Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner left the Monday night game for a time after re-injuring his thumb.
Insight: He played just 21 minutes, scoring nine points with three rebounds and four assists. X-rays were negative, but his Wednesday status is to be determined. He's been a solid fantasy option since become the Celtics starting point guard.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley left Sunday's game for a time before returning to the game against Golden State due to a sprained left thumb.
Insight: Bradley has averaged 17.0 ppg over the past three games and he's taking enough shots to continue at that pace. The problem with Bradley is that he doesn't offer much other than scoring, averaging just 2.8 rpg and 1.5 apg over the first 41 contests.
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger had 20 points and eight rebounds versus the Bulls on Friday.
Insight: Sullinger led the team in scoring, going 7-of-18 from the field. He made two 3-pointers and all four of his free-throw attempts. Sullinger also had eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger posted a double-double during Monday's victory against the Pelicans.
Insight: He had a team-high 27 points and 10 rebounds, and went 9-of-17 from the field and 8-of-9 from the line. Sullinger also had three assists, one 3-pointer, one steal, one block, and one turnover. The chances will be there for him.
Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner had a weird, but productive line on Friday night.
Insight: He shot 3-of-15 from the field and 3-of-6 from the line for just nine points. Turner, however, did have 15 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two turnovers. He will continue to start for Boston.
Description: After an impressive outing Jan. 5 against Charlotte, Celtics small forward James Young was a surprise non-factor against Brooklyn.
Insight: Young posted 13 points in 18 minutes against Charlotte, but didn't see any time Wesnesday due to coaches decision. There aren't a lot of minutes available with Jeff Green and Jae Crowder in front of him.
Description: Celtics guard Evan Turner was the beneficiary of Jameer Nelson's absence as his workload increased to 40 minutes. Nelson might miss Monday's game too.
Insight: Turner went 12-of-22 from the field and 4-of-5 from deep for 29 points, six assists, five rebounds, one steal and seven turnovers. Marcus Smart, the more obvious choice to see more time, played just 17 minutes.
Description: Celtics point guard Jameer Nelson is questionable for Monday's game against Charlotte after missing Saturday due to a sprained right ankle.
Insight: With Nelson sidelined Saturday, it wasn't rookie Marcus Smart getting more work, it was Evan Turner who played 40 minutes and scored 29 points. That's well above Turners normal per game usage.
Description: The Celtics benched rookie Marcus Smart on Wednesday.
Insight: Evan Turner earned the start instead. Boston is 3-0 with Turner starting, so it will be interesting to see if he stays in the lineup. Smart played 28 minutes off the bench and scored 11 points with six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart will move back into the starting lineup on Friday.
Insight: This is good news for fantasy owners. Jameer Nelson was playing pretty well as the team's starting point guard, but Smart has more upside in both real life and fantasy. Hopefully Smart can turn around his somewhat disappointing rookie campaign.
Description: Boston center Tyler Zeller shot a perfect 10-for-10 from the line on his way to leading the Celtics in scoring on Tuesday.
Insight: Zeller had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Zeller's numbers have dramatically increased this month. He is averaging 12.8 ppg and 7.1 rpg in December after he averaged 6.4 ppg and 3.9 rpg in November.
Description: The Dallas Mavericks have traded three players and two draft picks for Celtics point guard Rajon Rando.
Insight: The Mavericks will also receive rookie forward Dwight Powell. Although this is an intriguing real life move, this likely hurts Rondo's fantasy value. Rondo will probably not handle the ball as much as he did in Boston because of the other playmakers in Dallas, which means fewer assists. Since he has terrible shooting numbers, Rondo might not get enough opportunities to continue being a top fantasy option at point guard. Now might be the time to sell on Rondo.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double against the Magic.
Insight: Rondo has 13 points and 15 assists in the, 109-92, victory. Rondo shot 50 percent from the floor and perhaps owners are lucky he didn't get to the free-throw line to lower the fantasy team's free-throw percentage. He also had seven rebounds.
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk scored a team-high 30 points during Monday's win versus Philadelphia.
Insight: He did so off the bench and finished 12-of-17 from the field, 3-of-3 from the line, and 3-of-5 from deep. Olynyk also had nine rebounds, one assist, three steals, two blocks, and four turnovers. As long as Olynyk continues to come off the bench, his vlalue will be limited.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double on Friday in the, 113-96, victory over the Lakers.
