Final Score: Wright State 56, Detroit 54

Valparaiso, IN (Sports Network) - Miles Dixon netted 14 points, including the game-winning jumper in the waning seconds, as the third-seeded Wright State Raiders upset the second-seeded Detroit Titans, 56-54, in the semifinal round of the Horizon League Tournament at the Athletics-Recreation Center.

Dixon shot 6-of-8 from the field off the bench and added three steals for Wright State (21-11), which will play in Tuesday's championship game against Valparaiso. Jerran Young added 12 points and six rebounds for the Raiders.

Jason Calliste led Detroit (20-12) with 17 points and five assists, while Evan Bruinsma put up 15 points. Ray McCallum, the Horizon League Player of the Year, had just five points on 1-of-7 from the field.

Although Wright State outshot Detroit from the field in the first half, 57.9 percent to 41.7 percent, the Titans attempted five more field goals than the Raiders and shot 7-of-8 from the foul line, as the teams went into intermission tied at 29-29.

The game remained tight down the stretch, with a total of 14 ties and nine lead changes on the day. With Detroit down three with just over a minute remaining, Calliste drained a 3-pointer to tie the contest. After empty possessions by both sides, Wright State had possession with time winding down, which ultimately led to Dixon's last-second bucket.

Wright State overcame a game-high 17 turnovers by winning the rebounding battle, 29-21.

Final Score: Valparaiso 70, Green Bay 69

Valparaiso, IN (Sports Network) - Ryan Broekhoff drilled a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the top-seed Valparaiso Crusaders to a thrilling 70-69 win over the fourth-seed Green Bay Phoenix in the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament at the ARC.

Broekhoff finished with 25 points, Kevin Van Wijk had 17 and Matt Kenney tallied 14 for Valparaiso (25-7) which will battle third-seed Wright State for the conference title on Tuesday.

Keifer Sykes dropped in 31 points and Alec Brown totaled 15 for Green Bay (18-15).

Valparaiso shot 45.8 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes. Green Bay hit on 40.7 percent from the field and was held scoreless from 3-point range. The Crusaders led 29-23 at intermission.

Sykes scored 21 points in the final 20 minutes as the Phoenix rallied behind a 65.4 percent shooting effort. Valparaiso kept pace by shooting 54.2 percent from the field. The Phoenix had a 68-64 lead with 13 seconds remaining but Kenney nailed a 3-pointer to pull the Crusaders to within one. Brown split a pair of free-throws on the other end. Van Wijk collected the rebound on the miss and got the ball to Broekhoff who went down the floor and after fumbling the ball was able to sink the game-winner.

Valparaiso shot an even 50 percent from the field in the contest and nailed eight shots from beyond the arc.
