Report: UW's Seferian-Jenkins to enter NFL Draft

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - 2013 Mackey Award winner Austin Seferian- Jenkins likely played his final game for the University of Washington in Saturday's Fight Hunger Bowl, with the standout tight end telling the Seattle Times after the game that he will bypass his senior season and declare for the NFL Draft.

Seferian-Jenkins, Washington's all-time leader for career receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches by a tight end, finished his junior campaign with 36 receptions for 450 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns. The 6-foot-7 Seattle-area native had three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Huskies' 31-16 win in the Fight Hunger Bowl.

The 21-year-old beat out North Carolina's Eric Ebron and Florida State's Nick O'Leary for this year's Mackey Award, which recognizes college football's most outstanding tight end.

"I've done everything I can at the University of Washington," Seferian-Jenkins told the Seattle Times after the game. "I know I'm ready for the NFL. I need to take care of my mom and make sure she's financially OK. She's done so much for me, it's the least thing I can do."

For his career, the two-time All-Pac-12 selection compiled 146 catches, 1,838 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns over 38 games with the Huskies.