Insight: Rondo did not shoot particularly well but was still two rebounds away from a triple-double. He had 12 points and 16 assists with eight rebounds. Don't expect good shooting numbers, but Rondo will provide lots of dimes and boards.
Description: Boston center Tyler Zeller played the most minutes he has all season on Friday and responded by scoring a season-high 24 points.
Insight: Zeller is averaging just 6.6 ppg and 4.1 rpg but had 24 points and 14 rebounds against the Lakers. He had it going on, hitting on 10-of-11 shots and all four free throws. It is obviously unlikely Zeller repeats this performance, but he should start to get some more looks from fantasy owners if he remains in the starting lineup.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo continues to struggle in fantasy.
Insight: Rondo only took six shots on Friday versus the Grizzlies and as a result, he scored four points. He missed his only 3-point attempt and didn't get to the line. He also had five rebounds and four assists.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is averaging 12.5 assists over his last four games.
Insight: Rondo had 13 assists against the 76ers on Wednesday to go with nine points, five rebounds and two steals. He still isn't shooting great at the line, however, going 2-for-4 versus the 76ers. Rondo is shooting 30 percent at the charity stripe, which is killing teams in roto leagues.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is expected to return from his hand injury on Wednesday against the Thunder according to ESPN Boston.
Insight: He missed Saturday's game due to th fact earlier that day he had a screw removed from his hand. He practiced on Tuesday and is ready to go. Rondo has been solid this season with 9.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 11.2 apg.
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk recorded a double-double in Saturday's win against the Bulls.
Insight: He was 6-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line for 18 points. Olynyk also had 11 rebounds, one assist, one block, and four turnovers. He is averaging 13.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg, making him a solid option at center moving forward.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds while playing 30 minutes against the Pacers.
Insight: It was surprising that Green played just 30 minutes considering Marcus Smart left the game with an injury. Green has had bigger days, but he still had a nice fantasy outing on Friday. He should continue to get more opportunities because of Smart's injury.
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart left Friday's game against the Pacers on a stretcher.
Insight: Smart will need an X-ray. Hopefully it is a short-term injury because he was really starting to play well. In the meantime, Avery Bradley, Evan Turner and Jeff Green get a boost in value for fantasy.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored a season-high 35 points against the Mavericks on Monday.
Insight: Green took a remarkable 28 shots and hit 14 of them. He was 5-for-12 from the 3-point line. Green also had seven rebounds. We expect Green to continue to receive a similar volume of opportunities as he did Monday.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is awaiting clearance to ramp up his practice time.
Insight: Rondo hasn't been officially ruled out of the opener, but the best estimates have him about a week away. He can still fill a box score, it's just he's injury prone and more than likely going to be traded at some point this season. Then his fantasy value will be dependent upon where he goes.
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass is turning into an irrelevant fantasy player.
Insight: Bass has started at power forward for Boston the last few seasons, but Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk are poised to start in the front court for the Celtics to start the 2014-2015 season. Bass will have a bench role and will not be worth owning.
Description: Celtics center/forward Jared Sullinger has been on fire this preseason.
Insight: In his latest preseason game, Sullinger lit up the 76ers with 21 points, 8-for-10 shooting, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and four 3-pointers. He is a lock to start at power forward and should be a top-50 fantasy player this season.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green could provide fantasy owners some additional scoring numbers this season.
Insight: Green has been getting more minutes at power forward this preseason, so his field goal percentage should go up. He averaged 16.9 points per game last season, which was a career-high, and shot 34 percent from the field.
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart should see extended minutes without Rajon Rondo in the lineup the first few weeks of the season.
Insight: Rondo is out at least the first week and could miss up to three weeks to start the season. Smart has played well through preseason and should benefit without Rondo. Smart is the future at point guard for Boston, but it is hard to predict how he fits in the rotation once Rondo does return.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley is shooting an incredible 65.2 percent from the field in preseason.
Insight: Bradley hit six 3-pointers against the 76ers on Thursday to finish with 20 points. Last season, he shot an amazing 39.5 percent from downtown. Bradley won't provide many other stats, but he will likely score a lot.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has fantasy bust written all over him.
Insight: Rondo will miss at least the first week of the season and up to three weeks. Even when he was active last season, Rondo did not post statistics to place him in the top-100 fantasy players. Plus, fantasy owners have no idea which team he might finish the season with because the Celtics could trade him. Let someone else deal with Rondo this season.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo did some non-contact offensive work during Friday's practice according to the Boston Herald.
