NCAA Game Summary - Penn at Yale

Final Score: Yale 79, Penn 65

New Haven, CT (Sports Network) - Led by Brandon Sherrod with 18 points, the Yale Bulldogs downed the Penn Quakers, 79-65, in an Ivy League bout at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.

For the Bulldogs (14-17, 8-6 Ivy), Armani Cotton added 15 points and nine rebounds, Javier Duren and Michael Grace each finished with 13 points and Matt Townsend chipped in with 10 and nine rebounds of his own.

Tony Hick led the Quakers (9-21, 6-7) with 16 points, while Miles Cartwright scored 12 points and Darien Nelson-Henry tallied 10, as Penn had their modest two-game winning streak snapped.

Penn went into the locker room at halftime leading 32-31. The Quakers shot 46.4 percent from the field in the half, including 3-of-7 from 3-point distance. Yale made just 40.9 percent of their field goal tries and missed all but one of its five 3-point attempts in the period.

After the break Yale picked up the pace, knocking down 51.9 percent of their shots from the field and 3-of-8 from 3-point range. Penn struggled from the field in the second half, falling to 36.4 percent shooting and 2-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc. Yale put together an 18-7 run in the frame and never looked back.

In a game that featured six ties and 11 lead changes, the Bulldogs outscored the visitors at the free-throw line, 29-18.
