UAB RB Reaves to enter NFL Draft
Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - UAB running back Darrin Reaves has decided to forgo his senior season of eligibility and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
Reaves leaves UAB ranked third all-time in career rushing yards (2,337) after racking up 928 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground during his junior year this past season.
"I want to thank all the coaches I have had over my three years at UAB, and also want to thank (athletic director) Brian Mackin, for allowing me the chance to play at a great university," Reaves said. "It has been a blessing and a great experience to play for my hometown team in Birmingham, but now I feel like it's time to take another step in my career."
Reaves rushed for 1,037 yards and 13 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign and finished the season as the only running back in the nation to rush for more than 1,000 yards and record more than 40 receptions, earning him first- team All-Conference USA honors.
Over three years at UAB, Reaves totaled 30 touchdowns and 3,048 all-purpose yards. He ranks fifth on the school's career list for points with 180.
