Poughkeepsie, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Khallid Hart tallied 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists, as the Marist Red Foxes held off the Canisius Golden Griffins, 65-62, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at McCann Arena.
Hart shot 5-of-9 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line for Marist (5-9, 2-2 MAAC), which has won five in a row following an 0-9 start to the season. Chavaughn Lewis also scored 19 points for the home team, while Jay Bowie chipped in 18 points and seven boards.

Marist led by as many as nine in the first half, but Canisius didn't allow the game to get out of hand, as it pieced together a 9-0 run late in the frame. The Red Foxes took a slim 32-31 lead into the break.
The Red Foxes again appeared to pull away thanks to a 15-5 spurt to start the second half, but the Griffs would not go quietly, chipping away at the deficit until Heath drilled a 3-pointer with 4:12 left to tie the game at 55. Bowie answered for Marist less than a minute later with a long-range bucket of his own, and it would hold on to the win from there.
Marist shot 46.9 percent from the field on the evening while holding Canisius to just 38.7 percent shooting.
