NCAA Game Summary - Loyola-Maryland at Niagara

Niagara, NY (Sports Network) - In an exciting double-overtime bout, Robert Olson scored 23 points, leading the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds over the Niagara Purple Eagles, 89-87, for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference show at the Gallagher Center.
Olson was one of six Greyhounds (16-8, 8-4 MAAC) to score in double figures as Dylon Cormier tallied 15 points, Julius Brooks 14, Anthony Winbush 13, and both Erik Etherly and R.J. Williams 11 point apiece. Winbush managed a double- double by pulling down 13 rebounds. The win ended a two-game slide for Loyola.
For Niagara (14-9, 10-2), Antoine Mason and Juan'ya Green scored 23 points each. T.J. Cline added 14 points while Ameen Tanksley tallied 12. Green, Tanksley, and Malcolm Lemmons were the top rebounders with eight each for the Purple Eagles, who saw their seven-game winning streak come to a close.
Loyola shot just 41.2 percent from the field in the first half but thanks to nine turnovers by Niagara, the Greyhounds led 35-34 at the break.
Niagara took the lead with under eight minutes to go but was not able to hold on as two free throws by Winbush with 35 seconds left tied the game at 66-66 and sent it to overtime.
In the first overtime, Loyola led the entire period. At one point the Greyhounds were up by eight but the Purple Eagles weren't finished as a 3- pointer with nine seconds left by Green finished off an 11-3 run for Niagara and locked the score at 79-79 and headed for a second overtime.
The final overtime period was back and forth, but with three seconds remaining, Lemmons hit a pair of free throws to tie the game for the Purple Eagles. Brooks got the ball and made a layup as time expired to give the visitors the narrow win.
Turnovers cost the Purple Eagles in the game as their 15 miscues led to 27 points for the Greyhounds.
