GAME NOTES: The Drexel Dragons take aim at the top team in the Colonial Athletic Association, as they battle the Northeastern Huskies in a CAA showdown at the Matthews Arena.

The Dragons are coming off a big game at George Mason where they found themselves down 20 points and battled back to win, 58-54. It was the fourth win in five games for Drexel after a three-game losing streak. Although the Dragons have a losing record on the season, they carry a 5-4 CAA record into this game.

Northeastern most recently suffered a 78-73 loss to Georgia State, which halted an eight game winning streak for the Huskies. The streak started for NU as conference play began as the squad really heated up after a 5-7 start to the season.

Drexel leads the all-time series 36-15, but Northeastern took a matchup earlier this season in Philadelphia with a hard fought, 63-58 overtime victory.

Damion Lee scored half the Dragons' points in the game against George Mason. Shooting 11-of-19 from the field, he tallied 29 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Derrick Thomas added 12 points in the win while Dartaye Ruffin was the game's top rebounder, pulling down 10 boards. The game before, Lee posted 30 points and is the team's top scorer this season with 18.8 ppg. Chris Fouch adds 16.7 ppg, while Frantz Massenat contributes 14.0, However, both players are shooting below 40.0 percent from the field. The team plays solid defense holding opponents to 62.9 ppg, but despite having three players average double-figure scoring, the Dragons score just 62.4 ppg. Drexel has not earned a single win this season when an opponent scores over 60 points.

In the loss to Georgia State, the Huskies scored 70+ points for the fourth consecutive game as Reggie Spencer led the team, just missing a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Joel Smith (16 points), Demetrius Pollard (15 points), and Jonathan Lee (14 points) all scored in double figures. The team played well, shooting 53.1 percent from the field but was just unable to slow down R.J. Hunter of GSU, who scored 27 points, knocking down five 3- pointers, with five assists. Smith averages 16.6 ppg, leading the team while Jonathan Lee leads with 4.3 apg to go with his 12.9 ppg. Quincy Ford contributes 12.8 ppg, while Spencer manages 11.0 ppg on 53.9 percent shooting from the floor.

Against a Drexel team that has struggled to keep up with high scoring offenses, as long as the Huskies, who average 69.8 ppg, put points on the board it will be difficult for the Dragons to match them. Drexel will need another huge game from Lee in order to have any chance in this matchup.

Sports Network Projected Outcome: Northeastern 73, Drexel 65