Insight: Despite the good news, Rondo has a ways to go before he is approved for contact drills. With Marcus Smart playing well through preseason so far, Rondo may be expendable in a trade. Rondo is a risky pick with big upside on draft day.
Description: Celtics rookie Marcus Smart is expected to see extended work in training camp without Rajon Rondo, who is out for six-to-eight weeks.
Insight: Smart did not look good at shooting guard over the summer, so he will have the opportunity to play his natural point guard position. Smart is now a late-round possibility with Rondo out the first 10 games or so.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo underwent surgery on his broken matacarpal in his left hand and is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks according to the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo suffered the injury slipping in the shower at his home. He will likely miss the first 3-10 games of the season. With the trade rumors swirling around Rondo, Boston will likely not play their point guard until he is definitely healthy. Do not pick Rondo in the first half of the draft.
Description: The latest rumor, courtesy of talk show host Tyler Spence, is for Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is a trade with Sacramento.
Insight: If true, this would be horrible news for Darren Collison's fantasy owners because as it stands he's set to be the Kings starting point guard. Of course, after a year of rumors concerning Rondo, we will believe it when someone actually pulls the trigger on the trade.
Description: Boston PF/C Jared Sullinger will sit Wednesday versus the Wizards. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: He's missed the last two games with a sprained ankle. Sullinger (13.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg) took major steps in 2013-14 and could be in for a breakout season if Kris Humphires leaves in free agency as he's expected to.
Description: Celtics PF/C Kris Humphries won't be available Wednesday against Washington. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: He's been battling knee tendinitis. It was an up and down season for Humphries, who averaged 8.4 ppg and 5.9 rpg in 69 appearances. He'll hit free agency this summer and has likely played his final game with the Celtics.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo (bruised shin) won't compete in Wednesday night's season finale. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: The C's are keeping Jared Sullinger (ankle), Kris Humphries (knee) and Jerryd Bayless (knee) out as well. Rondo will finish the year with 11.7 ppg, 9.8 apg, 5.5 rpg and 1.3 spg in 30 contests.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo (shin) will start Monday against Philadelphia, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo missed the last two games with a bruised shin. He has averaged 11.8 points, 9.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 29 games since he returned from a torn ACL, but shot a career-low 40.1 percent from the field. The career 25.2 percent 3-point shooter never attempted more than 1.3 threes per game prior to this season but has hoisted 3.1 per game in 2013-14.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo missed both Friday and Saturday and can't be counted on for Monday's game with Philadelphia.
Insight: He's been out with a bruised shin. Don't be surprised if the Celtics keep Rondo sidelined for the rest of the season. He's posted 11.8 ppg, 9.7 apg and 5.3 rpg in 29 contests since returning from a torn ACL.
Description: An MRI on Jerryd Bayless' knee showed only a minor bone bruise. He could be available for Monday night's game in Philadelphia. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Bayless has had his moments this season but at only 9.3 ppg, he isn't your best fantasy option. With only two games left on the schedule, it's possible the Celtics could keep him out as a precaution.
Description: Boston C/PF Kelly Olynyk poured in 25 points Saturday in a 111-99 victory over the Cavs.
Insight: Olynyk's 12 rebounds were a career-high. Jared Sullinger and Kris Humphries were both absent on Saturday, which is probably why Olynyk was able to log 39 minutes. He's overachieved as a rookie, leading all first-year big men in points (8.2 ppg) and rebounds (5.1 rpg) despite being the No. 13 pick in the draft.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley stayed hot by providing 25 points Saturday in a 12-point win over Cleveland.
Insight: The victory gives Boston its first winning streak since early March. Bradley has averaged 23.7 ppg on 53.2 percent shooting over his last three contests. He's knocked down 13 of his 16 three-point attempts during that stretch.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo won't be available Saturday against Cleveland. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: He's out with a bruised shin. With only two games left on the schedule, don't be surprised if the Celtics keep Rondo sidelined for the rest of the season. He's posted 11.8 ppg, 9.7 apg and 5.3 rpg in 29 contests since returning from a torn ACL.
Description: Boston guard Jerryd Bayless suffered a sprained right knee Friday and is out for Saturday's game against Cleveland.
Insight: He'll have an MRI and won't travel with the team to Cleveland, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast Sportsnet New England. Bayless averages 9.3 ppg, but he's been all over the place, scoring 25 and 23 points against Detroit and Philadelphia respectively and just two and five versus Charlotte and Atlanta.
