Bayamon, PR (Sports Network) - Terrell Vinson tipped in a missed layup by Chaz Williams with no time left on the clock to put the Massachusetts Minutemen up 77-75 over the Providence Friars for a dramatic victory in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off in Bayamon.

Jesse Morgan led the team in scoring off the bench with 18 points, Chaz Williams added 17 points and Raphiael Putney chipped in 10. Both Williams and Putney pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

UMass outscored Providence 41-35 in the first half, while shooting 59.3 percent from the field to 42.4 percent by the Friars.

Providence fought back and led 75-72 with 1:22 left in the game when Jesse Morgan hit a three-pointer to tie the game. Neither team scored until the final moments when Vinson tipped in the ball for the win.

UMass will face off against sixth-ranked NC State in second-round action on Saturday.
