Dream beat Fever in double OT

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Angel McCoughtry sank the go-ahead three-pointer with 8.8 seconds left in the second overtime, and Atlanta pulled out a 90-88 victory against Indiana on Saturday night.

McCoughtry, who ended up with a game-best 27 points along with six steals and five assists, also sank the game-tying shot late in regulation. The Dream has won their first two games of the year under new head coach Michael Cooper.

Erika de Souza and Shoni Schimmel each contributed 17 points to the victory.

Natasha Howard totaled 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Fever, who have lost their first two of 2014. Briann January added 20 in a losing cause.

Atlanta erased a nine-point first-quarter deficit and led by two at the break. Sancho Lyttle's jumper with 2:22 left in the third provided a 59-51 edge for the visitors, which was erased with 5:29 remaining on an Erlana Larkins shot which forged a 66-66 deadlock.

The two teams played it close for the remainder of regulation and the first overtime, which ended tied at 81-all after Schimmel's jumper inside of a minute left.

After McCoughtry's successful try from long distance, Maggie Lucas' trey fell short with less than a second to play.
