8 apg, 3.3 rpg and 1.8 spg. He's a game-time decision.
Description: Mavericks forward Shawn Marion is day-to-day with a shoulder injury, according to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News.
Insight: Marion hurt his shoulder and ribs on a fall earlier this month and appears to still be dealing with it. He's questionable for Friday's game, and his absence would open up minutes for Vince Carter and Jae Crowder.
Description: Mavericks point guard Devin Harris has already claimed the backup point guard role from Shane Larkin and saw significant minutes in Sunday's contest.
Insight: Harris used to be a fantasy stud, but hasn't been healthy the past few seasons and has fallen off the radar screen. He's scored 14 points in each of the last two games and added 11 assist in 40 minutes of play. He'll backup Jose Calderon. He missed the first three months of the season with a toe injury.
