Georgetown downs No. 11 UCLA
Brooklyn, NY (Sports Network) - Markel Starks had 23 points as Georgetown took down 11th-ranked UCLA, 78-70, in the semifinals of the Progressive Legends Classic.
Otto Porter scored 18 points to go with 11 rebounds and five assists for the Hoyas (3-0), who advanced to face top-ranked Indiana in the tournament final on Tuesday. Greg Whittington added 13 points.
Jordan Adams had 22 points and six rebounds for the Bruins (3-1), who also got 12 points and eight rebounds from Travis Wear.
Highly touted prospect Shabazz Muhammad made his debut for UCLA in the game and posted 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting along with two assists. He was initially ruled ineligible by the NCAA after it was determined he received nearly $1,600 in impermissible benefits during the recruiting process, but was reinstated after serving a three-game suspension.
