NCAA Game Summary - Oakland at West Virginia

Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - Aaric Murray came off the bench and registered a double-double to help the West Virginia Mountaineers win a tight contest over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 76-71, in a non-conference matchup at the WVU Coliseum.
Murray scored 12 points, grabbed 10 boards and blocked five shots for WVU (5-5). Juwan Staten chipped in 11 points and five assists while Keaton Miles and Terry Henderson netted 10 points each.
Travis Bader scored a game-high 25 points on 6-of-12 shooting from behind the arc to pace Oakland (4-8), which has not won back-to-back games all season. Drew Valentine scored 15 points before fouling out and Corey Petros added 14 points. Duke Mondy flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, nine boards and eight assists.
Oakland led by eight points with just over two minutes left in the opening half, but it went into the intermission with a 39-37 lead after the Mountaineers scored six straight points before halftime. The Golden Grizzles shot 44.4 percent from the floor, but converted 11-of-16 attempts at the charity stripe in the first half. WVU went into the break trailing despite knocking down 53.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.
The Mountaineers continued to play well on the offensive end after the intermission as they hit 52.2 percent of their shots from the field including 4-of-9 from three-point range. Oakland trailed for the final 11:07 after cooling off to make just 36.7 percent of its field goal attempts in the second half.
The WVU reserves outscored the Grizzlies' bench players, 37-2.