Description: Boston PF/C Kris Humphries (knee) will play Friday, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.
Insight: Humphries (8.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg) missed the last two games. He had some fantasy value earlier this season but isn't worth using with Jared Sullinger and Brandon Bass taking up most of the frontcourt minutes.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had 19 points, 12 assists, four rebounds and three steals Wednesday at Atlanta.
Insight: The Celtics have a back-to-back coming up Friday and Saturday and Rondo will miss one of those games. Rondo has been his old self since the start of February, averaging 13.2 points, 10.7 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Description: Boston C/F Jared Sullinger expects to play Wednesday against the Hawks despite sitting out Monday's practice with a quad injury. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Sullinger has had his moments this season, averaging 13 points and 7.8 rpg since the All-Star break. He should get more playing time in 2014-15 after Kris Humphries (8.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg) inevitably leaves in free agency.
Description: Boston guard Jerryd Bayless has averaged 16.7 points over his last six games.
Insight: Bayless had 25 points, four rebounds, three assists and five threes Saturday at Detroit. He'll remain in the starting lineup while Avery Bradley (ankle) is out and will gain value when Rajon Rondo sits out of a back-to-back game.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley will not play Wednesday due to a strained right Achilles, according to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.
Insight: Bradley left Monday's game with soreness in his right ankle. He missed 19 games earlier this season due to a sprain in the same ankle. Jerryd Bayless will start at shooting guard in his place.
Description: Boston guard Jerryd Bayless has averaged 16.7 points, 3.0 assists, 2.3 threes and 1.7 steals over his last three games.
Insight: Bayless started in place of Rajon Rondo (out for rest) and had 18 points, five assists and four threes in 33 minutes Monday against the Bulls. Avery Bradley left with soreness in his troublesome right ankle, so Bayless may end up remaining in the starting lineup.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo needed nine stiches in his forehead Wednesday after taking an elbow from Greivis Vasquez. He's expected to return. SOURCE: Abby Chin, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: Rondo has returned to the bench with a bandage over his forehead. He's one point away from his tenth double-double of the season.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo already knows he won't be playing Monday against Chicago. SOURCE: Chad Finn, Boston Globe
Insight: He plans to be in the broadcast booth alongside Comcast Sportsnet's Mike Gorman and Cedric Maxwell. Rondo hasn't been playing back-to-backs since his knee surgery so at least he has a valid excuse for not playing.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is back after sitting out Monday against Dallas. SOURCE: Sean Grande, CBS Sports
Insight: Rondo (11.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 5.0 rpg) doesn't play the second game of back-to-backs. Fortunately for fantasy owners, there are only two back-to-backs left on Boston's schedule. Jerryd Bayless (8.9 ppg) got the start in Rondo's place Monday but he'll head back to the bench tonight against Miami.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo should be ready to go for Friday's matchup against Phoenix.
Insight: Rondo has averaged 34.6 minutes, 14.4 points, 10.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 threes since the start of February. Boston GM Danny Ainge said on a radio appearance Thursday that point guard Rajon Rondo probably won't play back-to-backs for the rest of the season, however, the Celtics were off Thursday so Rondo is expected to play.
Description: Boston GM Danny Ainge said on a radio appearance Thursday that point guard Rajon Rondo probably won't play back-to-backs for the rest of the season, according to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo has averaged 34.6 minutes, 14.4 points, 10.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 threes since the start of February, but he sat out four games in that span. The Celtics have four more back-to-backs in their last 17 games.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo will sit out Wednesday in the second game of a back-to-back.
Insight: Rondo has averaged 34.6 minutes, 14.4 points, 10.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 threes since the start of February, but he still hasn't progressed to playing back-to-backs yet. Phil Pressey will start in his place Wednesday against the Knicks.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo logged a season-high 41 minutes on Tuesday, though he wasn't able to do much with it.
Insight: Rondo (eight points, eight assists, three rebounds) didn't come out the entire second half. With Rondo scheduled to rest Wednesday against the Knicks, head coach Brad Stevens knew he could give him a heavy workload. Phil Pressey (2.3 ppg) will start in Rondo's place tomorrow night.
Description: Boston PF/C Kris Humphries had one of his best games of the season Sunday against Detroit (20 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, two blocks).
Insight: He's actually been seeing a lot of minutes lately (26.5 mpg over his last four appearances). With that said, Humphries had just nine points combined in his previous two outings and can't be relied on for consistent fantasy production. He's unlikely to be back with the Celtics next season.
