NCAA Game Summary - Butler at Xavier

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Jeff Robinson finished with 17 points and
eight rebounds, while Travis Taylor tallied 15 points and nine boards to lead
the Xavier Musketeers past the Butler Bulldogs, 62-47, on Tuesday.
The two seniors combined to shoot 14-of-23 from the field, each connecting on
seven shots apiece. Justin Martin added 10 points for the Musketeers (2-0),
who were facing the Bulldogs (1-1) for the first time since they joined the
Atlantic 10, but the contest was played as a non-conference game.
The two teams had scheduled the meeting prior to the Bulldogs' move last
summer, and both schools agreed to move forward with the game as a non-
conference contest. The two teams will square off on March 9 for their first
in-conference matchup.
Kellen Dunham was the only player for the Bulldogs in double-figures, scoring
11 points. Butler struggled from the field all day, making just 19-of-52
shots.
Rotnei Clarke posted seven points, five rebounds and five assists in the
loss for Butler, which was coming off a season-opening victory against
Elon University.
Winning by as many as 14 in the first half after a Semaj Christon fastbreak
layup, Xaiver went up 50-35 following a pair of free throws by Martin with
9:29 left in the game.
The Musketeers led by as many as 20 and never trailed in the contest.
