Winston-Salem, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Codi Miller-McIntyre finished with 26 points, including two free-throws with seven seconds remaining that sent the game to overtime, as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons outlasted the Richmond Spiders, 76-66, in non-conference action at Joel Coliseum.
For the Demon Deacons (8-2) Tyler Cavanaugh finished with 15 points, Devin Thomas posted a double-double with 11 points and 19 rebounds and Travis McKie added 10 points.
Cedrick Lindsay led the Spiders (7-3) with 18 points, while Kendall Anthony finished with 14 points.
Richmond shot 40.7 percent from the field in the first half, as the Spiders took a slim lead at halftime, 32-31. Wake Forest made 42.3 percent of its field goal tries in the half.
After intermission, the Spiders shot 45.8 percent from the field while the Demon Deacons shot 37 percent. Trailing by seven, 61-54, with 1:36 to play in regulation, the Demon Deacons scored the final seven points of half, topped off by Miller-McIntyre's free-throws, to send the game to the extra session.
Wake Forest dominated overtime, scoring the first eight points of the period, part of a 10-1 run, as it was able to survive and get the home win.
The Demon Deacons dominated on the boards, outrebounding the Spiders 53-24. Richmond scored 31 points off of 21 Wake Forest turnovers.