Description: Celtics C/PF Kelly Olynyk was productive Sunday in a win against Detroit.
Insight: Olynyk (7.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg) put up 18 points in 18 minutes, giving him a point per minute. He also added six rebounds and two assists. He's been a pleasant surprise for the Celtics and should have a chance to make the All-Rookie team.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo was feeling generous Sunday in a win against the Pistons (18 assists in 33 minutes).
Insight: That's a season-high for Rondo and his most assists in a game since November 17, 2012 (20 against Toronto). The four-time All-Star has registered a double-double in four of his last six games.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green was on target Sunday against Detroit.
Insight: Green blew up for 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting. At one point, he was 5-of-9 from deep though he came up empty on his last three attempts. He's averaged 18.3 ppg in four appearances this month.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo (20 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, four steals) was impressive Friday in a win over Brooklyn.
Insight: Rondo (12.2 ppg, 8.2 apg) is quietly rounding into form. The C's are going nowhere this season but if Rondo stays and Boston lands a top-five pick in the draft, this team could be in the playoff mix in 2015.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley is expected to miss the next two weeks with a bruised ankle. SOURCE: Boston Herald
Insight: Bradley's MRI came back negative. The Celtics are angling for a high draft pick and won't be rushing Bradley back into action. With Gerald Wallace out for the season, Jerryd Bayless (8.6 ppg) has emerged as the team's best option at shooting guard.
Description: Boston G/F Gerald Wallace had successful knee and ankle surgery on Tuesday. SOURCE: Celtics on Twitter
Insight: Obviously, he's lost for the season. Wallace (5.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg) gave the Celtics very little in his 58 games this season and is unlikely to be re-signed. His days of being a helpful fantasy contributor are over.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will have an MRI Wednesday, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and will have missed 15 of the last 18 games if he sits out Wednesday. The guard told coach Brad Stevens that he feels "much better" this time around compared to his first return from the injury.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo flirted with a triple-double Saturday versus the Pacers.
Insight: Rondo collected 12 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in a season-high 38 minutes of court time. The Celtics point guard drilled three of his six three-point attempts in the contest. He's shooting a career-high 36.4 percent from that distance this season.
Description: Boston center Kelly Olynyk (toe) is doubtful for Saturday's game against Indiana, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Insight: He sat out Wednesday with a toe injury after scoring 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists on Feb. 24. The team is expected to get Jared Sullinger back from a concussion Saturday so Olynyk won't have any fantasy value when he returns to the lineup.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will be reevaluated next week at some point, according to the Celtics on Twitter.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and will have missed nine of the last 10 games after sitting out Saturday. Coach Brad Stevens said Bradley will be checked out in the middle of next week or later, so he may also have to sit out next Wednesday and Friday too. Jerryd Bayless has averaged 19.3 ppg his last three games and should continue to see big minutes with both Bradley and Gerald Wallace out.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo had a season-high 22 points to go with 11 assists and three steals in 36 minutes Wednesday against the Hawks.
Insight: Rondo irked team officials when he stayed behind in Los Angeles on Saturday for his birthday celebration while the team traveled to Sacramento. The point guard wasn't going to play anyway Saturday because it was a back-to-back, but he may face a fine. There hasn't been anything wrong with his play this month, however, as he has averaged 15.3 points, 9.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
Description: Boston coach Brad Stevens said Avery Bradley (ankle) is doing "much better" but still out through Saturday, according to beat writer Scott Souza.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and will have missed nine of the last 10 games after sitting out Wednesday and Saturday. Jerryd Bayless will start Wednesday, with Gerald Wallace moving to the bench.
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger is not expected to play Wednesday against the Hawks, according to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Sullinger suffered a concussion Friday against the Lakers. Kris Humphries started the last two games in his place and averaged 28.5 minutes, 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals. He should have another good night against Atlanta's thin front line.
Description: According to the Boston Herald, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo did not have permission to leave the team for his birthday celebration in Los Angeles this past weekend.
Insight: Rondo hasn't been playing back-to-backs so he was never going to play Saturday against the Kings. The fact that he stayed behind in Los Angeles and didn't at least cheer his teammates on from the bench in Sacramento has rubbed some people the wrong way. We'll see if this results in a fine or any other type of discipline for Rondo.
Description: According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, the Celtics have no plans to buyout Kris Humphries.
