Diggins, Sims lead Shock past Sky
Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Tulsa's dynamic backcourt of Odyssey Sims and Skylar Diggins combined for 42 points on 18-of-21 from the free throw line as the Shock took down the Chicago Sky, 79-69, on Sunday.
Sims poured in a game-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds and eight assists, while Diggins netted 18 points. The Shock won for just the second time in their last nine games.
The game was tied at 56-56 through three quarters when Diggins' layup 14 seconds into the fourth sparked an 11-2 Tulsa flurry. Chicago got back to within six on Allie Quigley's triple at the 4:25 mark, but Roneeka Hodges matched her with a 3 at the other end. The margin never dipped under seven the rest of the way.
Quigley and Epiphanny Prince scored 14 points apiece to pace the Sky, who led by 12 early in the third before coughing up the lead as the quarter went on.
Chicago hit just 2-of-11 from behind the arc.
