Beaumont, TX (Sports Network) - Lamar University will host Texas College on Sept. 3 to open its 2011 football schedule.

The game replaces one originally scheduled against Langston University.

Texas College is an NAIA member which went a mere 1-9 last year.

Lamar is coming off a 5-6 startup campaign under head coach Ray Woodard. The Cardinals are joining Southland Conference play this season.

Lamar also announced it will play a game at Baylor University of Sept. 12, 2015. Lamar already has games set against FBS members Hawaii in 2012, Oklahoma State in 2013 and Texas A&M in 2014.