Insight: Instead, Boston will allow him to leave in free agency at the end of the year. Humphries had one of his best games this season Saturday in a loss to Sacramento (19 points, eight boards in 36 minutes). He could be worth adding if Jared Sullinger's head injury keeps him out for an extended period.
Description: With Boston center Jared Sullinger (concussion) out, Kris Humphries will get another start in the post on Monday night.
Insight: Humphries came up big Saturday night with 19 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Utah center Derrick Favors will likely not play leaving the Jazz vulnerable in the middle and making Humphries a viable fantasy option.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo did not play Saturday night but is probable for Monday's game against Utah.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 13.7 points, 9.7 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in six February games, but still misses a game when the team plays on back-to-back nights.
Description: With Jared Sullinger (concussion) out Saturday night, Boston center Kris Humphries played 36 minutes and had 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals.
Insight: Humphries had some fantasy usefulness when he averaged 25.9 minutes, 10.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks from Dec. 31 to Jan. 21, but even with Saturday's performance he has recorded just 19.5 minutes, 7.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game in his last 14. Sullinger's concussion was minor so Humphries isn't likely to stay in the starting lineup for long.
Description: Boston center Jared Sullinger suffered a mild concussion during the fourth quarter Friday, according to the Celtics on Twitter.
Insight: We found out earlier that Sullinger would miss Saturday's game after taking a blow to the head Friday, so the fact that he has a concussion isn't surprising. The 21-year-old big man has been tearing it up, averaging 31.7 minutes, 16.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks over his last nine games. Kris Humphries, Brandon Bass and Kelly Olynyk will absorb Sullinger's minutes.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will not play Saturday night against Sacramento.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 13.7 points, 9.7 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in six February games, but he is still being kept under wraps. Perhaps in hopes of a better draft position in June.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said he's not ready to play in back-to-back games, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 14.5 points, 9.3 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals in February, but he still hasn't played both ends of a back-to-back. It looks like Rondo will miss either Friday's or Saturday's game.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley (ankle) will miss at least the next four games, according to the Celtics on Twitter.
Insight: Bradley sprained his ankle twice the week prior to the All-Star break and has missed three of the past four games. Bradley's backup, Jerryd Bayless, played 25 minutes last Wednesday and had 11 points, nine assists and five rebounds.
Description: Celtics center Kelly Olynyk has recorded the first two double-doubles of his career in the last two games.
Insight: Olynyk had 15 points and 10 boards over 31 minutes Wednesday against the Spurs after putting up 14 and 11 in 21 minutes Monday. Olynyk could see big minutes after the All-Star break if veterans Brandon Bass and Kris Humphries are traded, but while they are still on the team he probably won't put up fantasy-worthy numbers.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will play Wednesday against the Spurs, according to A. Sherrod Blakely of csnne.com.
Insight: Rondo is off his minutes restriction and has averaged 14 points, 11 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals in February, but he still hasn't played both ends of a back-to-back. We'll see if the team allows him to do that after the All-Star break. Boston's next back-to-back is Feb. 21-22.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley didn't play Monday and is expected to miss Wednesday's game against San Antonio.
Insight: He's dealing with a badly sprained ankle. The Celtics are playing for the lottery right now so they'll give Bradley (14.3 ppg) as much time as he needs to recover. Gerald Wallace (4.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.5 apg) has been filling in at shooting guard.
Description: Jeff Green led a late fourth quarter charge as the Celtics escaped Milwaukee with a 16-point victory on Monday night.
Insight: Boston outscored the Bucks 32-18 in the final frame after being neck and neck for the first three quarters. Green had a lot to do with that as 11 of his game-high 29 points came in the game's final 12 minutes. The 27-year-old has averaged 25 ppg over his last four appearances. Make sure Green is in your lineup Wednesday when the C's host San Antonio.

Insight: He's headed for an MRI on his ailing ankle. The Celtics are playing for the lottery right now so they'll give Bradley (14.3 ppg) as much time as he needs to recover. Gerald Wallace (4.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg) will take over the shooting guard duties while he's out.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will miss Monday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Whatever minutes limit Rondo was on earlier in the year is obviously gone after he played 37 minutes on Sunday. Rondo is still sitting out back-to-backs so he'll have the night off on Monday. Expect rookie Phil Pressey (2.2 ppg, 2.6 apg) to start in his place.
Description: Boston center Jared Sullinger ran his double-double streak to five in a row Sunday against Dallas.
