Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Robert Olson and Dylon Cormier each netted 16 points as the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds overcame a second-half deficit to defeat the Boston University Terriers, 70-63, in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
The duo combined to shoot 8-of-16 from 3-point range for Loyola (22-11), which has won four of its last six. Erik Etherly had eight points and nine rebounds but also committed seven turnovers for the hosts.
For BU (17-13), Dom Morris scored 17 points, Malik Thomas poured in 15 points, Maurice Watson, Jr. logged 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and D.J. Irving also put up 12 points.
BU opened the game on an 8-1 run less than four minutes in and eventually carried a 33-27 advantage into intermission.
The Terriers extended their lead to 15 early in the second half before Loyola made its move, as it ripped off a 26-8 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 58-55 lead with just over five minutes to play. After BU tied the game on a Thomas 3-pointer, the Greyhounds took the lead for good on a Cormier trey with 3:16 to play.
Loyola outscored BU at the foul line, 16-8, and its bench outscored the Terriers' reserves, 19-2.
