Right Field Player Notes
For The Last 15 Days

Carlos Beltran, RF, NYY9/30/2014 8:22:00 PM
Description: Yankees right fielder Carlos Beltran underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur in his right eblow according to MLB.com.
Insight: There is no danger of Beltran missing spring training as he should be able to return to all baseball activities in 12 weeks. He had a bad season, hitting .233/.301/.402 with 15 home runs and 49 RBI, but he should be much better after healing from the injury.
Josh Reddick, RF, OAKHot9/30/2014 11:42:00 AM
Description: Athletics outfielder Josh Reddick is a lifetime .318 hitter with three home runs and a 1.182 OPS versus Royals right-hander James Shields.
Insight: Reddick managed just 363 at-bats this season, but did hit 12 homers with a respectable .763 OPS. He finished the regular season with three consecutive multi-hit games and should be a viable fantasy option in this favorable matchup.
Bobby Abreu, RF, NYM9/28/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Mets right fielder Bobby Abreu will get the start in right field on Sunday.
Insight: He announced he is going to retire after the season, so the Mets decided to give him one last go-around. Abreu will be hitting second against Astros' starter Nick Tropeano.
Hunter Pence, RF, SFG9/27/2014 2:36:00 PM
Description: It's a rare day off for Giants right fielder Hunter Pence who is not in Saturday's starting lineup.
Insight: Pence has played 160 games this season, meaning it's the first game he's missed in 2014. He played 162 last season and 160 in 2012. He's the definition of everyday player and that's how he gets solid fantasy numbers. He's batting .279 with 20 HR, 74 RBI, 106 runs and 13 steals.
Jason Heyward, RF, ATL9/27/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Braves right fielder Jason Heyward is 6-for-14 with two homers against Phillies right-hander A.J. Burnett.
Insight: Heyward has put together a solid, though unspectacular season, batting .268 with 11 HR, 58 RBI, 74 runs and 19 steals. We like this matchup.
Marlon Byrd, RF, PHIHot9/27/2014 10:33:00 AM
Description: Phillies right fielder Marlon Byrd is a career .435 hitter (10-for-23) with three homers against Braves right-hander Aaron Harang.
Insight: Byrd is on a modest six-game winning streak. He has a career-high 25 homers, and still has an outside chance to eclipse his career-mark of 89 RBI, set with Texas in 2009.
Steve Pearce, RF, BALHot9/27/2014 10:30:00 AM
Description: Orioles 1B/OF Steve Pearce, he of the game-tying home run that allowed Derek Jeter his heroic moment on Thursday, has a favorable matchup Saturday.
Insight: Pearce is 5-for-15 with two homers against Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ. He's had a great season, batting .295 with 21 HR and 49 RBI in just 332 at-bats.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, CHC9/27/2014 10:12:00 AM
Description: Cubs right fielder Nate Schierholtz is 5-for-11 (.455) will three extra-base hits and a 1.545 OPS versus Miami starter Nathan Eovaldi.
Insight: It's been an ugly season for Schierholtz batting .191 with seven homers and 37 RBI. He did have a pair of hits Thursday, but probably can't take advantage of the matchup.
Jay Bruce, RF, CIN9/27/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Reds right fielder Jay Bruce is a good choice to sit Saturday as he's hitless in 16 at-bats against Pittsburgh left-hander Francisco Liriano.
Insight: Bruce's numbers are down this year. He is still two home runs shy of 20 on the year, which he has reached in each of his first six seasons, and well of the 30 plus homers he's mashed the past three seasons. Bruce is batting .217 with 18 home runs and 66 RBI this season.
Curtis Granderson, RF, NYM9/26/2014 10:48:00 PM

Ryan Braun, RF, MIL9/26/2014 4:23:00 PM
Description: Consider this when deciding whether to keep Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun on your dynasty roster. Manage Ron Roenicke is considering moving him to first base.
Insight: Milwaukee has three solid outfielders with Braun in Carlos Gomez, Khris Davis and Gerardo Parra, so it makes sense that one of them could move to first base. Milwaukee primarily used Mark Reynolds (.196, 22 HR) and Lyle Overbay (.237, 4 HR) at 1B this season.
Jayson Werth, RF, WAS9/26/2014 11:59:00 AM
Description: Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth is not in Friday afternoon's starting lineup.
Insight: The Nationals will go with an outfield of Ryan Zimmerman, Denard Span and Bryce Harper. Werth put together a solid season, batting .287 with 16 HR, 81 RBI and an .837 OPS. The 36-homer 2009 season was a career year and this appears to be the new "normal."
Curtis Granderson, RF, NYM9/25/2014 4:41:00 PM
Description: Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson has three-hit day in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader versus Washington.

Jose Bautista, RF, TOR9/25/2014 2:14:00 PM

Description: Giants right fielder Hunter Pence has had a great season, but Thursday's matchup is not in his favor.
Insight: Pence is 2-for-16 (.125) in his career against Padres starter Andrew Cashner. Pence has had a good season, but over his last ten games, he has just three hits. Avoid this matchup.

Nick Markakis, RF, BAL9/23/2014 10:47:00 PM
Description: Orioles right fielder Nick Markakis went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run as the Orioles eliminated the Yankees with a 5-4 victory on Tuesday.
Insight: Markakis has really struggled this month, batting .169, so Baltimore would really like to see their lead off guy start hitting before the playoffs. He has a line of .275/.339/.382 with 40 extra-base hits and 77 runs in 629 at-bats this season.
Jose Bautista, RF, TOR9/23/2014 9:56:00 PM

Description: Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun is an ugly 1-for-14 (.071) with five strikeouts against Oakland starter Sonny Gray.
Insight: Calhoun is batting .275 with 16 HR, 57 RBI and 88 runs in 122 games and proven to be a reliable fantasy outfielder. Just not Tuesday in this unfavorable matchup.
Carlos Beltran, RF, NYY9/23/2014 12:13:00 PM
Description: Yankees right fielder Carlos Beltran (elbow) has been mostly out of the lineup lately while dealing with the injury.
Insight: Beltran has played just three games since Sept. 9 and had nine at-bats. Fantasy owners have long since abandoned Beltran.
Steve Pearce, RF, BAL9/23/2014 11:55:00 AM
Description: Orioles 1B/OF Steve Pearce is questionable for Tuesday's game against the NY Yankees due to a sore right wrist.
Insight: The Orioles just keep on chugging along in large part due to Pearce's bat. The pair of home runs brings his total to 20 on the season. He also has 25 doubles, 48 RBI and 50 runs in just 327 at-bats. Pearce also has hits in his last 10 games.

Description: Reds right fielder Jay Bruce is a career .480 (12-for-25) hitter with two home runs, two triples, a double and eight RBI against Cardinals starter Lance Lynn in his career.