Insight: Barely. Sullinger finished with 11 points, his lowest since an eight-point outing against the Knicks on January 24th. Regardless, Sullinger has been a fantasy goliath recently, averaging 21.2 ppg, 13.4 rpg and 1.2 bpg over his last five contests. He's finally reached must-start status in all formats.
Description: Brad Stevens let Rajon Rondo loose Sunday in a loss to Dallas.
Insight: Whatever minutes limit Rondo was on earlier in the year didn't seem to be in play Sunday as the star point guard went off for 15 points, five rebounds and 12 assists in 37 minutes of action. Obviously, the 37 minutes were a season-high. Rondo will have the night off Monday but he should be ready to go Wednesday versus San Antonio. He's a must-start in all formats.
Description: Comcast Sportsnet's A. Sherrod Blakely reports that Boston guard Avery Bradley will be available for Sunday night's tilt against the Mavericks.
Insight: Bradley aggravated his sprained ankle Wednesday in a win over Philadelphia. Luckily for fantasy owners, it only caused him to miss one game. Though not a polished offensive player yet, Bradley is still good for double-digit points most nights. He's also a capable defender with a career average of just under one steal per game (0.9 spg in 190 NBA contests).
Description: According to MassLive's Jay King, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo called his knee "fine" after sitting out Friday's game, but he does not know whether he'll play Sunday.
Insight: Rondo is dealing with general soreness. Celtics coach Brad Stevens indicated the team will make a decision on Rondo's status Sunday around 3:15 p.m. rather than wait for the 6 p.m. ET start. If he plays Sunday, Rondo will most likely sit out the following day at Milwaukee.
Description: Celtics center Jared Sullinger matched DeMarcus Cousins Friday night in a battle of top big men.
Insight: Sullinger torched the Kings for a career-high 31 points on 14-for-24 shooting. He also corralled 16 rebounds as Boston won for the third time in a row. Cousins posted the same exact numbers (31 points, 16 boards) in the losing effort.
Description: According to MassLive's Jay King, the Celtics expect Rajon Rondo to play Sunday against Dallas but sit out Monday versus the Bucks.
Insight: Rondo is beginning to round into form, averaging 11.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.8 spg and 8.5 apg in his last five appearances. With that said, head coach Brad Stevens still isn't taking any chances with Rondo's knee, which means he's likely to sit out back-to-backs the rest of the season. Keeping Rondo out might also have something to do with Boston's desire to land a top pick in this year's draft.

Insight: Head coach Brad Stevens says Rondo is suffering from "general soreness" and has not suffered a setback in his comeback from knee surgery. Rookie Phil Pressey (2.2 ppg, 2.6 apg) will get the start at point guard for the struggling Celtics (3-7 in their last ten).
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo is questionable for Friday's game against Sacramento with what is being labeled "general soreness."
Insight: Rondo ended up with eight points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while logging a season-high 32 minutes Wednesday against the Sixers. The minutes limit from last month appears to be gone, but check back to verify that he'll be in the lineup.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo flirted with a triple-double Wednesday against Philadelphia.
Insight: Rondo ended up with eight points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while logging a season-high 32 minutes. Look for the four-time All-Star to have another big game Friday against the Kings.
Description: Boston small forward Jeff Green dominated the Sixers for 36 points Wednesday in Philadelphia.
Insight: Here are Green's point totals from his last seven games: 39, 16, 8, 14, 18, 8, 36. The point is, Green is INCREDIBLY inconsistent. Some nights he looks like LeBron James. Other nights he looks like he should be playing in the D-League. Fantasy owners will get another chance to roll the dice with him Friday when the C's host Sacramento.
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass' 36 minutes Sunday were his most since Dec. 13.
Insight: Bass scored 19 points with nine rebounds and a block against Orlando, his former team. The 28-year-old recently regained the starting power forward job from Kris Humphries but coach Brad Stevens frequently changes his lineup.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had his best game of the season Sunday versus the Magic.
Insight: Rondo showed no ill effects from his ACL injury, torching Orlando for 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting. He also contributed six rebounds, ten assists and three steals. Boston doesn't play again until Wednesday against the Sixers.

Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley (14.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.4 apg) practiced Friday and should be upgraded to probable for Sunday.
Insight: Bradley will end up missing five and a half games. The Celtics have started Gerald Wallace at shooting guard in Bradley's absence, but Crash has done little that could be considered fantasy worthy in this role.
